Today In Ellen History

On this day in 1967, Ellen sings the 50 states song for her class. No one notices that she adds South Virginia as one of the states and forgets to include Ohio.

On this day in 2006, 3 year old Isabella Natallini cracks Ellen up when she sings “The 50 States Song,” It becomes one of the most beloved moments from the show.

Someone mentioned earlier that you should do a show with kids like Bill Cosby use to do. I think that is one of the best ideas i have heard in a long. I would even volunteer my 5 year old son to do a pilot show with you. We love you!

WOW........is all you can say about this little one......

Ellen,
Hi again, I'm trying to get tickets for your show. My birthday is March 25, don't tell anyone, I will be 50. But I haven't heard if I will get tickets for the 20th, that was the only day in March that was a possibility. Keep your fingers crossed. Maybe I will see you before I turn 50. I've been a big fan of yours for years. Well, we'll say a couple, ha-ha. Love ya, Dianne

omgosh!!! WHAT A PRECIOUS LITTLE GIRL!! I AM ALMOST 80 AND HAVE 15 GRAND AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN! THEY ARE ALL SUCH A JOY! I AM PARTIALLY DISABLED, AND SIT HERE WITH MY COMPUTER AND YOU!!! I WATCH YOU EVERY DAY AND YOU BRING SMILES AND LAUGHS TO THIS OL LADY!!! MY DAY IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT YOU ELLEN!!!! THANKS FOR BEING YOU AND WITH A HEART SOOO BIG!!! LOVE YA, GRANDMA NORMA

Wow is all I can say. I have been going to college for the last 2 years to get my Doctrate in Psychology and I am going to teach children. Especially want to teach children who have ADD and ADHD. This segment with the 3 yr old girl and you brought tears to my eyes. If more parents worked with their children like that little girls mother has, there would be no need for me to keep studying I believe :-)

You are so good with kids. Watching you laugh at her cough cracked me up. Never a dull moment when watching your show.

i love you ellen. i'll be your assistance any time

Ellen,
The way you interact with kids is so special. Why don't you approach the network about doing a few specials each year featuring you with children the way Art Linkletter and Bill Cosby used to do? I'm sure they would be a great hit!

OMG! She is to cute.
i love this show :D

I love watching you show Ellen. If I am having a bad day I know if I sit down and watch your show, my mood changes in the first five minutes and I began to lol.

My mom also taught me this song. She was
a school bus driver and taught the kids this song on the way to school. Sadly, she passed away in 2004. Thanks for sharing this wonderful little girl singing. It was a great reminder of a very special person!!!!

I just love your show and someday hope to get to see you in person. I think that little girl was wonderful and so cute. I can't remember ever learning that song but it seems to help her remember the states.

For the first time Ellen, I think someone almost stole the show from you. She realized too quick that her little cough was going to get a reaction from the crowd and she ran with it. You did so well interviewing her, pretty tough with a 3 year old. Thanks again for the great memories you give me every time I see your show.

Hey Ellen
Watch your show here in Denmark almost every day, and the video with the 3 year old girl was absolutely the highlight of the day. Her laughter was just so adorable and catching.
Keep up the good work, you're adorable as well.
Love Bonny

Hello Ellen,
I am from Cape Town, in South Africa. You are by far the most entertaining woman I have ever had the pleasure to watch on TV. You are favourite here in SA...and must be complimented on your happy and generous nature. You are indeed an inspiration to us all. We look forward to you visiting our beautiful country one day. And if ever you are in a position to offer tickets to your show to a very appreciative audience, my daughters and I would be blown away and be there in a heartbeat..... Regards to you Mom, love, Linda.

She is to darn cute, bet she'll grow up to be a very special peron. Her mom should be very proud.

I know that Ellen probably will never get to read this, but I would appreciate it if someone would be so kind to pass this on to her. I don't want anything from her except to let her know how very much I appreciate her! She is one of the most generous people God ever could have created. I love to watch how happy she becomes when she is able to help someone, surprise them with a gift, or to share a new talent with the public. If others were as giving. caring and pleasant, (not to mention such a great dancer), this world of ours would be a better place to raise our kiddos in! My only real talents are being a good mom of 4 kids, 2 grandkids, and the fact that I run for the lukemia and lympoma foundation. A person has to raise at least 2500$ and in return, the foundation sends you to different states to run a marathon. More folks should watch Ellen and learn from her generous, happy and forgiving nature. If you get a chance to pass this along, please please let her know that someone in Sandy Creek NY, loves and respects her for the joy she brings to so many of us. (And please tell her that she is HOT for girl of 50!) Thank you so much again for all you do! Good Luck raising $$ for rebuilding Lousiana!! God Bless Ellen!
