Hey! Ellen! My girls and I are HUGE fans, and we'd sure like a chance to drive across the country (from Newbury, Ohio, anyway) to see your show. My daughters are 21, 19, and 11, and we haven't had a girls road trip yet, and here's why. My son is 23, my husband is self-employed and can't leave his business for very long, and when the three older kids were younger, our family road trips were, for the most part, agony. My nineteen-year-old, Mellissa, has not-so-fond memories of those trips, so she declined to go on a road trip to Yellowstone last summer with her sisters and myself, which was a BLAST! It would have been a lot more fun with her along, as she's a riot and does the best imitations of everyday people and celebrities, and she would have appreciated the Corn Palace and the Spam Museum. I think we could convince her to come along on a trip to see you, as she's been wanting to perform some of her awesome dance moves for you. (the Sprinkler is especially cool), and if we could hit some roadside attractions and festivals along the way, like the whistling festival in N. Carolina, the largest ball of string, , Bonnaroo in Tennessee, I know she'd come along, which would thrill her little sister Melanie. I drive a school bus ,and just love to drive, I could drive around the world if I had the time and gas $$$$$. We all love people watching and sight seeing, and taking the roads less traveled, and would sure love to meetcha. Warmest Regards,

Dorothy Miller

Hi Ellen, i'm trying to enter the car contest, but can't seem to get the registration form. Can someone help. Everytime I click on the "Enter and Win", I get the site where the 4 ladies were driving from your home town.
My husband and I watch yur program every morning. We even tape it if we are going to be out.
You are so funny. I watched your sitcom when it was on and was really disappointed when it went off the air.
I am a two time cancer survivor. I am trying to get a pair of your Ellen "pink" underwear to raffle off at our Relay for Life at the end of May. Your site said they were "out of stock". I did ask to be notified when they were back in stock. Can't wait to get them. (Last year I raised $5,200.00. In the year I have been involved in the American Cancer Relay for Life, about 8 years),, I estimate that I have raised over $25,000.00.)

I want you to know that it would mean so much to me to win an Arcadia. You see, I have a disease called fibromyalgia. Doctors and researchers are just now beginning to recognize this as a real disease and not just something in a persons head. Fibromyalgia causes me extreme pain throughout my body. To explain it better, on a daily basis I feel like I have the flu and then someone beat me up on top of that. Dont get me wrong, I do have good days but lately the pain has been debilitating in my job. On top of the fibromyalgia, I have had three surgeries on my feet and ankles. The surgeries didn't work but did at least leave me with extreme nerve damage and joint pain in my feet and ankles. So, I am only 25 by the way and cannot live a normal life. I am even getting in trouble right now at work because of issues I have with this. I work in Child Protective Services in Georgia. I work in a foster care unit and have to travel so much. I have children placed all over Georgia and have to visit them at least twice a month. I only have a small Nissan Sentra and because of how small it is, it causes more pain because I'm all cramped up. An Arcadia would mean so much to me because it would give me more room and allow me less pain when going on these long trips. I also drive an hour to work so by the time I get there, I am already completely exhausted. I don't make alot of money in this career and I knew I wouldn't when I went into it. I just want to help people. I can't even afford to leave my parents house right now much less buy a car, but I love my job. I am just afraid that I am not helping people when I am in a bad mood because I am hurting so bad. I am also so afraid that I will not be able to continue this job and I want to help people for the rest of the time that I will be able to physically work. Please help me Ellen. I need this so bad.

Ellen-
My name is Rebecca Harmon I am 18 years old. I live in Barton City Michigan. My parents watch you almost everyday. I love how you help people and would give them your shirt off your back if they asked. I am asking to go on this trip because our family has never really been on a vacation. also my parents have never reall had a brand new car in there lifes. They are the best parents in the world because no matter what any of us kids do they are always there to support us. we never really have enough money to do what we want all the timebut we deal with it. My mom just recently had back surgery and my dad can't work because he is allergic to almost everything. If we get this trip it will be a trip of a life time.
WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!
~Becky

Iam writting to you to tell you why I sould win the car, is because taht I have a car but it is not as comftorbale as the one that we can win, I always have to go and pick up my son everyweekend and I need a relibale car so taht it does not break down on me, with my son in the car, and that I can have something comftorble for him, because it is about 1 hour each way to his house and from my house. I would like to have him think he is a special little boy when he rides in this car. I hope you will dicide to pick this, if you do not do it for me think about my 8 year old son, and think comftorble for the trips we make to and from his house everyweekend. God Bless you Elen and I love your show, especially when you dance. Laura Watson, and son Juan perez Aguilar Jr

Hi Ellen

I just wanted to let you know that I love your show and tivo it daily so I don’t miss anything. I have been watching from day one when Jennifer Aniston brought you your very first Welcome Mat. I wanted to let you know that we are celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary on February 29 which is really only our 4th actually anniversary since February 29 only comes around every 4 years. Whuut the February!! We were married at a local Grocery Store in New Jersey (Shop-Rite of Lincoln Park) that was giving away a FREE Wedding that was advertiser in their weekly circular for Sadie Hawkins Day. We were married by the mayor and I was walked down the aisle by the owner of the store. I have a picture of my husband in a shopping cart with a paid sticker on this forehead. I would love to surprise my husband with the new GMC on February 29. We were recently relocated to GA and it has been a nightmare trying to sell our house in NJ. We finally just sold the house for $30,000 less than our mortgage almost 7 months after we listed it and with the double mortgages it wiped out what little money we had. Everyone keeps telling me that someday we will look back and laugh at this situation but right now I just want to cry. There are bill collectors calling the house daily and our credit is shot. Now that we finally sold the house my husbands truck die today. We had to have it towed back to the house and I’m not sure if he can get it running again it’s been on its last leg for some time now. It is a 1991 ford ranger with no heat, no air condition, and the gas gauge does not work so he has to remember to set the trip meter to fill up at a certain mileage. I know that this would be the Greatest Anniversary Gift that I could ever give him. Celeste

Hi Ellen, I am a married mother of 3 children and I watch your show everyday! My 2 year old just LOVES to dance to your show. My 6 month little girl just gazes, and my 16 year old just laughs as my 2 year old jiggles to the beat. I have never won anything before but I wanted to put my story out there to see if this time I could.

First off we live in the middle of nowhere. A town called Coalinga. We drive an hour to get to most things like doctors, bigger grocery stores etc. I drive a 1998 Camry and well it is on its last leg but what can you do? You can imagine how my teenager feels when everything is an hour away from where we live and he is very snug in between TWO carseats. The only way he gets in or out is thru the front seat and it is so funny to watch it. It looks like one of those clown cars where clowns keep coming out of a small car. The limited space problem is only going to get much worse when my 6 month old converts to a bigger seat instead of a infant carrier and that will be VERY soon. In fact I am truly not even sure if my oldest will fit at that point. There is no way we can purchase a newer car that is big enough for us all to fit into and I cannot tell you what a dream it would be to have a car we all actually fit into and go somewhere together. I am guessing that soon we will not be able to do anything all together and that makes me very sad.

I know there are probably a ton of people in my shoes and I would be truly amazed if you picked us! My son always complains about the car situation and I said son, I plan on working on it tomorrow maybe Ellen can help us out! Of course his answer is "oh sure", but you have to have faith that something great just might happen to us for once! I think you do great things for so many people and I cannot tell you how blessed we would feel if you picked us for your car and felt we were special enough for it.

Thanks for listening! Everyone at our home LOVES you. Oh and by the way we finally got tickets to your show actually my mother did for the 5th of Feb and we are unable to go because the Camry might not make it. :( We plan to try and see you again maybe in the summer!

Ellen...you are AWESOME! My 4 year old daughter and I watch your show everyday! She picks you even before Dora & Diego! Now that's something special!
I thought I would throw out there that I could really use a new vehicle. I have admired the GMC ACADIA from afar! I had twin baby girls in June of last year. Before that we lost our recently built home, due to me not being able to work being pregnant with the twins. We also had to let our car go back to the bank. That day was one of my "lowest" moments in life. Sitting, watching out of my 4 year old daughters bedroom window, as the repo guy hoisted my car onto his flat-bed trailer. She thought it was a pretty neat deal anyways!! We now have a minivan that we bought from a classified ad in the paper. We are starting to think that the previous owners got rid of it "just in the nick of time". It seems as if every other day there is something else going wrong with it.
Ellen, just keep me in mind when you are considering who you could give the GMC ACADIA to. My husband and I are also celebrating our 10 year anniversary in June. We got married the month after high school. (Yep..high school sweethearts...we actually have gone to school together since kindergarten!) We are hard workers and try not to ask for anything from anyone. But it's been hard lately. We have always owned a home, and now, when we should be "sittin' pretty!", we are renting for the first time and pretty much starting over.
BUT....no matter what...it was ALL worth it. My twin baby girls (and 4 yr old) are my world. We don't need material things...just each other! (But a new GMC would be nice, too!)
Ellen, you are such a special person. You do so much for others and are such an inspiration. Keep up the great work..and God bless you in all you do! Angel Oakes

Hi. I am writing in for my husband. He is a very hardworking man. He works in a major steel mill and works lots of hours and not to mention shiftwork. He wouldn't want me to make you feel sorry for him. We had our children young and he took the job so that he could take care of myself his child (and the other 2 that came along after). He is a very hardworking man. Seriously, the kind that doesn't call off for anything unless he can't get out of bed. You better believe he will try and go even times when he shouldn't. He's worked since he was 15 years old. He's had 4 cars (since we've been married, 13 years now). Let me tell you, I have been on him to bite the bullet and get a new car. His truck is a 93 Ford Ranger, if I leave him with the kids he can't take them anywhere because you can't fit everyone in it. The truck is on its last leg. THings keep breaking. It has no air conditioning in it and the heat is starting to go. Not fun when its 90 degrees outside or -10!!! The tailgate doesn't open anymore, which isn't a big deal really, its just that junky! And not to mention the color.. its green.. aqua green. But it was the "best buy" on the lot. I married a guy who doesn't like to spend money on things he doesn't think we need. He's not bad just very smart. However, I think if your sweating your butt off going to work or freezing it off, if things keep breaking on a vehicle.. get a new one!! He loves the ACADIA!!! He would NEVER go out and buy one. His grandmother passed away a few years ago and she left him her car. Very nice of her to do, but it was a 1986 Ford Escort Diesel station wagon. Red in color. He actually loved this car, because the gas was good. He drives 80 miles a day to and from work. Fills his truck up twice a week. With that old car, he would only fill it up every other week. But it was time for that car to go to the big junkyard in the sky. The bottom of it rotted out. Kinda like a Flintstone mobile! Seriously, you could see the ground in spots. Not safe!!! So we would be so grateful for this vehicle. If he had the Acadia, he could take the kids places when he was home with them. Its not that I wouldn't give up my mini-van, he doesn't like me driving the truck b/c of the condition and because its a stick shift. The truck has close to 200,000 miles on it. It would most importantly give me the peace of mind that he would be driving a safe car that would last him a long time!!
Thanks for listening!!!

Our Dearest Ellen, Wow you have really heard it all haven't you? The first thing I would hate to do is wine about my problems but here I go. I am a single mom and I am very very proud of all three of my babies, Ashley,Arnold,Andrew Dont laugh I named Arnold after my father who died when I was 14 on my Birthday. I to am a Capricorn!!! Power to us!!! I rose above the birthday blues and now celebrate them the older I get the more fun it is. 50 is the new 40 they say. Anyway I was told I have luekemia last year and dont fret as of yet I am doing Great and have everything to look forward to and with this possitive thinking I am in remission. The reason I would love to win the GMC Is for my daughter. Ashley She is in college paying for it herself with not much help from me she has worked from the time she was 13 to now working two jobs and going to school full time. Her car always breaks down and is unsafe for her to drive. She works late at night at a dinner club and I have had to go get her to work on it or bring her back to her dorm. My car isnt the greatest either and isnt safe for her to take. She has sooooooooooooo much pride to ask anyone for anything. My baby girl has baught her clothes and personal items since she was 13 years old i gave up trying to buy her clothes and gave her money only for hr to give it back to me for xmas and I would give anything to help her in life . (Washing her clothes once in a while if she lts me.) Ellen I would appreciate It so much if that GMC could be her's All I want is to meet you! You are the greatest!!! Happy birthday from one Capricorn to another. Thank you for all you have done for your home state. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!LOVE PENNY ASHLEY'S MOM P.S.( what a wonderful gift you are to all of us, You make me wet my pants with laughter every day!!!

Dear Ellen,
I love your show and tape it daily. When my kids get home from school I say, "How was your day?" and "Wait till you see what was on Ellen." In order to make this comment pertinent to the subject, I wanted to tell you I could really use a new car, especially one that seats 8 people. I'm a mom of nine children. Sometimes people judge me because we are constantly trying to make ends meet, and I did choose to have all these children after all. But other people have been really kind, and they understand that perhaps I was thinking rationally and perhaps I was crazy, but the kids are all here now, and we have got to make it work. But because I know we can't all win a new car, I decided to share my list of things that make me feel good when life is hard.
1. Freshly laundered sheets on the bed.
2. Checking out books, dvd's, magazines and videos from the library, all free.
3. Going for a walk and taking pictures of things that interest me.
4. Hearing from a friend just because they were thinking of me.
5. Watching Ellen with my kids.

Hi Ellen
I am writing wanting to win this car for my son. He's nineteen married and has a 16 month old. He's had a good childhood i think. Me and his dad divorced when he was 10. He and his two sisters stayed with there dad because it was better that way beause of my job being at night.
At 16 his dad passed away from cancer.Even at that time he wanted to be on his own, so he found a apartment moved in i kept a eye on him, made sure his rent and bills were paid.At 18 he got married and now has a daughter.
He's had it rough keeping work at times he has trouble with his one eye he is preety much blind in it now. He was to have a cornea transplant but put it off because of work and he wouldn't have been able to lift his daughter.
He's was doing pretty good had a new car his wife was working and he was working doing what ever he could. But things got too much and just last month they repo his car they had to move from their own apartment in with her mom.
He got a job but now has to depend on her mom to get back and forth to work take the baby to appointments.I know this crushes him to have to depend on someone. They found a used trailer and are trying to get it set up on a piece of ground this spring.
This car would mean so much to him a little self pride back. You know i could have used this car but i thought it more inportant to try for my son.
Well that's about it all i can do is hope I'm not even telling him so if he wins it will be a total surpise.
Thank you Ellen for making dreams come true.

Hi Ellen,

I absolutely love your show. I have been a fan forever, or so it seems. You give me hope for the world. Also, I wanted to enter your contest to win a car. I have had an awful year (of course compared to others it was not so bad, I know that). My work cut our pay by almost $600 a month, so it has been hard trying to save my house. I was on the verge of losing it and then I got in not 1 but 2 car accidents where people ran into my car. My car was totalled by a semi, but thank God my daughter and I were not seriously hurt. I finally got a settlement for my car and was going to buy another when I realized my house was in foreclosure. Being a single mom of 2 and living pay check to pay check, I had no extra money whatsoever. So, I then had to take every dime I had and put it in the house to save it. But because of this the bills got behind and I have been working to pay those and leaving us with at times $12 in the bank for the week. I still do not have a car, 4 months now. I have to drive my daughter back and forth to school as there is no bus and there is nothing within walkign distance as far as food shopping, etc. I have been living off the kindness of my son and my parents letting me use their cars but we are sharing these cars between 5 people and it is not working very well. I also have to start hauling cookies around at the end of February for my girl scout troop to sell. I am a troop leader, cookie parent, and also cookie coordinator for our service unit, so of cousre there will be a lot of cookies and hauling them on my back will not work well, lol. Needless, to say I need a car. If you pick me,it would be one of the best things that has happened to me in my life, except for my children. Thank you for even considering me. And of course, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!

hey ellen, i would like to nominate my sister pam to win this car. i can't believe all she has endured all her life, let alone this last year. well to start, she finally had a job she enjoyed and made good money at and the plant closed. then her husband was in an atv accident and sustained head injuries. meanwhile, they had went to replace a faucet in there bathtub, her husband broke the tub and in the process found out there was black mold everywhere. they were in the process of fixing this when he had his accident. so people came in to finish this for her, but another leak occurred and it had to be redone. she has very bad allergies and can;t be around the mold or dust, so she lived in a pop up trailer while this was being done, in wisconsin til november. theres more, but this is long already. anyway, she really deserves it. thanks for listening, cecelia

Hi ellen I like to nominate my sister Farm for the car contest. She has been there for every one including me. My parent they pass away when she was 16 and left behind 3 other small kids for her to take care of she was a kid her self. Anyway I want her to win this car because she could never afford a car that last long enough or for her to use before it breaks down on her. Her and I live 2 hours away but she could hardly make to visit me 'cause her car would not make it here with out passing out on the way to sacramento. She lives in Merced Ca.She is debetec type2.She has alot of health issue and can not work, she is aways sad with worries so I thouhgt if she could win this new car it would put a smile on her face and make her happy for a change.I fell that she deserves to be happy and it'll make me very happy to see her happy. We always try to give each other the best that we know how.Our mother was murderd back in 86 after one year being in the us so we only have each other to turn to for any kinda help or brake. It breaks my heart to see that the only person who's been there for me is suffering because I have no other way of helping her when she needs me.So that is why I am nominating her in this contest in hopes that this will make a diffrent once in her life. So please Ellen help me make my sister see that there is hope for happiness even for a moment.thank you for reading this.

Dear Ellen,

I have been watching/listening to your show from the first day and truIy enjoy all you do, especially your love for animals. When you announced that there would be a car give away, I immediately thought about my sister.
I would like to enter my sister, Nancy Scully, for a chance to win the new car. I am a 58 year old, retired Special Education school teacher and my 84 year old mother lives with me. We are both legally blind and my mother is recovering from a fall that resulted in a badly broken hip. I have several other medical problems that limit my mobility at times, as well. I have a wonderful yellow lab guide dog named Flicker, who is my guardian angel on earth.
My kid sister, Nancy, (54 yrs) who lives about 8 miles from me, is the mother of a 20 year old daughter who is studying to be a Spanish teacher, and a 21 year old son, who is in trade school, learning to become a welder. Her husband is in remission from non-Hodgkins lymphoma and has been able to return to work, with the knowledge that the cancer could return at any time. The entire family really depends on my sister for so many things. My sister provides all transportation for my mother and me, from grocery shopping to doctor appointments. She is a licensed hair dresser and takes care of everyones' hair as well. She is a fantastic cook and prepares all our wonderful holiday meals. She juggles all of her family's needs, which are many, as well as taking care of us. Her van, an old, old Chevy Lumina, I think it is a 1996, is slowly self- destructing from the inside out. She really needs a new car and I would love to surprise her with one. She wanted to get a part time job to help save money for a new car, but due to so many medical appointments needed by my mother and me, she has had a very hard time finding a job that would allow her to work and still help us out. If there was ever a contest for sister of the year, she would be the greatest candidate. I know you will receive thousands of entries, but I hope mine might be considered, as I have the greatest sister one could ever hope to have. Thank you for all you do to help out so many people. Helen Wase
