Ellen you are an amazing person. You have such an amazing amount of class. The way you did your tribute to Heath Ledger was great. My family are big fans of his. We have watched every movie he has been in. In fact we just watched A knights Tale a week before he passed. This is just an amazing thing to have happen to his family and friends. He was an amazing actor with great smile and a genuine love for his friends and especially his family. His daughter who is the exact image of her daddy will be taught what a loving man he was. He will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with his mother, father, sister, Michelle and Matilda.
Thank you again Ellen for a wonderful tribute.
Hi Ellen
I love your show like everybody else does, you are the best!!We love you in Canada!!I was so shocked when i heard about Heath legher passing away he was so handsome and talented.I loved all his movies, what a great loss.He will be dearly missed!....Sally
Lying in bed tossin and turning
to see you again our hearts are yearning
But on T.V cameras are flashin
Ignorant people cussin and trashin
While people keep talking their smack
The rest of us just want you back
You had such a beautiful sweet face
It's so sad you had to leave this place
No one understands why you're gone
But through your daughter you'll live on
We are glad your talent you did share
And for your daughter we'll always care
But looking down from up above
We know you're sending her your love
And through the sky painted blue
We are sending our love up to you.
G'day from OZ Ellen. I absolutely love your show, it makes me laugh so much, your wonderful humour is just so infectious.
Just want to say what a wonderful tribute you paid to Heath, one of OZ's brightest stars. We shall miss him.
Condolences to Michelle, Matilda and to Heath's loving family.

Ellen I want to commend you on the approach you took to remembering and paying tribute to Heath Ledger. When I heard of his passing I was truly upset and I can't imagine what his family is going through right now. To Michelle whom my thoughts and prayers are with right now who now has to raise her daughter alone after losing the man that she once loved. My condolences to his family and especially Michelle and Matilda. Thank you Ellen for remembering him and making me tear up.

I find it so hard to watch this, or any other video of Heath Ledger even though I never knew him, his death has affected me greatly. Every time I think about him I cry. As I write this I cry. Just knowing that he was this amazing actor with such extraordinary taalent makes me soo sad. Even more heart-wretching is that he was a father to a young girl, a young-girl who will never really know her father. By watching his interviews I know he did not want to leave his life or the life of his daughter who meant everything to him. My heart goes out to his family, I can't even begin to imagine how they feel :'(
Ellen that was a wonderful and classy way to tribute Heath. But in this time we must also remeber his family. Because they have lost more then a great actor, but a mother, father and brother have lost a son. And they are the ones that have lost the most. Like my favorite saying from John Q: "I am not going to buiry my son, my son is going to buiry me." And any parent that has to buiry a child, my heart goes out to them.
what an great tribute to such an amazing person , actor and daddy. i never met him but in some weird way its like i knew him. i am never good at letting my emotions show but when i saw this i cryed my eyes out. ellen you did such a good job in honouring him memory, he will be greatly missed by everyone
anyway have a great day
love
natalie
what can i say? tragedy hits us often but we can not forget what was truly good and honest...Heath was a beautiful part of our film greats and I will never forget his amazing talent. if we could all be as brave and real...thank you Heath and thank you to Ellen for your truth everyday as well.
I wish that there were more people in the media who took your lead when it comes to being tasteful and tactful.
I never knew Mr. Ledger but I watched every movie he was in. He seemed to be a real down to earth man, a good man, and kind soul with a big heart, but most of all a loving, caring father. My heart goes out to his daughter and the rest of his family and friends. She will know what a good man he really was through them.
Those who have a duty and responsibility to report news worthy items should respect the privacy Mr. Ledger's passing and let those who loved him grieve and remember him in peace. Thank you for not following the same path as the rest of the media seemed to. You are a woman of great quality and that's why we love you.
Thank you.
It broke my heart to say goodbye to such rare talent. I enjoyed his performances. He was outstanding. He will truly be missed. Regardless of the reasons, it is sad to see someone cut down in the prime of his life. And to the Ellen Show, Ellen, you are first class all the way.
Thank you for the funny clip with Heath Ledger. That's how I'll remember him best-fun loving. All his movies were wonderful. He was a terrific actor. My sympathy to his family.
Thank you so much, Ellen, for making such a fun and memorable tribute to Heath Ledger. He was a great actor and seeing him having so much fun on your show was a great thing for me to see after being upset by his death. Thanks again.
I am 49 years old and yes, I have a life. I am not a star-struck fan over anyone, but I have shed many tears over the death of this sweet actor. I don't know why this has hurt me so deeply. I think it's because of the fact that he seemed more stable than most stars of his age and you never heard any real "dirt" on him. He had a sweetness in his eyes and I believe he was truly a "good" young man with a great heart. I can't convey how sad, and mad I am that someone didn't get him some medical help ASAP, instead of calling his girlfriend in another country for help. Doesn't make any sense. I feel robbed knowing that he won't be here to make more films for movie lovers everywhere. It's such a tragedy that I, who didn't even know the guy, am genuinely mourning still.
I hope his family and loved ones know how much he touched the public through his acting and how many really loved him without even knowing him.
I did see this and you were so gracious on the matter. You are very classy act and it was wonderful--- and sad to see the clip- I loved him a whole lot as an upcoming new talent and one whom made remarkable advances forward so quickly. He will be very missed and I truly hope his family and child will be well-taken care of by the Hollywood friends. I do want to see both new movies he had done -but it will be very sad to see it finished(his acting and Hollywood) and I hope the theatres are very gracious with a memorial for him after or before each movie-Maybe you and all your 'contacts' and power in Hollywood can be sure that each Theatre chain does a Memorial clipping of his life and perhaps the family can then ask for donations to his Charity of choice in this as well- before and after each of the movies. For to approach Theatres and set it up- with some help- maybe the World can change and if every time a famous star or up- and -comer passes away - the Theatres can make an effort to ask for donations to the familys' choice of charities and EVEN accept the Donations at theatre! Can you imagine what kind of impact it could be if everyone whom drops 10-20 dollars for food and soda- instead drops a few bucks to chairities of passed stars? would be a great positive vibration wordwide.EVEN THE DVD stores! Oh well- thanks for listening to my dream. Philip- St.Louis, Mo./// PS: Ellen is about the best star around.and cutest and a down right home town girl done good! I love her alot and she Does Not look 50! I am almost there myself-next year.I have followed Ellen since her series- and this show has changed the world(like Oprah)you go girl! keep on trucking- the world needs Ellen and more Ellens for sure. Dear Ellen,
First and foremost, my daughter (who is 11) and I love you show and your website. You are such a joy and we thank you for everything that you bring to the world. Every time you walk off your stage please take your right hand and go across to your left should and pat yourself on the back for a job well done!
Now…I need your help. With the Recent passing of the wonderful and talented Heath Ledger, I have notice something that is VERY troublesome to me. While cooking dinner I usually watch the news, but this particular night I was running late so I put the channel on that I wanted to watch one of my Primetime favorite show. Picture it…I’m cooking away and I hear people screaming…HERE COMES HIS BODY…I paused and thought to myself…did I just hear that?? Then while I was turning around I heard….Oh man….that picture I just took is going to be worth some big money!!! I was Absolutely mortified! I quickly turned the TV off and sat down. I just could not believe what I just witnessed. Why???? Why was it necessary for the crowd of people to watch and to take photographs of a person who has passed?!
I went out with some friends this weekend for drinks and I asked them of their thoughts. I was shocked there as well…One of the girls said he was a “Famous Person”, and people want to know. I looked right at her and said forget the “Famous” he was a Father, son, brother, and Friend; He was no different from us. I gave a big SHAME ON YA’LL for buying, and or watching this crap, and told them that the reason this will go one is because people like them and the fuel to the fire. Of course this discussion took over our evening,
I really do not understand the world today, why should the family have to ask for privacy when grieving for their loved ones? Its not only when dealing with death, the paparazzi are EVERYWHERE. They are Snapping photos and hounding “stars” with questions while they are walking in the park or to a store. What is the purpose for stocking someone?
WHY IS THERE NO LAW AGAINST THIS/or is there?? I’m so lost with this. Why could there not be a law that would protect the “stars”. For the “stars” that want the photos to keep themselves out there, they could have a say when and where the photos could be taken, and for the “stars” that want to be left alone they wishes would be granted??
I could just go on and on with my questions and comments…
Could you please help me understand this?
My heart goes out to Heath’s family and friends.
Thank you for your time,
Angela Faudere

Ellen, yours was a lovely tribute to Heath. Like many others, I am still deeply saddened by his passing. Seeing Heath in that clip with you is bittersweet. Thank you, Ellen.
