hey Ellen. Last year we moved into our trailer, and when summer came around we had ants horrible. They would stay in our cereal boxes, and go around anything sugar. But what we did to get rid of them was get this home defense spray stuff that we sprayed in the corners in the kitchen, and all around the outside of our home. Then we went to homedepot and got some of these triasicide pellets, that we sprinkled in our yard and underneath our skirting of our home. And i have never once had another ant in my house, ever. But also i got some airtight containers, and put all the cereal and chips in them so they wont smell the food.

Good luck ellen! and i hope you solve your ant problem. O and also you might want to try baby powder by ur windows and door, where they can come in, because they will not cross that stuff!

love ya love your show!

I read some of the other comments for getting rid of ants and noticed that none were similar to my remedy. I have had an ant problem this winter, as well, with them in my bathroom. They are of the scouting variety, not your coffee table variety. Just a few at a time. At about the same time as the first scout arrived, a spider took residence along the wall and cabinet junction. And as I have an adversion to killing spiders, she has been left alone. And in her stay in the bathroom, she has eaten quite a few of the scouting ants. It may not be everyone's answer to the problem, but I am very pleased with the results.

Hi Ellen--- a few years ago we moved into a new sub-division. All was wonderful until one day it started to rain and it rained and it rained and just like your ants - mine decided they better come inside to dry off. There was a parade a mile long from the back bedroom window to the kitchen where they found the cookie jar and from there to the garage. (I found out that the property had been a cow pasture prior to the development being built.) We tried many things to get rid of them but nothing seemed to do the trick until someone told me to sprinkle cornmeal around the window where they were coming in. The aunts would come in and grab a granule of corn meal and go out with the big yummy treat they had found. Within 48 hours they were gone. I guess you could try it and see if it works for you. It would not hurt your cats or dogs either. BTW Love your show---my daughter and I watch you every day and love to dance and laugh right along with you and your audience. We even were in your audience last year when you came to Universal Studios in Orlando. What an awesome time we had that day... even in the rain...we had a blast!!

Hey Ellen. . . .here's what ya gotta do for your ant problem. Put little piles of corn meal around. The ants take it back to their hill and share it with the other ants. They all eat it but they can't digest it. . . . which does cause them to die. . . . I had some ants and did that and it worked like a charm!

Hi Ellen

I think you should use ground cinnamon for your ant problem. I have used it many times and it does work and it smells pretty good to.

Hi Ellen. Hear you have an ant problem. You can but bay leaves around your counters and in your window sills and out side mix a box of borax and 5 pounds of sugar and spread it all around the foundation outside of your home.

Hey Ellen, I just read that if you take chalk and draw a line at the points of entry it will keep the ants out as they don't like chalk!!!?? I never have tried it just read it in an article last week.

Ellen, Dont do pepper stuff. What if one of your pets sniff it. it will hurt their noses. I already posted a comment on another page but incase whoever reads your email comments misses the other one i would like to share with you a non toxic way to get rid of ants that wont harm other creatures or leave a sticky mess. it is called basic h2 and i sell it and so if you like I could send you some if i had an address to send it to. Would love to do that for you. Keep me laughing. Especially this week because I am sitting on the couch with my leg up after twisting it at curves yesterday. Danced myself right to the floor. Have a great day. Lesley

ANT PROBLEM?

THIS SEEMS LIKE THE MOST LOGICAL TO ME. BUY AN ANT EATER. DUH? Maybe you and your ants have been smoking one two many of those mini dollar bills.

Ellen,
I heard you are having an ant problem. Here is a solution for you:
Black pepper is a nonlethal, poison free, cheap, and safe way to get rid of ants - sprinkle the black pepper where you see them congregating and watch 'them scatter. Follow them to where they're exiting - which is the same spot they're entering in at - and sprinkle the pepper at that spot to keep them from coming back in. It's safe to use in your cabinets, on windowsills, near your pets, around food, etc.
I hope that helps! I love ya Ellen, you make me laugh every day!

Michelle

For your ant problem I have a easy solution. Buy Cayenne Pepper and put along all your doors and windows. We had an ant problem at one time too, this works and they won't come in. The only thing is you do have to leave it for a while. This won't hurt them . They don't like the pepper, but it won't kill them.

Ellen, Concerning the ants; there is a book on QVC entitled 1001 All Natural Secrets to Pest Control by Myles Bader. I know you are into not killing things and are into "green". This book ought to be something you would like to have.
