actually, i'm having a hard time with this. i really don't know how to send a letter to steve jobs.
his speech at stanford was really nice. at first, when asked by our teacher if we know him. we were all like this, who the hell is steve jobs? and why are we supposed to listen to his boring speech? but then like you, he inspired all of us in class to dream and follow our hearts in doing what we want to do. ellen, i would also like to thank you for inspiring us to strive hard on reaching for our dreams. for what you did to ms. pempengco served as an eye-opener to me and to all the dreamers out there.
Back to steve jobs, it is really my wish to send this letter to him but i haven't slept a bit and it's already 2am here. so i have to put an end in my search and give up. so, the only person i could think of is you ellen. pls do let him read this...pls...

what i have in here is my friend's reaction on steve's speech. we were actually asked by our teacher to write a reaction paper and post it on yahoo. that's why i got the chance to read hers and send it to you.

here it goes...

steve jobs' story inspired me.

he chose to drop out of college to follow what he really wanted to do,
and that led him to the discovery of his "real" passion.

yes, he dropped out. but i do think that he is just one of those who
were lucky enough to be successful.

one more thing, his speech was not boring. maybe because it's not the
usual lengthy speeches of our speakers during programs. most
importantly, we can actually relate to what he's talking about - about
our future, the choices that we make in life, etc.

personally, his speech is a good advice for me. i, myself, is looking
for that very thing that will make me happy - wherever my heart is.
until now, i am still struggling to find out what is it that my heart
wants to do.

i do thank him, though i may not be able to tell him personally. he
reminded me not to lose hope and believe in myself. he almost faced
death, but still had the courage to go on. he never gave up.

"stay hungry, stay foolish". even if people consider it very
impractical and crazy, go on. what do they know about your own life?
you, alone, can decide for yourself.

Ellen... I just wanna wish you a Happy Birthday and I hope that it is the best possible for you... I watch your show everyday and even record when I am home because you make me smile so much that I can look back on it later in the day or share it with my significant other.... You are truly an inspiration.... I hate to watch T.V. but my ex girlfriend introduced me to your show and I havent missed an episode yet!! You have a beautiful personality and Im sure that you have touched many peoples lives and I just want to let you know that I see it in you that you continue it on an every day basis!!! Even though this may be a smack in the face to you like you said in your video... you do not look 50 years old... I would of never guessed... 50 is not old dont take me wrong but my Mother is 50 and she looks 50 LOL When I heard you state the other day that you was turning 50 I just couldnt believe it!!! My Mom could never break it down and dance like you do let alone hold the charismatic personality that you have!!! You are a great woman and keep making America smile!!!
