I hope that people who are misinformed about Masons and their deeds will see that we are not a "cult" or radical group that we are so often portrayed as. We do good deeds for our community and often spend countlees hours raising money for our hospitals and other charities. We do it for our community and our fellow man. I am so glad that this young man has hope and somewhat of a normal life.

Ellen,

Thanks a bunch for bringing Cody's story to a bigger segment of the American public. I am a Scottish Rite Mason from Washington D.C. as well as a Shrine Mason, and it warms my heart to see kids like Cody get the opportunity to do some of the things he likely would not be able to. There are countless stories of personal courage and triumph from kids like Cody all accross the country. The Scottish Rite also has Center for Speech and Language Disorders. There is an Eye Foundation the the York Rite Masons fund, and the Tall Cedar Mason, who give millions to Jerry's Kids every year at his Telethon. I am sure every Mason across this great nation of ours, as well as our millions of brothers around the globe, take great pride and are thankful to have the opportunity to help kids such as Cody overcome and conquer their seemingly impossible challenges. Thanks again.

Best Regards,
Carl

I knew about the many good things Masonic Shriner Hospitals do for kids but was not aware of what their Scottish Rite hopsitals do as well; thanks for sharing Ellen! If at least one family sees this video and gets their kid with needs to one of these hospitals, that would be a tremendous award!

Thanks Ellen for airing such refreshing stories as Cody's. Your show is such a nice break from the bad news we all receive on a daily basis. As a Dallas resident and mother of a son that's been treated at Scottish Rites Hospital, I REALLY appreciate the good PR you've given them with this story.

Cody's attitude and determination will take him far.

Thanks for posting Coady's story! He's such an inspiration to us all, especially those of us who struggle each day with a disability of one kind or another. I have had multiple sclerosis for 21 years, but don't let that stop me. There is nothing I can't do! I just do things a different way! There are so many things I still want to do and look at each day as an adventure conquering new feats,as Coady has done. And do it with a smile! When you smile, it makes everyone around you feel good, aand smile too! If we all could take a minute of our time each and everyday and smile at someone, this world would be a much happier place. I am glad there are people like Coady, and YOU ELLEN who make us SMILE each and everyday. It's great too that you frequently show people in wheelchairs on your show. It's nice to see people making places accessible so we too can be included and take part in things. I live in Georgetown,Ontario, Canada and I am part of the Accessibility Committee . In our small town we have accomplished much for our disabled community, not just those in wheelchairs, but those with hearing problems(we have placed closed caption on our cable channel and have interpertors for those that need them in libraries and for children playing sports),the elderly and disabled(breaking down barriers by having accessible transportation, and making more buildings accessible etc.)Each year we too run a Wheels in Motion Event to raise funds for The Rick Hansen Foundation of which 40% of what we raise goes back into the community and we have helped a young disabled girl put an elevator in her home and in 2007 the monies we raised went towards putting in a pool lift for the disabled at one of our older community pools. Each and every person can make someone happy in some shape or form. We just have to go out and do it!!I know I am a little long winded, but I too like you like to share the good we have to offer! And before I forget, have a Great Happy 50th Birthday and if I ever get down your way, I'll be sure to drop in!!Live each day to the fullest, and you get what you put into life!! So keep smiling and you'll live to be 100! Love you Ellen!

Your show lends a warm welcome to television knowing all the terrible things that are happeneing in our world. I think it is wonderful to have you in our homes. You bring so much enjoyment to all of us. It is exciting to see all the special unique individuals you find and share with us. I thank you a million for sharing some much!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLEN I don't have a video, I really don't even like to have my picture taken. I do want to wish Ellen a happy 50th birthday though and thank her for making me smile each day when I log on. One of my best friends is turning 50 as well and I wondered if Ellen could tell her happy birthday. My friends name is Joanie and when I got divorced this year, after 25 years of marriage she was there for me. She knew how I didn't do well with accepting help from people so she did things I couldn't refuse like. Leaving gift certificates for the local pet store for "Fenway" my 160 lbs great dane so I could by dog food. Or knowing when my son was home on break from college and leaving me gift certificates for us to go out to dinner. Soooo Happy Birthday to Joanie and to Ellen you both have hearts of gold and the ability to make me smile!

I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DANCING! It's great!
I am looking for more information on the sister who raised money for the Autistic Reasearch. She sells bracelets, and I want some!
I have worked with Autistice children and adults, and I think this is a wonderful cause!

Thanks for all you do, Ellen.

God bless and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May He grant you peace! Amen.

Thank you for doing this show, Cody is such an amazing kid and such an ispiration to others. March 1, 2007 my 19 year old brother was working construction when he was hit by a car. He lost both of his legs, one above the knee the other through the knee. His favorite things to were dance and skate board. After watching your show today i know my brother will be able to do the things he loves again. Thank You

Hi Ellen! I missed your show last Friday! But glad there's videos up here. Cody's story is amazing. Such a brave soul. Thank you for sharing his story with us. There's a story that I'd love to share with you but I guess you have to get the book yourself "Courage to Survive" by Dennis Kucinich. It's available on amazon. Jay Leno has read the Congressman's life story and I believe it touched him. He stopped joking about the Congressman after learning about his story. Of all the candidates for President that we have right now, I believe that you should hear his story coz his story is unique among those who are running from office. He himself had personally experienced poverty. And his past had made him courageous to face life right now. Even now, he won't give up even he polls single digits because this man is truly dedicated to serve the public. Hope you invite Dennis Kucinich to be on your show, chat about his book, his life not necessarily politics. And you'll know this man is real just like you are. Thank you.
