My Thought...And I Do Have One

WAITER, THERE’S A BLOG IN MY SOUP!

I like soup a lot, but I don’t normally order it for my main course. Some people do. I don’t understand why you would want something that’s only liquid, unless your mouth’s been wired shut. I’d rather just have a vodka. How was soup invented? It was probably someone who spilled a glass of water on their dinner plate. “What a clutz! Now my dinner is …delicious!” I saw cold fish soup on a menu once. I don’t like my fish too cold. I like it broiled or grilled – some times poached, but not cold and clammy. Unless it’s clams.

And I also don’t like gazpacho, which to me is exactly like salsa without the chips and margaritas. They also have cold melon soup. You shouldn’t make soup out of melon – that’s just juice in a bowl. It doesn’t make sense. You wouldn’t make ice cream out of meat. Although, on a hot day, nothing sounds more refreshing than a porksicle or a roast beef float.

Dear Ellen

I am an ardent fan of yours here from Australa and try to watch your show whenever possible. However, I am dissapointed in most of you as hosts because I believe the one issue that is so important is not being addressed and that is the plight of the moon bears in China. I happened to see a documentary last weekend about a women called Jill Robinson who is virtually giving up her life for these bears in an attempt to help them from their 24 hour a day suffering. They need money (lots of it) to close down those horrific farms where most of these bears are kept in cages for up to 20 years. They often cannot sit up or stand up in their little cages. One poor bear spent 18 years on his back without being able to move or sit up. It is about time that this horrific farms are shut down. You are so popular that maybe through your programme you might be able to save some bears and open the eyes of people to what is happening. You are an animal lover and could help. I have written to Oprah on at least 4 occasions to no avail, hope you can help. Please let me know if you intend using this on your show so that I can wath it. In the meantime
all the very best to you and hope one day you might come to Australia as I would love to meet y ou.

What ever happened to that cooking competition show where they got rated on presentation,taste, complexity... time?... something like that... I know one is definately graded on presentation but am unsure on the other 3?... taste is one for sure.

Well hey there and a Merry Christmas to ya from Wisconsin! I just wanted to let you know, like everyone else, that you are great. My 13 year old daughter makes sure her homeschooling is done so that she can watch you (and her soap opera). Then, she updates me when I return from work. My 70-something parents also think you are a hoot! My mom says "That Ellen-you know she's a lesbian-(she says that part in a whisper), but she seems like such a nice girl." This cracks me up- I think " So most lesbians aren't nice?!?!" Anyway, I also love you and your show. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday because you do so much for so many!

It has now been 15 years since my family decided that they didn't want me around anymore. This includes my mother and father and brothers. My own children wont talk with me either. These days I work as a live in counselor for a couple of Disabled Women and if it wasn't for the work that I do I don't know where I would be. I try to keep myself busy so I don't think about how really sad my life is. I have found that the lose of family in my life as changed how I see life. I use to think that in time all of this would change or maybe it was just a bad dream that I would wake up from, but its not and I don't wake up. If I had one wish in this life it would be that no one would ever have to be where I am at in life and that this could be a "Do Over". Thank you Ellen for the laughs and making me smile.

I'm writing to see if the winner of my karaoke fund raiser, Natassja, could appear on your show. I have had a fund raiser for my partner, who died of pneumonia three years ago the day after Thanksgiving, for the past three years, raising over $5,000 for a LGBT high school student going on to college. Three recipients have received $1,000 from the Ricardo Correa Foundation. The winner of the karaoke contest, the judges' choice award, went to a young, Whitney Houston-like singer, Natassja, who sang unbelievably! You'd be very happy to hear her, I'm sure! Plus, if you want to meet the two gay students and one female GLBT ally who have won the awards, I could get you their names and phone numbers.

Ellen, I play your Solitaire game almost every day. Please, have someone in your employment play it..Every *&^%%$# game, the card on a tranfer doubles up, goes backward, and will permit a cancel the game. Can you operate the game so on a click a card goes up to the Ace sequence pile?Other solitaire games do this.. Thank you..I await your reply...Happy holidays....

I just want to say thank you for making me laugh everyday. I recently had back surgery and was pretty upset that I could not do much, but watching your show has helped me so much because I am able laugh and smile. I love your show, and look forward to seeing it each and everyday. I even use my DVR so I can watch it over again on the weekends. I think you are an amazing person with a huge heart, so thank you again.

My son Kadin loves watching you dance, especially when you dance over your table before you sit down.

I am a dialysis patient in SLC Ut and watch your show during dialysis to help my treatment go better. I had polysistic kidney which ruined my kidneys. I am waiting for a kidney match for a transplant. I have waited since April of 2007 and we haven't found a match yet for me. I have had my kidneys removed which makes my life very frusterating. I didn't want to write you for a pity party Just To Thank you for your show. It really makes the time at dialysis fly by.
I was impressed with your 12 day give away. WOW! what a difference you can make in the life of your veiwers. Thanks Your Great!
