My Thought...And I Do Have One

LEFTOVERS

There are going to be a lot of leftovers after the holidays. Roasts, casseroles, desserts. Is fruitcake technically a leftover if it never was opened in the first place? I never have any leftovers. I eat everything on my plate except the plate. Unless I’m eating a tostada and the plate is a tortilla – then I’ll eat the plate, too. I think it’s great that if people don’t eat all their food, they save it for later. “Waste not, want not” is my motto. My motto used to be, “If I don’t waste anything, I won’t want anything” but it sounded better shortened. If I don’t eat something, it’s probably because I didn’t like it. “Excuse me Waiter, I can’t eat this chicken. It’s too dry – could you wrap it to go, for me?” “But first, could you give it a drink of water?”

I also just want to thank you Ellen for keeping the show going with the strike, despite the heat from media!! I think they all should apologize to you, since now all of sudden they are all coming back despite a resolution to the strike. You cared for your fans and the other employees working hard for their families and I appreciated what you did!! Keep on Ellen.... Have a Happy New Year!! :)

Hi Ellen, I love your show and watch it every chance I get.I never want to miss your dance..I lovvvvvvve it.You can dance!!!My family spent our Christmas at the hospital, Bathesda hospital has a family\rec.room and we brought Christmas eve.to my son. He had a horrible accident July 30th.They say he will be a quadriplegia, we are believing he will have a total recovery..Please believe with us...This man is one in a mllion, and it's not said because he is my son, it is everyones opinion that meets or knows him.He has a sweet spirit about him and a contagious smile. All his life he has been everyones right arm.(if it's fixable he can fix it)My mom at the age of 94+ had 95 grand children and out of all of them they respect Maron the most, each and every one of them from the oldest to the youngest, they are all asking "why Marlon" I don't know wh either Ellen but I know he needs help if he ever expects to go home. He has 2 daughters & 1 son. and a great wife. His wife went to work full time but will not be able to remodel their home for him to access it.Everyone is willing to help all they can. Just since July 30th.He has spent Thanksgiving, His 50th.birthday, His 23rd. anniversy, and Christmas in his hospital bed, and will be there for New Years. This man has done so many good things in his life that I can't put them all in this letter. Back to Christmas Eve. All of my family brought the food & gifts to the hospital, Marlon was able to come down in a wheel chair for 2 hrs.He was soo happy. He is still on the respirator so he couldn't stay too long, and of course he has a trach. in so he couldn't eat or drink. He was so greatfull. Oh by the way he is a mechanic & needs his fingers !!! I know you have many many people asking favers but I would really like you to see this guy, he is one of a kind and still has a smile for everyone.I spend 6 to 10hrs.with him everyday. He has 3 brothers & 2 sisters, he is the oldest. I love you Ellen and I hope you read this..Please let me know..Thank You.. Emma Bihler / Prior Lake MN

Ellen, I hope your Christmas was blessed with family and friends filled with laughter and long
lasting memories. Is there such a thing as post
Christmas blues? There's so many people I know
who are on the cusp of losing their homes to
foreclosure. If I had the means I would help them all but I'm a poor working girl. How can one
feel good at Christmas when so many feel so bad?
This is just my comment and we all have one....

Hi Ellen,
I hope that you had a wonderful christmas, and hope that you will have a great NEW YEAR !!! I was wondering if you are still picking winners for the 12 days of christmas giveaways. I checke the sight and 9-12 have no winners posted. I registered for it everyday and hope that I am a winner. I wished that I could have been there. I watch you everyday here in Thomasville, NC., it is a small town just outside Greensboro and High Point North Carolina. I was diagnosed with MS about 4yrs ago and it has slowed me all the way down. I am not able to do much of nothing now but sit around and watch you on tv, all the energy that you have, lifts my sprits. So, just keep up the excellent work and keep dancing.

Much Love!!!!

Dear Ellen:
My wife is driving me crazy. We recently celebrated Christmas at her brother's house and she made a plea to send an email to you on her behalf because she loves you. Her birthday is Sunday December 30th. She will be 49 years old. We all know you will be 50 on January 26, the same day as her dad will be 86. She believes that is a sign that you should share your birthday with her, since you were born the same year, 1958. Please, Ellen, my wife has been through much. Make her dream come true by letting her just meet you and let her experience what it's like to be a superstar.
You can contact her at terrirogg@yahoo.com
Thanks!

Ellen, in texas we have tamales to eat for christmas. Last year I didn't have ONE. This year I had them coming out of my Ying Yang. I'm so sick of them, and today When I get to work What do you think is laying on the Kitchen Counter? LOVE YOU, LATER!!!!

hey
Ellen, soup is good for you and will help keep off the ugly pounds. But what is a pretty young lady like yourself doing to keep yourself healthy and fit? The unfinished burger, fries, or chicken will not help your figure or cholesterol. I should know. I don't eat well, or exercise enough. I'm one of those people who needs a constant diet or workout buddy. If you should ever get plump and need a little workout, call me and I'll watch. If I'm really feeling plump I may join you. Be safe and eat healthy in 2008. I think that is going to be my New Years resolution. Love and Peace, anita

p.s. I'm 50 yrs. old, 5ft.5 and weigh a whopping 166. Plump is not pleasant. You should try wearing a fat suit and seeing what it's like. Think about it!

Hey Ellen. I would love to send you a copy of my book of poetry, "A Rose Petal Taking the Heat." Many say it's really good. If I can't mail you a copy, it is available at Barnes and Noble.com or Authorhouse.com. But as a gift from my appreciation of you as a person with lots of heart and talent, I would love to give you a signed copy. Can I be provided with a mailing address to send you a copy?

Thanks for all the laughs and tears.

ELLEN ELLEN ELLEN ELLEN ELLEN Please read this.... Everyone knows how you have a way with making miracle's happen.. Well this is something every mom or dad would love to see. We all know how great it is to help out our local schools raise money by saving canned soup and veg labels and we love to see the happy little faces of our children when they get to take that baggie full of labels to school, they feel proud and like to show all the kids and teachers how many they brought in. okay.. the dilema.... wouldnt it be nice if the labels came with a zip strip or a tear-a-long the side right down the label? I am a mother of 4/5 counting my husband saving time for moms who love to make those hotdish meals but dont have time to chip away with afingernail or that sharp knife or scissors that might stab the person next to you. Please save us all.. some of those parents dont take the time to do the labels because of that reason. Wouldnt it be great to see the happy children excited to go to school and give those labels, and how great for the schools to collect millions more!! The kids could enjoy it as well. Thank-You Ellen and I hope someone reads this letter and finds they know what I am talking about. By the way my husband thinks Im crazy for sending this to you. I just say you just wait Ellen can make anything happen!!!!!!!! Happy Holidays.
