Bad Santa Pictures

Every Tuesday a member of the Ellen staff is selected to bring in an old picture of themselves. (We call it Photo Tuesday) Today our costumer, Elise Archer, brought in a bad Santa photo of her own. Elise says, "All I know is that I wasn't keen on the idea of sitting on his lap from the moment I laid eyes on him." If you want to see more bad Santa photos, check out our bad Santa gallery.

Hi Ellen, my name is Darlene and want to express how many heart warming postings you get that touch my heart and as many others I am sure. I really enjoy watching your show and state you really know how to entertain. I don't mind trying to find George Clooney for you, he is from Ohio across the river from where I use to live in KY. I wanted to state I have a friend, Brenda who will do anything for anyone. She has the biggest heart and when she is tired she doesn't complain. She works 10 - 12 hour days, supports her family and does not have much times for herself. I know this may sound selfish but I would like to see Brenda be showered with love and happiness on your show, 12 Days of Christmas and have someone acknowledge her and pamper her for the holidays. She deserves the best of all worlds, her love for family and friends go way beyond with no limit.
Thank you .... Darlene

Ellen,

I have several e-mail, would like reciepient of give aways. I am 54 years of age and have always been very healthy up to two years ago when hurt on my job. I raised 4 children with high education to whom i now have be rely on them for support due to my injuries. I have had several surguries and am ashamed because i no longer have the self-esteem I onced had. I had to start over due to an ex-husband who was on drugs. I was thrown out into the street with my kids with no car, job, home due to him. I lould love to be on your life taping show. and /or qualify for your 12 days of christmas taping. I am willing to work for you doing anything. Moping floors, stand outside waiting for George Clooney, anything to have a job so I can regain my self-esteem and not burden my kids to support me. Maybe you can share to your friends of any job i will do. I will move to Ca to do this. Please give me a chance. I love your show and know you are the most giving perons I have ever known. I know you will do what you can to help me out. To start over at 54.

I will do anything, even wash your car, hold your hand, dance with you, warm your coffee, take care of your puppies. mow your lawn. Anything.

with love Rose Marquez

Dear Ellen,
I taught first and second graders for 36 years
and retired in 2004. I enjoyed subbing until I fell on January 9, 2007 receiving a compound fracture and since then have been unable to stand long enough to
go back to the love of teaching . But because of this I have been able to enjoy watching your show. While I taught I never got home in time to see it.
I have discovered how humorous and likable you are. Your "down to earth" quality shows easily through your ease and rapport with the audience.
There are four sisters in my family and since I am the baby of 9 children, my eldest sister was in college by the time I came along. She was the reason I went into teaching. She taught first grade for 30 years before she retired. She is also a cancer survivor since 1990-hooray! Unfortunately she now has frontal-lobe dementia and does not really know any of us.She lives in the state of Washington and therefore I do not get to see her and it does no good to call so I get info through her children. The last time we all were together was when her husband of 51 years passed away four years ago. My other sisters live all on the west coast also so the phone is used alot because I prefer to hear their voices rather than to use the computer.
I do not really know why I am sharing all of this with you except to say I would like to see a show on dementia and alzheimers to help friends and families of such patients to learn how to cope. The day on which she hugged me and thanked me for attending my brother-in-laws funeral and I asked if she knew who I was, was the toughest moment in my life, included our own parents' passings.
Keep up the type and quality level of shows which I am enjoying. Blessings always come to those who share their own blessings with others.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Gann

Hi
Just wish to say that I have only just switched on to your show from Canada. And find it fun and entertaining.
I am waiting for chemo blah blah after full meal deal boob job and lymphs..ouch....not great as left a little long and too fit and proud to visit doctor.
Family are in Aus and hubby away a lot so too much time googling unhappy cancer sites.
Anyway, sick of vacuuming the toaster so surfed to see what was mildly interesting on TV.
Have you ever done a segment on wigs for cancer patients? Something fun and uplifting.

Only thing that my husband asks is that you turn down the audience yell factor.
He takes off for the bathtub.
It is funny that as I write this you are doing a segment on breast cancer survivors...wow.

Keep the positive vibes of the show to continue.

Dear Ellen, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE..
My name is Patricia Torchetti, and I just wanted to give you a word of warning this letter to you comes from my HEART not my writing skills...
My friend and neighbor Leslie Cervo is one of your BIGGEST CANADIAN FANS, She LOVES you. This letter to you is for her to have a dream she truly deserves come true. You see about 10 months ago this family’s good luck turned around for the worst. Leslie’s dad was diagnosed with colon cancer and went through treatment and things seemed to be ok for the moment. But with a cruel twist of fate both her parents lost their jobs with only a couple of years before they were to retire. They had been at their jobs for over 20 years, and as you can imagine, they were devastated. It seemed unfair to have this happen at such a great time in their lives. Leslie just had a beautiful baby daughter, and her sister Susan has two beautiful boys and one on the way. Life wasn’t that great, but at least they had one another, until one week before Leslie’s mothers 58th birthday November 24 2007, her mother died suddenly, with no warning from a heart attack. They never got the chance to say good-bye to her. They thought she would be ok and coming home. Her mother was such a beautiful woman and I had the pleasure to have her part of my life. Knowing how close their family is, it was the biggest blow to them they could have ever imagined. My friend would not be able to pick up the telephone just to talk her mom again like she would do everyday. Leslie’s mom was the LOVE that kept her family together. Leslie and her sister Susan’s children will not have their grandmother there to be apart of their life’s. Leslie’s father as you can imagine is lost and bewildered to this day. He lost his greatest love of all and still tries to understand it. It was the most devastating travesty. She was gone and understandingly this family can not fathom their lives without her. Getting through Leslie’s daughter’s first birthday December 18, 2007, Christmas, and New years was truly heartbreaking. I wish I could say that this story has ended but there is more. In early 2008 Leslie’s brother-in-law was in a ski-do accident and is now in a wheelchair. We were at the hospital when he arrived by helicopter after the accident and were terrified that we were going to loose him. God bless he is still with us and getting more healthy every day with the support of his family and fiends. There is more….
Leslie’s father is again having problems with his cancer and is going through a rigorous amount of test. Leslie goes to appointments with her dad and gives him amazing support. I have such admiration and respect for this family and no words could really express the love, and loyalty they have for one another. I wish that my friend has not had to endure so much pain. No one person deserves to have this much sadness in their lives in such a short time.
Just recently Leslie and her husband Gino went to the Sick Kids Gala and there were tickets to your show being auctioned off. They went for an amazing 11 thousand dollars, and way out of her league. So this is the part where I come in. PLEASE, PLEASE could you see it in your heart to have Leslie come to your show and meet you? She deserves a bit of happiness in the world that has really let her down lately.
I will say thank you in advance for reading my letter, and may your show continue great success.

PEACE
Patricia Torchetti

Morning Ellen.

My name is Gee and I live in the UK. Recently I sarted watching your show, as it is shown at 6a.m each morning. I am sooooooooooooooo addicted. I used to dread getting up for work and running around after my toddler so early in the mornings. Now I just relax and enjoy your show. It ends just as I leave for work, so I alwys have a huge smile on my face as I walk out of my front door. You seem such a honest and caring person and I applaud your work. Take care and thank you for brightening my days.......

I'm sorry, it sound's like I'm complaining, when there's people in worst shape than me. anyway, keep up the good work, and may god bless you,for who you are. love ya, june
