My Lunch...And I Do Have One

If you could only hear my lunch photographer, Andy, try to coax the most natural poses from my lunch. "Okay chicken piccata, pan fried with shallots, white wine and capers, show me what you've got." "You're beautiful, baby, let your star power shine through." It's actually quite a production with the lights and makeup people. Andy really knows how to get the best out of my vegetables. "Stir fried carrots and beans, let the wind blow through your hair. That's it. Show me some stem." "Mushroom couscous, give me a nice pout. you're sultry but aloof." Sometimes it can be a little annoying waiting till they're done so that I can eat. But for a super sexy lunch like this, it's totally worth the wait.

Enjoy your lunch

Ellen

Ellen,
Do you really eat this stuff for lunch? Isn't it cold by the time you eat it, since they have to photograph it first...?
It looks good, but I don't think it'd taste good cold.
I suppose you could microwave it after they've taken it's picture, lol
Hugs,
T

Ellen's lunches look so delicious and healthy! With so much reliance on fast food and the tendency to overindulge with supersized portions, viewers should look to these lunches as a winning example of balance and good health.

If everyone took the time to plan and prepare meals like Ellen's, the overweight epidemic in this country might not be as worrisome. Sure, not everyone has chef Sean at their beck and call, but with a few healthy staples (chicken breast, bagged salad, instant brown rice, whole grain rolls, etc), making a diet friendly lunch is a snap.

Ellen just LOVES, LOVES, LOVES animals!

Especially for lunch!

Hey Ellen -- why don't you share a SCAB sandwich with some of your sycophantic fans!?!?

Hi, everybody!

believe or not. Since I discovered organic food, I eat almost the same like Ellen apart the meat. She cannot take her fingers of the meat :)

i bet your chicken LOVED having its beak cut off, injected with TONS of antibiotics, then stuck in a room so full of chickens it can't even turn around.

then i bet it also loved growing 5 times its normal weight in less than 6 months and finally being hung upside down and its throat slit while it was still alive.

yum.

Gerry van rooj is funny. You should have her on your show! also, I have no idea what all the Iggy talk is about. And I just don't have the time to read all these blogs. I do know that I've been thinking about getting a new dog myself, that I'm ready to let go of the dog I put to sleep nearly 6 yrs ago , when she wasn't even ready to go. I had to put myself and my children in a women's shelter to protect us from an abuser. I found places for the rest of my animals, including our pet chickens. But I felt I had no choice. She was too old (14). was petrified of kennels due to her own neglect experiences when I tried to put her up for adoption when she was younger (as a wedding present a friend of mine "adopted" her and brought her back to me.) Anyway, I've been carrying around her ashes for a few weeks now in the car, (no conscious reason why, just been feeling like I needer her strength and comfort she used to provide me by being around), and have visited the beach (on my way home from er visits) she and I spent countless hours walking when she was a puppy and I was a confused, hurting, yet looking for answers to why we're all here time in my life. (20 yrs ago to be exact)
I almost let her go at the beach the other day, but my current physical condition and the wisdom that said no, you need to do this with the boys because they didn't get to say goodbye to her....this prevented me. So I told her that I would soon let her go, and she could rest peacefully at the place she loved the most. I also started feeling later that day that when I did let her go, she would come back to me, in another dog. We have a little puppy mill snauzer that we rescued from a pet store. I ended up getting all my money back for her since she was so sick. that was 10 years ago. She is a part of our family and we used to take turns with her at night (she sleeps right on the pillow, with those popcorn feet right up against your face!) until she became a permanent sleep partner for my 5 year old when she got her own bed. I miss sleeping with her, smelling her little paws, and feeling that warm, soft body against my skin. Talk about ecstasy! and ultimate comfort! Only true doggers can relate!
so someday when I work again and don't have to rely on the government for money and food (I'm on disability), I will go to an animal shelter, and my Tara, I know, will be waiting for me....

Hi Ellen and Staff

Do you want to try out something new? Then eat some wild boar with stir fried wild mushrooms. Put the wild boar roast in a 160 degree Celsius oven (320 degree Fahrenheit)until the internal temperature reaches 75 degrees Celsius (167 degree Fahrenheit). Stir fry some wild mushrooms with a little salt & pepper and a few drops of lemon. Then mix it up with some wild rice… Yummy

Velbekomme! (Which is Danish for “Enjoy your lunch”)

By the way… I LOVE “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”… and I just bought your books “My Point… and I do Have One” and “The Funny Thing is…” as an early Christmas gift for myself… Thank You for making the day more fun :D

Greetings from Denmark

Ellen, the great "animal rescue expert" needs to take a remote crew to the Animal Control shelter at 110th Street in New York City when she is here, and see how many thousands of cat and dogs, kittens and puppies are going to be killed for lack of adoptive homes. Purebreds and mixed breeds of all ages and sizes. They are all being killed basically because ignorant assholes still choose to buy their pets from puppymill petstores or breeders. You want to save some animals lives, Ellen? Take a walk through the shelter here. It will take your mind off of that one little black mutt, when you see THOUSANDS of dogs that are slated to DIE TOMORROW. And after that, you can stroll through the cat room...

Ok, this one is for the die hard fans. Some time ago Ellen wore a t-shirt with a leaf logo on it. Very simple. It had 6 segments that made up a leaf and one was a different color. I have seen many celebs wear them. What are they for? I assume a cause, but which one? I am drawn to them for some reason. Not sure why. One of the guys on "Brothers & Sisters" wore one too on that show. Help anyone.
