I live in very close to Janice Wolf in Arkansas, in fact I talked to her today about a problem I have with a animal horder that lives next to me in Baxter Co. I am so upset with these people but no one in will help me stop them. I am talking 30+ small horses, 20+ very large dogs, and sheep that live in a space of app. 100ftx75ft. and oh yes many cats, in fact the Human Society just gave them another cat last week, I am only told that as long as they have water and food there is nothing they can do about these poor little animals but watch them run back and forth and fight with each other for space. If anyone out there can tell me why I haft to watch and hear these poor little ones and why the State of Arkansa will do nothing, I am willing to listen. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP US. Linda
So glad to see all is going well and that the animals have new shelter etc.
It's kind of funny I googled my name for news stuff about my brother's tragic end in Thailand and this came up. My brother was also an avid lover and cared for animals. He was always rescuing in thailand.
Take Care Janice

Heyy i think wat your doing for those animals is one of the most inspirring things in the world. I had a question about the large horned animal. what is it. the reddish one with the gigantic horns extending to the side???
Just wanted to let you know that so many people love you, Ellen. You can't make everyone happy ... but you Ellen, you got about 95% of us laughing, dancing, singing and loving you!
Hi Ellen,
I live in Flippin, AR, not far from Janice, I've known her for a few years now and am a mutual 'animal' lover (even bought a llama from her one year). I just found out about all this the other day and am thrilled for her. I know she's come a long way with her dream and hope it continues. She's a wonderful and caring person and has done great things for animals in this area. That watusi is amazing - you'll have to see him in person!
Nancy
Janice I also wanted to say I am touched by your kindness and maybe your story will inspire other people to take in their own misfits they are always more interesting than any perfect purebred.
My husband and I love animals. We have 3 dogs and 3 cats. All were abandoned and odd. Over the years we have found homes for dozens of pets that thoughtless people threw away and I think that Ellen's passion for animals sets her apart from the herd, also though her interest in helping people who have been overlooked makes her a person of great value. There are many others out there with pulpits who seem to waste their time attacking the wrong people. It seems that even if you don't totally agree with Ellen you would be able to see that if she eats KFC for dinner but saves animals from killed in a pound that would redeem her even in a vegan's eyes. I am part Cherokee and have been raised to believe in balance. We should be humane even to the animals we eat. In words everyone should recognize CIRCLE OF LIFE.
hello again. could ypi pleasesend metheinformation about theorganization that is helping janice. I know that thewrodzoo is in it, but i can'tremember theentireaddress. thank you again, your friend karen.
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION THAT IS HELPING JANIS, THE ANIMAL SAVIOR? I KNOW A WOMAN WHO IS IN NEED OF HELP, ALSO.
Hi Rita,
Her e-mail is lurch372003@yahoo.com.
It may take her a couple of days, as she doesn't have a computer at the refuge. I wrote and she did kindly respond.
I am so sorry for your cat troubles. It is so stressful...I know. It would be so much easier if they could talk :( I went through something simular, I had noticed she (Lulu-belle)was padding alot (when they purr and push their front paws like they are happy). The vet said they do that also to comfort themselves when they have pain??
I hope all turns out for Coco. The main thing to know is she has a loving and caring owner. In the big picture love is the best thing you can give.
Best Wishes
Mary-Jane
We have 2 well loved cats living in our business for 11 yrs and are greatly loved by our staff and customers. Our long haired tortie named "Coco" has been ill for quite some time. She has lost a lot of weight & has difficulty digesting anything. Blood tests show elevated liver enzymes. Xray's and tests came out fine. We've tried special foods & meds. The next recommended step is exploratory surgery which we don't want for her. She gets very stressed when leaving the office. Coco still has her fun, spunky attitude but is very hungry all the time. She cannot keep food in. Can you please, pass this message on to Janice Wolf? We understand that she may have diet plan options that would help. Thank you.
Re: Linda's comment
Now that is just silly and cruel.
I was raised as a meat-eater. Livestock raised for that purpose. I do think about it often.
That does not make us "meat-munchers" heartless, cruel or whatever twisted thing you may perceive. No...you don't have to lock up your animals. Come on?? I don't read these forums often, probably because comments such as this are really uncalled for and I have a hard time not saying anything. Just as I won't turn a blind eye to an animal, child etc. in need.
My question to you is what are you doing of value? Add something positive or get a job with the paparazzi. It will be much more respected than a comment to someone that has so much focus and heart to all things good. The woman has tremendous morals. It shows it daily.
Pass "something" forward. Maybe an apology. It's good for the soul.
Phew!!!!! I better stay off here.
BTW...I am kind of surprised at the thousands++ of comments posted for free stuff and only 60 on this topic?
Janice, I hope the exposure allows you to continue the great things you do for all the critters.
Janice --
You should probably keep Ellen away from your sanctuary cause she is likely to try and eat them. You see, Ellen pretends she loves animals but she really loves them dead on her lunch/dinner plate.
Linda
Hi everybody,
I would like to thank you all for the nice comments regarding my segment on Ellen. I do have a website-www.rockyridgerefuge.com for those who were asking. Happy Thanksgiving to all and remember everyday should be a reason to give thanks! Janice Wolf and the animals.
Hi,Ellen.I wish i would have seen the show on Janice. She sounds like a really caring person. I am so glad that you helped her to help the animals.I myself have helped many animals over the years as we don't have an animal shelter here in the city where I live. I have a few cats because of this! People need to SPAY & NEUTER their animals so that their aren't so many homeless ones. Animals bring so much love & joy into our lives. I really appreciate all that you do for the animals. That is just one reason I Love you and your show! Sherlen Camrose AB Canada.
Whuuuuuut? Ellen and staff, what this lady does for animals is just terrific, and for you guys to step up and help her out with the food supply was super. I'm sure it made her day, but aswell as for everyone who was watching. Thanks alot for all that you guys do. Love SHORTY!
What a truly wonderful woman Janice is. This is really giving out of love. I have rescued several animals myself and one I was too late for. I wrote Janice an e-mail (she does have an e-mail addy) poured out my bucket of tears doing so, and she answered back. I wanted to take home this little uncared for nanny goat..she had a beard...so so cute! I went back and saw her in a tractor shovel of garbage. I was too late. I will never forget that moment that I didn't act quick enough on.
My advice, follow your intuition and let your heart guide you to what is right. Don't walk away waiting fo another day to come...as in my situation that day never did and I will always carry that burden. Gee Whiz!!! Crying again! Oh well! That's the least I can do. My actions today and in the future will be because of that changing moment.
Thank you Janice for doing the "bittersweet" work you do. The flip-side to that is, is how many heartbreaking stories between saves you must have to endure. I commend you for being able to continue!!!
Ellen, thank you for recognizing all the wonderful creatures of the world who would otherwise have no hope. I can't think of a better spokesperson.
All The Very Best!
Mary-Jane (now I need a Kleenex,Vodka and my bed)
I am so glad Ellen featured Janice Wolf on her program last week. Having visited Rocky Ridge Refuge many times, it nice to see her hard work finally recognized. She is every bit the sweet lady you saw on TV. She is the most selfless woman I have ever met. The house is tiny by any standards and even that is shared with the animals who for one reason or the other can not be out by themselves, ie. her blind dogs. It is wonderful what they did for her, she has been hoping and praying for a new barn for Lurch and his pals. She does not have a computer or e mail but you can view more about Rocky Ridge on a website some friends set up for her at rockyridgerefuge.com. It is amazing how all the animals coexist at rocky ridge. I asked once how is it possible for them to do that. Her answer was "they have too, it's the rules" What a wonderful lady. God Bless her!!! I hesitate to give out any personal information on line but the website has more information. I do know that any donations would be welcome and rest assured it will all go to the animals, not some guy in an office somewhere.
