Dear Ellen,

I love your show and i watch everytime doing the weekdays. My name is Junell Lewis and i am 19 years old and i attend at Virginia College taking up for Therapeutic Massage with my associate degree. I have a little girl name Samarian, 1 years old. I don't have a car or a house of my own, which i live with my aunt. I don't have support and its hard for me to get around with no car, because i want to take my little girl places in my own car instead of paying someone gas money to take me here and there. I really do need help and i am barely trying to make it, which i am taking care of my little girl by myself, but i still keep my head up high because i don't want my little girl to me hurting, i want her to see me happy.

Hello Ellen! My name is Yelena (now you know the different version of your name;) I have been living in the USA for three years. And I already feel like the USA is my home...where I belong...And I want to believe that here dreams DO come true...
Ellen, I know that here are a lot of people who need that car and I am afraid my message to you will be lost among them...
I've been depressed...I am not sure if you exactly understand my feelings. The good thing is I try not to give up. I hoped doctors could help me but they did even worse...I am 22 and I still have NO clue what do I want to do for a living...I feel myself useless...especially now....because I FINALLY figured out who do I want to become and now my depression history in medical records is ruining my dream...I will never become a CSI with history of suicidal thoughts...but it's MORE depressing!!!! Now I have to say NO to one of my dreams...I am trying not to give up because I really DO want to be optimistic...and I try to laugh (your show really does help! Actually your show starts at the same time as WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE...which was my most favorite show...it was dilemma for me which show to watch and I chose to watch your show...because it keeps me smiling) and I also read some "smart" books...and one of them said that I should try to keep myself busy all the time...that way I won't have time for bad thoughts...and that's what I want to do...I need to find myself a job...but I need a car for that! And I need to learn how to drive! I was always afraid of driving the car because there are not too many women driving in the country I am from. I finally stopped being afraid but I don't have any reasons to learn how to drive now...anyway we can't afford the car... and I am really not sure when we can buy one...and again...this thought is depressing...I finally found what can be motivating in my life and again I have things which stop me from being happy...I really do hope I can get that car and I even promise to dance with you on your show!

Thank you, Ellen and I wish you all the best!

Sincerely,
Yelena

Hello Ellen,
I love your show. I saw the SUV Hybrid you're giving away. I'm currently a substitute teacher for all grade levels in various locations around Richmond Va. Winning that car would make life a lot easier for me. I'm also looking for full-time employment and dependable transportation is a must. I love working with children. Most of my assignments have been in Special Education. I understand the needs and hardships of today's youth and try to do what I can to make life at least a little easier for them. They're "my babies". I get a lot of respect from them and they make me feel like I'm their mother or big sister as well as their teacher. Please send me a car. I'll be praying it for it too. I want to write a book called "Trying TImes, Time after Time", but I just don't have the resources. Please help with suggestions or leads. Thank you. God gave me the gift of expression and I want to share it with the world. Take care. Happy Earth Day. Sincerely, Janice Sampson-Smith (pen name Jayelle Sams)

I'm Arrianna,i'm 18,and i'm the oldest of five and i'm writing this for my mom. She is always is there for someone when they need an extra hand or a shoulder to cry on and she is always giving people rides, which has really took a tole on our on our vehicle. The battery is almost always dying and us kids are active in clubs at school and its really hard to get around in a rattleing old Ford van. It gets very embaressing for us at times when the side door doesn't want to open and we have to climb through the front door like a bunch of clowns in a circus. She needs something she can rely on for once. My dad is the only one that works and i'm writing this for my stay at home mom who could'nt probably ever afford anything like this. Please help our mom Ellen. By the way she loves your show and a call from you would make her so happy.=]

Dear Ellen,

Just heard about the car. I have been disabled since 1997, and I would love to have a new earth friendly car. I became ill in my early 30's and I was very successful, but I lost everything due to my illness. But if there is someone else that needs the car more, as I have an 13 year old car and a wonderful husband who works two jobs to help me.

Thank you for going green, I was into alternative health since college, before whole foods even existed. It is nice to see it is catching on as people use to think I was nuts, everything organic!

I am still trying everything I can to get better and still have hope I will as I have so much I want to do with my life.

Take Care,
Carol

Dear Ellen,
I think it is great how you help so many people. Me, son (Landon) and dog (Nikki) watch your show everyday and you always bring a smile to my face. I have been wanting a family suv since I had my son. Everybody has had hard times and im know a lot of them are a LOT worse than mine. Im already the luckest person on this earth because I had a lot of problems when I was pregnant. I had kidney stones and had to get a stent put in my kidney. It was very painful and I had to do it without any pain pills. I had to wait on the only dr in town.I waited 5 days and everyday they wouldnt let me have food or water cause that day might be the day that he came. Then I was on bed rest and then I was in so much pain that they had to take my son a month early. Landon Dale Harryman was born 1-15-08 at 4lbs and 15 oz and 16 in long. The reason I am the luckest person is cause he was 100% healthy and we only had to stay in the hospital 3 days. When we came home he is 5 lbs 10 oz and he is doing great. Oh and of course he is the cutest baby in the world! :) It was very scary having a baby so little but he is growing fast now and is spoiled rotten just like his daddy:) Anyway we would love to have an suv but totally understand if there is someone out there that needs it more than us. Keep up the good work Ellen. (I bet it is a great feeling helping so many people.)
Love,
Carrie, Landon and Nikki

Ellen...love your show. You are truly an inspiration. I also read your book and thoroughly enjoyed it! I think you should give the Hybrid to whomever you want. You've certainly 'earned' your position in life and lift my spirits each day! Stay well!

Dear Helen( haaa Ellen),
I do see everyday the wonderful things you do for people so I figured I'd give it another shot for my son who is a senior:) He needs a car very badly! To tell you how badly we pay extra each month on insurance for towing and we have used it 5 or 6 times in a few short months and received a nast note from our insurance company on too many tows--:) I want him to be able to concentrate on college and not vehicle problems-so please take Mark into consideration for his leadership, grades, love of people, life, and God! Okay, so I don't have any sad, tragic, or heartbreaking stories to share with you about why I am in major need of a new car....BUT, I can tell you how and why I am your biggest fan and why I would be HONORED to win the 2008 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid....

Well,as long as I can remember...since you've been on air...I have been scheduling my school schedule aorund YOUR SHOW!! My boyfriend and mom, in general make fun of me because I REFUSE to miss your show...SOOOO if I win the vehicle...I'd even be honored to have YOUR beautiful face painted on it so everyone can see when I drive around town I am your biggest fan!!!!

Oh, I am also a driver's education teacher!!! What better way to drive to work with your face on a new vehicle!! My students would just love because we always talk about what and who was on your show that day :)

My husband and I are disabled and on fixed income. Our vehicle is a 1989 Taurus, which needs some repairs. We would love to be able to travel across the United States and see all the wonderful things that can be seen, and also, be able to visit our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter who live in Colorado. I really don't think our car would be able to do that.

I know there are many other needy people out there, but decided to send in to you anyway. May you continue to be blessed for all you do for people.

Hi Ellen, How are you? That is a wonderful thing, you are doing giving away a car. There are so many needy families, I included. I am a single mother of three ( 16 yr daughter, 2 yr son, 9 month old daughter), I too have a 20 year old car on it's last legs.. I struggle day to day. But I just found out that my son has PDD, and I am devastated, nothing seems to matter but that..I can't think about anything else..it's hard to go to work and hold it together...I really, truly hope that each of these people will be blessed one way or the other. I would do anything to hear my son say mama one time. I have never heard him say that...Maybe one day, you will do a show on autism... Thank you..

Dear Ellen,
I'm writing in hopes that you can help my family,
we have recently gone through a financial hardship
due to My husband's company closing after 911,
my husband has since found a new company to work for but competition has made it hard to catch up-
and as of last year we lost our home due to
for closure, this was a home that had been in our family for 60 years, but we had moved on and excepted our situation,
we moved to a new rental unit in another town and started over, but our financial problems followed us
When we still had our home I took a loan out on my land rover to try and make a mortgage payment and of course we lost our home any ways and now I had a hefty loan to pay off on my truck which I loved dearly, but with trying to raise two kids and pay bills we had to let it go which left us with only my husbands car,
which is a 1989 corsica,
it's a car and it has gotten us where we need to go but it leaks enough water in to make frozen puddles on the floor in back where my daughter puts her feet and it has no heat so all winter my husband had to drive back and fourth to work in the freezing cold and when we dropped my daughter off at school not only was she freezing but she worried her dad would freeze on the way to work,
and she would call home crying,
But I couldn't do anything
We couldn't afford another car
we have rent due a high electric bill due
my daughter needs new clothes for school
we had to pay for heat phone
and I couldn't get a job because I had no way to get back and fourth to work,
And this is my reason for writing to you today
in hopes that maybe there might be a way for you to help us win a car,
even if it is an old car nothing special
any thing that could get me back and fourth to work so we could get out of this rut and on our feet again.
Ellen I would be greatful for a used bike right now,
any help is wonderful help-
I know that we are very lucky even in the situation we are in because we have a roof over our heads and dinner on the table every night, I also know there are other families worst off then we are and I would want you to help them first
but then when you were done maybe you could help us,
I'm not one to write in asking for help but I just don't know what else to do any more
Thank you ellen for your time in listening to me
Donna

Dear Ellen, I'm not one to ask or beg for anything.I am use to working for what we have.So I'll get right to the point. My son is in Orlando, Florida working in Epcot on the Spaceship Earth Attraction. He is there till August15th, when he graduates from his college program.I am so proud of him.He is doing so well. But,he does'nt have a decent car.The car he has at home here is a 1987 Chrysler Lebaron that is about worn out.We could not trust to drive to Florida. He will never be able to afford a newer car.we would have left him take one of our cars but, they are also old.My husband and I sold our Motorcycles so we could get him settled in Florida. Was one the hardest things we've ever done. The other was saying goodbye to him and not show him that we are worried about how we are gonna get him back home.I just wish he had a decent car to drive then he could drive home once he graduates and our worries would be over.Well Anywayyyy! Weather you get to read this or not I think you are the kindest most generous person. All you do for people is a special gift.I'm glad people realize, and see the inner you.Your kindess that you show people is truelly from the heart.Keep up the good work and showing your inner feelings. You have that special gift that people love. When you cried about the dog I also cried with you.Hope everything worked out for you with that.Unfortunately, I don't get to watch every show. But, I try to catch some. Sincerely, Gail Hawk

Ellen..... Well I'm feeing lucky these days so I'm going to put this out there.... My family really could use a new car, my current car is a 1994 Buicke Labre with over 300,000 miles on it, a shot master cylinder(no brakes, watch out!!!) and one totally flat tire. We live in an area of Michigan which is hurting due to lack of employment. Without a car I have to stay within walking distance for a job. That wasn't so bad a few years ago but just like you I turned %0 years old on March 3, 2008 and I just don't have the stamina I used to. I have currently been rediscovering my spiritual side and trying to teach my 4 children to belive in the good things in life to come your way if you ask....Well, I'm asking....Please help me to to show my children that dreams really do come true and miracles are all around us so they may pay it forward. Thank you Love and Laughter Wende McSweyn

Ellen,

Two weeks ago very good friends of my wife and I lost their house to a fire. Thank God no one was home but the dog who passed away in the fire. This family who has two young boys 10 & 7 were at school when it happened and mom and dad were at work. They had just left about 2 hours before the flames engulfed their home. They are such special ordinary people who would do anything for anybody. It really makes you wonder why does this happen to a family who is trying their hardest to provide for each other and their two boys. They would take food off their own table to help others. They could really use a new car since now they have alot of traveling to do with renting a home out of their school district which means mom needs to drive them and pick them up every day from school. Of course they can transfer them to a new school but why hurt them more then they already are. These two boys lost all their toys, clothes, puppy and everything else on this horrible day. Please give them a new lease on life and let them know other people do care.

Hi Ellen,
I saw your show about giving away a car, and I had to write you. I personally don't need a new car, but my sister could really use one. My sister got married young and had a son 8 years ago. they're whole marriage they have struggled financially. It puts a big strain on their family even though they try very hard to keep it together. My sister puts all her energy into raising her son, and always puts him first, which has kept her from getting a good job. The car she has now is a klunker and it's about to fall apart, and they can't afford to fix it or get a new car. I would love nothing more than to see her get a break for once in her life.
I would get her a car myself but they're just a little to expensive for a gift. Please help her out. She has such a good heart and tries so hard to do the right thing, but situation is always a struggle. You don't even know how much it would help.
Thanks alot

Ellen, I really enjoy watching your program daily. I saw your show yesterday about the car giveaway. I really need a car because my husband and I have only one means of transportation and we both work at different times of the day. He has to drop me off at the trainstation early in the morning sometimes as early as 6:30am. I have to ride the train back and forth between the airport and the most northern station just to kill time until it is time for me to start my job at 12:00 pm. I then work until 9:00pm. Having an additional car will give me the flexibility to work other jobs and run important errands.

hi! ellen i really need this car because i take care of my mother and need transportation to get to work and take her to the doctor's appointment's, shopping and you know errand's, and she's not physically mobile enough for the bus anymore, well thats all i have to say if you pic me oh and i love your show your so cool. Hey Ellen!!!

OMG! First of all let me just say what a big fan of yours I am. Especially recently, I'm on maternity leave so as sad as it may sound your one of the most entertaining parts of my day! Anyways so I'll give you a little inside info about me…. originally from southern California, but I'm in the U.S. Coast Guard so I've been shifted around a bunch of times. Right now I live in San Francisco, I work full time, I go to school full time, and I'm the BEST wife you could imagine! No joke I am!!! Anyways, I think I deserve this car because of everything I've done for my beautiful country, family, and myself. So Ellen Please pick me because I need to retire me broke down piece of crap car before my brand new baby comes!! Thanks in advance for picking me!=)

Dear Ellen

I was watching your show today and noticed that you were giving away a GMC truck.I immediately thought of my sister hauling all 5 of our kids to dance lessons movies or the mall on weekends that I’m not home in her beat up oil leaking 1990 Toyota Camry. You asked to say why I think she should get it , I’ll tell you. My sister is a great mother not only to her children but to mine as well. She has been sacrificing her time and money for the kids no matter how tired she feels making sure that they are fed, entertained and experiencing a happy childhood. She was only 22 when she took on the role of motherhood when I left her home alone to babysat my newborn daughter at night and having to work in the morning while I did the graveyard shift as a single mother. She accepted the challenge then and continues to live up to it as she cares for my kids and our mom when I’m at work. We often try to plan activities for the kids together my sister and I but we often have to use 2 cars which are both full of problems. We often wish we could buy a new van but neither one of us can afford one at this time. Ellen, my sister Karlyne is a giving and caring individual who will give up part of herself to make someone else happy. She deserves something great happening to her for a change. She deserves that new GMC car.

Hello Ellen,

While watching your show Monday March 25, 2008 I saw the car give away. I am writing because I am a single mother of fifty, my son is thirteen years old. I lost my job in 2005 and returned to school working toward my AA and I am planning to attend SDSU to receive my Masters.

I am currently receiving welfare benefits and my 1998 Grand Am is on its last leg. I recently had some transmission work done and I guess it was not enough. I must return my car to the shop because it is now running bad and the ransmission is out of control once more. The car shakes and sometime does not want to go forward. When driving I pray for travaling grace to return home safely. I cannot afford a car payment at this time within my budget.

My son is very active in church and must attend youth meeting and doctor visits. Living in San Diego public transportation is not very good. I need a new car but I just cannot afford a car payment at this time. I would really appreciate winning a car from you show.

God bless you and kept you.

Sincerely,
Barbara D. Price

Dear Ellen,

Please, please, please I need the new car you had on your show today. I have two children with one on the way and very soon we wont be able to fit in the same vehicle. With all the costs of living rising, it is nearly impossible for us to even think of buying a car right now. I drive a small car---but would be sure and pass that on to whoever needs it if I got a new car. My husband and I both work very hard and both are raising our children. We would really like to travel together in that spiffy red suv. Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!

So I was watching your show today(Monday March24)and you said to go to your website and tell you why I should win the car give away but I'm going to be greedy too because I think that my friends and I would be halarious to track the cross country trip from florida and well NY to LA. Maybe to get the car I have to do that too but I don't know if so that'll be great. Well to be blunt, here goes my sappy sad story...My mother has been a single mother for all that I can remember even when she was married she a was single mother. Since her divorce when I was 16 and now I am 25 all I can remember was her giving and giving and giving. And I thought that it's time to give back with your help. I would do it myself but well I don't have the money to do so. She was laid off from her job about a month ago and still can't find one in her field. It's been hard on her since we moved from LA less than a year ago so money is tight b/c we spent most of it moving to Florida. Her car is over a decade old and about to go. It would be hard b/c it would be alot it fix but it would be a blessing if I did win the car to give to her. So yea that's why I think that I should win the car...maybe that smile I know will start to come back. Please consider my sappy sad story strongly pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaase. And oh yea you rock I watch you as much as I'm able to!

I'm really hoping this the chance of a lifetime for my friend Amber to get a new car! Her husband JUST got back from the military and they have one small, old, kia that often won't start for their whole family. She has two kids and she's pregnant with their third. He decided to go back to school full time (and work part time) so he get a better job for his family. They live in a very small house and will just have enough room for their family, but with the new baby they won't be able to fit everybody in their only car and simply have nothing else to drive until he finishes school in two years. I always said if I won a bunch of money I would buy them a larger vehical, they need it so badly. She wants to spend her life raising her boys and doing charity work. There's not a nicer more needy family that I've ever known. They despritally need a vehical so they can all go places together and SAFELY. There income is very limited and they live very modestly but happily because they are high school sweet hearts and have set to make their life together through thick and thin. Please help them. Thank you so much!

Ellen,

Hey Girl! I'm Kendall Avery, from Columbus, Georgia. I try and watch the show every morning. You remind me so much of my self, but I am A.D.D. really bad. But anywho I am writing about the car. You sure do have a big decision to make... But ok I want to win the car for my Mother Lori, she loves your show too. But yeah she works as a Cafeteria lady for a high school. My family is what you call poor, not dirt poor, but poor, lets just say I am the Queen shopper of the GoodWill. My Mother is always helping others, she has a kind heart. She was there for me when I struggled through high school when I found out I had A.D.D. She pushed me through school, she gave to me and my sister Devin when she had barely nothing to give putting her needs aside for her childern. My mom is so deserving of this opportunity she has never had a new car, we buy used cars. I want to give back to her so thanks!

I have a good idea you can pick the people that really deserve the car and have a contest where they have to see how long they can keep their hands on it, you can get like two cars and the last person w/ their hands on the car Wins!!! I am willing to do what I have to for my mom.

LOVE YOU ELLEN!!! It would be so fun to cohost w/ you!!!!

peace out Kendall Avery!

Ellen,

I am writing to try to win a car not for me, but for my Daughter.
I am 64 years old and my Daughter has been a sinle Mother for 19 years.
She has never had much money and has had two car stolen so I help buy her three over the past years so she could get to work and my two grand children to school. Never a new one never one any
newer than 10 years old.

Finally my Grand Daughter wanted her Mom to be homa she could not because she had to work, so my daughter also lost her Daughter because she went to live with her father.

I would love the car, but I would love for sherry to have it more.

Sherry can't buy clothes or furniture (new) but she still remains proud!

I would be for ever grateful if you can help

Ellen,
Hey! I can't even imagine being given this opportunity to write to someone like you to beg for a new car. I wont beg, but I will tell you my story.
I'm a 19 year old Freshman at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA---with just about every dream in the world. The problem? My just about to die Ford Escort is holding me back from alot of those. Moving from the suburbs of Allentown to North Philly has been a huge change on its own- the hardest part not having my car there, no...not because I'm scared to have it in such a "ghetto" place, but because I'm scared it will die on the way =[ This, alone is creating a HUGE problem in allowing me to get a job in Philadelphia to help me save money to pay for school & other school expenses (books!). Although City's have transportation systems, myself being a young woman would not feel comfortable on a subway by myself. Secondly, I dream of doing the college program in Disney World next summer (summer of 2009), but I desperately want to drive down instead of Fly. I feel very lost & isolated without having a car nearby, and just about find it impossible to live. Once again, driving from PA to FL, I can kiss my present car goodbye; probably when Im about 200 miles from home. Having a car in Florida would not only make me feel more comfortable; it would allow me to explore, discover, and volunteer in the FL area.
Ellen, I ask for this favor to help me through my college years so I can achieve everything I would like too---(with as minimal student debt as possible; hence I'm paying 2/3 of my own tuition) so that one day I can give back to my community as well.
Thanks so much!!
Kim

Hi Ellen, I know you get a lot of emails from everyone. I am a genuine fan of yours, especially with the dancing girl. I would love to see you do a dance with Reggae music or dance the soca (whine your waist and hips and get down real low)...LOL. Keep on doing what you do to make people happy and laugh. All the best with your show.

Thanks Ellen,

Hello Ellen! I have just recently started watching your show! What a hoot you are! You are such a talented young woman and you always put a smile on my face - and I tape your shows every day so that I can watch them at night!

About the car...I read all these requests, and I too, am not rich, but feel blessed because I DO have a dependable car. So, I'm not asking for the car. What I AM asking is that perhaps you, or someone you know, can start a nationwide movement to have a bill passed so that all of us little people out here can have CAR EXPENSES, CAR REPAIRS as TAX WRITE OFFS! They are such an ESSENTIAL in life to keep our jobs - without them, we are sunk. Couldn't we at least have the REPAIRS, at a minimum, as tax write-offs??? I suggested this, in writing, 20 YEARS AGO to the Pennsylvania Congressmen...and NEVER got a reply!

Again, thanks for all that you do and keep up having the fun!

Hi Ellen,
I watched the episode when you gave a woman a new car. Wow only in my dreams wold that happen to someone like me. I see it happening to real people but it all seems surreal. I dont think i would ever be able to have that happen to me. I do surveys and do everything to enter to win a car because you never know, but like i said it never happens to me. All i actually get is people calling me with my info trying to sell me something! IIIII!!! I want to scream when that happens! Im 29 yrs old and am a recovering addict. Im doing all I can to stay sober by driving everyday 2 hrs away to get to the clinic that keeps me grounded. Im a single woman with a 11 yr old son who means the world to me. But my car is falling apart and thats my main source of survival for me and him to get to school. Without a car I wouldnt beable to stay clean. Ive tried to get take homes from the clinic so I wouldnt have to travel everyday but to no avail. Theres people who want this and that all the time and I see them winning or someone who has money and 3 cars just to win another one and it makes me hopeless. One day soon hopefully I will win that car even if its a small box as long as its new, it be awesome Ellen if it was from you.

Dear Ellen,
My mother-in-law is an avid viewer of your show and told me about it. I am writing on behalf of my thoughtful and kind relatives-by my new marriage to a wonderful and amazing man. I desperately need a vehicle as I do not own one. I am a mother of five children now, three of them being my own who I am fighting for custody of. I have used all of my savings and loans from family and friends to help with attourny fees and have no way to purchase even a used vehicle. I am a combat medic in the Army Reserve and my husband is on disability. Even in the hardest of times he has stood by me right along with his family. I rarely ask for help but find I need to at this time, please consider not for myself but for those who have supported me with their time, love and devotion showing me what family really means. My children and my husband need a vehicle most of all as they deserve much more than what I want to give them-CAN YOU HELP ME MAKE THIS WISH COME TRUE?

Sincerely a Humble Viewer,
Lynne Maksem

He would give his last bite of food to whoever needed it. I am 8 years older than he is and he takes such good care of me. His truck is old but right now we can't buy a car, he is out of work and is going to school and I am on Disability. What a great surprise that would be if you pick him to win. Top 'o the mornin' to ya Ellen!
So let me tell you about my bad car day! Our Toyota Tercel (which we swindled my brother-in-law out of for $150.00 last year) decided to commit seppuku by gracefully throwing itself under the bumper of a large truck during the ice storm last month. The car had major front end damage, but the engine still ran. We wouldn't give up on this one of a kind gem and all it's "custom features" You know, like the two toned paint (front end was red, the rest was blue) intermittent heat (to help keep ya wide awake during those long drives home) and our anti-theft devices (no drivers side door handle, and the occasional rolling start pop-the-clutch days). Shortly after it's attempt at ending it all, the clutch went along with some other stuff. It's now beyond our means to revive and has come to rest in front of our home. The only reason why our less than sympathetic neighbors haven't had it towed away is because it is still registered. My family of 6 and I now use public transportation avidly and the cab company knows my work schedule better than I do. Even if I am not considered for a new car, I hope my email put a smile on your face like you do for so many of us every day.
You are truly and inspiration, and I'd like to thank you for that.

Dear Ma'am,
------------First let me start off by saying I appreciate your offering assistance to individuals, whether or not you assist me personally with a vehicle.
------Secondly, I am a proud person and feel uncomfortable asking. However the mother of my children said to give you a line, explaining our circumstances.
------We are disabled, living on disability. Cat has a seizure disorder and I have stints in my heart, Emphysema, a nodule in a bronchi tube, unable to walk further than 20 feet and require my walker or wheelchair depending distance.
------We have four kids living at home, my eldest son 20 and my eldest daughter 17, and Cat’s great niece – our younger daughter is 11 and - Cat’s great nephew - our younger son. is 8. Both her great niece and great nephew are suffering from "PSD" and are "MR".
------Cat’s great niece and great nephew were given to us with full custody, the bio~parents both admitted in a notarized statement to physical abuse and agreed to limited, restricted, supervised custody which became a part of the court order granting Cat, the bio-great aunt, full custody. I built on to the house and hopefully supply these children with a stable loving home and each their own bed room.
------We have been fighting custody and visitation for couple years with the kids bio-mother. Now I must say the Judge is wonderfully fair and ordered that the visitation be supervised thru Children Services, freeing Cat and I from reserving every single holiday open for her bio mother or Cat’s nephew in case either parent wanted to visit. Even after the divorce neither sought to revise the custody situation, after Cat’s great niece accused her mother of specific abuse and wanted her last name changed. Her bio - mom immediately sought at first custody and now is fighting for visitation.
------Our vehicle is a 1994 van, which was bought, used. It had been wrecked and we got a good buy on it. It has a cracked windshield; I have pumped money in this older vehicle with towing and repairs that you would not believe. It is not wheelchair capable when I am using the wheelchair.
------Now if you call anyone for valentines or mothers day, let me tell you that Cat is a Wonderful Woman And Wonderful Mother- Please keep her in mind, she would Love a call from you, we are great fans.
------Also, if you do a call to special young people on your show, please keep my older children in mind. Neither my biological son nor my biological daughter has given us any undue problems taking Cat’s great niece and nephew in. They both have accepted the children in and accept them wonderfully as younger brother and sister. I am sure that both would appreciate a call from you as well.
------My biological son is 20 yr old, who works for Michelina's. Leaving out at 4:00a.m. and gets back after 4:00p.m at night. He has a 401k available to him, He has health care plan availability to him, and purchased a used car, pays for he own gas for back and forth to work. Further, though we do not demand him to, he helps with groceries since we lost food stamps because he got a job. And when the van goes down allows us to use his car.
------Also, if you do a call to special young people on your show, my biological daughter a senior in High School and a student @ Votec and My biological son would be able to receive a call after 4:00 p.m. est.
------Well I am sure that you have more desperate families than mine. With God's grace, we are managing. Plus, I could not afford the taxes on a handicap vehicle anyway. But I truly, truly would appreciate it if you ever do a show on special people or Moms; you keep Cat, my biological son, and my biological daughter in mind. This way they know that they are special and now not only dad but also others know how special they are. Which is probably why I wrote anyway as I know that even though you and others are busy you took time to read this and know how special they are.

God Bless
Dave

Hi Ellen,
Gosh,it appears that their are so many deserving people out there that desperately need a helping hand in order to survive. My heart goes out to them all! Unfortunately, my family is among them also, and as so many others do on a daily basis, we too try our best to keep our chin held up high, make it through another day and never give up.

I would like to ask you for the opportunity to win a car for our 16 year old daughter, Jessica.
She is such a good girl and we've never had any behaviour problems whatsoever with her. She is in the 10th grade with a 4.13 weighted GPA. She is involved in the NJROTC program in her school and has earned the Senior Chief status. She has done over 100 hours of community volunteer services so far and has just obtained her first part time job.
She participated this past summer (2007) with the Alabama Youth Police Academy Program and did really well.

We barely survive on $10,000.00 annually for a family of 3 and my husband has been 100% disabled since 1997. I am a stay at home wife/mother and my husband's caretaker and I too have health problems that I deal with.
We have a handicapped family van which I also use to transport our daughter to and from school & work everyday. She wants to attend the Dual Enrollment Program the summer before her Senior year and her Senior year at the local College, in order to prepare her for her Career Choice, but it's a 150 mile round trip there and back.

She is at the point where she really needs her own car, but we just do not have the money needed in order to buy her one and we don't see anywhere to come up with it.
As parents, we feel like failures and that we are letting her down by not being able to help provide her with a much needed tool in life, transportation.

We thank you for your time in reading this comment and hope we are a potential consideration for the priveledge of a car.

God Bless

P.S. It doesn't have to be expensive, big or fancy, just dependable and gets good gas milage will be a blessing enough.

I am a senior at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida graduating this summer with a BA in Social Work. I am 21 years old, was born in Tallahassee, and have lived here my entire life. I have been raised by a very loving family that believes in caring for others. Our family motto is, "When you give beyond yourself, life becomes worth living." My dad runs a non-profit organization called, Builder's Care of Tallahassee, whose mission is to repair and revitalize the homes of low income elderly and disabled people. My mom has taught school for 30 years (at the same school)and is a reading teacher who works with elementary children who struggle with reading. When I graduate from FSU this spring, I will not have any college loans and in this day and age, that is an uncommom thing. I will do this, not because my family had any money or savings---it is because I have a very supportive family, who works hard, and lives simply.

I plan on investing my passion in life to bring hope and help others become better by going to graduate school in Tampa, Florida, at the University of South Florida. When I graduate I will have a Masters in Social Work and will be licensed to practice in the field of Social Work.

As I will need a car, your giveaway may help my dream fo going away to school to work on my Masters Degree even more complete. Thank you for your kind consideration in having the compassion to actually give away a car. Thank you also for considering my request. P.S. My dog, Mollie will love traveling to school with me.

Always grateful for everything you do to make our world a better place,
Amanda Gibbons

I heard you on your show tell us to log in and tell you why "I" should win a car....
Well, Im 27 and have a 1 year old son and a wonderful husband who can not work due to a very bad back injury. I dont make very much only $7.67 an hr and bearly get in a 30 hr week due to either Dr. visits or something going on. I made under $7,000 for a three person home for 2007. Some of this was due to having my son and no paid time off. I had a C-section and couldnt get back to work for over a month. One of the reason I dont make very much is because I cant afford daycare so I work from home and have to leave my husband incharge of our son. My sons getting so big and heavy thats it's getting harder and harder for my husband to pick him up. I would love to get a job out side of the home so I could make us more money but I dont want to leave my husband with out a car incase of emergancys. We are trying to get my husband on SSI but this can take years and at this point Im so scared Im going to lose our house because I dont make enough. Im not trying to tell a sob story because I know we all have our stories. We are champs and will get through anything life can throw at us but having a new car, like the one shown on your show would make a hudge difference in my life. I am sure who ever wins that car will be blessed and Im sure it will be well diserved! Good luck to all~

Hi Ellen!
I really want my mom to win this! We are low on money right now and cannot afford a new car. My mom is a postal-worker and is constantly driving. She drives an old beat up Honda CR-V that doesn't heat up very well and she's usually in cold weather with the windows down. My dad works as a security guard and drives an old 1991 Honda-Civic which is barely running with over 200,000 miles. I honestly think my mom is the best mom in the world. She and my dad support my sister and I.My sister is 8 and I am 12. Ellen, we could really use that car! Ellen, your show is super funny! My mom and I watch it every day and can't get enough of it! Please win my mom a car! It would really make a big difference in our lives! Thank you a lot! Keep up the great show!
From,
Kailey

Hi Ellen, I am actually trying to win a car for my daughter. She is 29 years old, and has had cronic kidney stones since age 12. She didnt even get to to to high school her last year because of these, she had to be home schooled. She keeps kidney stones in her kidneys at all times and never knows when they are going to try to pass. Most the time they get stuck and she has to have surgery. We have had all kinds of research done to find out why she has them but cannot get answers. Probably the most reason is most of my daughters years she did not have health insurance and know one wanted to help her. She has a darling little red headed curly headed 6 year old girl. She is precious. She even went through ---- while she was pregnant. She had a stone the size of a cherrie the whole 8 months, until they had to take the baby l mo early because of that, and then the baby had cronic lung problems the first 2 years of her life. She now is fine. My daughter has never, and I mean never been able to have a job, because of these stones. She recently left her husband because he was verbally, physically, and mentally abusive. She was with him for 10 years. She now lives in my moms condominium, thank God she doesnt have to pay rent. My mom passed away June of 06. She and I are driving my moms car which is about to break down, it has like 150,000 miles on it Ford escort. I let her drive it, because I am not as young as her and I know she has places she needs to go. Picking her daughter up and taking her to school. Her husband left her with nothing, no car, no money. She barely has money to eat. I have to help her. And the saddest part is my daughter wants to work and just have a normal life. She has so much anger from this, it is just so sad. I would give anything if I could win a car for my daughter she deserves something to make her happy. thank you Ellen. Becky Gatlin

I am not asking for a new vehicle for myself but for my daughter, Sheri. She is divorced, moving into a new apt and cannot afford a new car. Her Blazer she has been driving an hour to and and from work is a piece of junk! She has had it repaired so many times they all know her at the Auto Repair places on first name basis! She owes $4,000 on it yet so can't afford to get a new one. The heat went out in it this month and because it costs $500 to repair, and can't afford, she has been driving it without heat! You cannot comprehend the true tragedy of this until you live in Minnesota and know the temperatures we have been having lately. She has come cloe to frostbite in her feet on the way to work and I bought her those heat things for her boots and they have helped. She has called in sick on the 20 below days cuz she just can't bear to drive to work so cold. But she can't do that as she needs this job. She needs a new vehicle so badly I could cry. Please help her. Her mom, LoAnn

My husband died in September of 2000 and I really dislike the song about September 2001. Every time I hear it say where were you that September morning my thoughts go back to the hospital room with my children waiting for their father to take his last breath.
I am not good with computers but am working at getting better and today watching the show it said to go on line to win a car I hope I am in the right place.I should win one of these cars because I have two grandchildren who live over two hours away and I hardly ever get to see them. I use my one sons car as I don't have my own but I am afraid to drive it that far because it has issues. I do get social security widows benefits but the price of everything is so high its rough. I also need it to get to school I returned to Ohio University Eastern after forty-five years of raising a family. I always wanted to go back to school and some of my children ask me why I am putting myself under such pressure because it is really harder then I remembered. The first quarter I took anthropology and an animal behavior class and this one I am taking a history course and a humanities class. I told myself I wouldn't take hard classes this time but I was wrong. When ask why I basically say I love knowledge and hope to graduate and if God keeps me healthy maybe even get a degree. I am interested in archeologybut I don't know how far I will get but I know a new car would get me there.I would also like to go someplace and see our country. I hadn't been on vacation since 1983 but last summer I did go to Tennessee with my daughter, her husband, and two year old great grandson. Even though I really enjoyed it and love him dearly it wasn't a true vacation we did a lot of watching him. I have a granddaughter who lives in Virginia Beech her husband is in the Navy there and I could drive to see her. I also have a daughter who is a traveling open-heart surgical nurse and is now in Florida for three months working. She has been there a couple of weeks and I really miss her if I had a good car I would probably join the other students on spring brake in Florida. Thank you for reading my story.

Ellen,
I'm having a rough time these days. But any time I get a chance to listen to your show in the car, or even a few minutes on break while at work you say something or do something that makes me smile. You touch more lives than you realize and every night when you go to bed you should lay your head to the pillow knowing you did something good for someone today and if you don't do anything different tommarrow you WILL do good again. THE WHOLE WORLD SMILES BECAUSE OF YOU.
May all your dreams come in the new year

Hi Ellen, I meant to say a few other things I loved your TBS special but I know this is just embarassing but I was sitting in a NUT hospital because the place where I first moved to which is been less than a month I didn't trust the woman who did this but she and some drunks twisted a story around about a person who had a friend that took his own life and I just was upset about it anyway before I could say BOO!!!! those 5 little drunk witches made up some out landish story I wanted to kill myself. Well I had gone into my apartment and before I knew it 2 policemen where at my door and I have done nothing but GOOD and MOTHER TERESA acts for saving others lives in fact I told the police look at the saints on that mantle and I had tried to get sponsorship to AFRICA TO SAVE OTHERS FROM HARM. WHY WOULD I WANT TO HARM MYSELF? I LOVE MYSELF TO MUCH. They did not care nor did they write down what I DID SAY>>>and I DRINK RARELY IN FACT I WISH I HAD BEEN BECAUSE maybe I would just have blended in with the others, but I had not. God its a good thing I can FORGIVE but to bad not able to FORGET. I had only shared the poem "SMILE" which as I said I had wrote for you, Ellen. Also that you really shook the roof on AMERICAN IDOL FROM DISNEY back monthes ago when you annouced giving for HUMANITY $100,000 relief around the world that "YOU" created a WAVE of FUNDS FROM YOUR GENEROUSITY. That is all they knew about me. Its a good thing GOD gave us a way to laugh at even the most SERIOUS things that CAN happen and DO HAPPEN to myself and to others. When I saw them sitting around the pool they asked if I wanted to EAT THANKSGIVING with them I nearly fell into the pool. I started singing loud to the top of my lungs CULTURE CLUBS song KARMA, KARMA, KARMA, KARMA CAMILION and just ignored them. Don't check to see if I spelt it right but you get the picture. I truly have seen all the CULTURE SHOCK THAT COMES WITH CALIFORNIA... Oh, I am a nice looking and intelligent human being. I have been gifted in some rotten lemon ways, but I always say to some "BLESS THEIR,"LITTLE LITTLE PEE-BRAIN" HEARTS" GOD LOVE THEM! IF NOTHING ELSE LET US AS A WORLD LEARN TO "SMILE" AND "LAUGH" FOR AWHILE TOGETHER AND CREATE PEACE. YES I AM FROM THE SOUTH AND FUNNY MIA ANGELOU, WORKED FOR SOME TIME AT WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY IN WINSTON SALEM, NC LESS THAN 1 HOUR FROM KANNAPOLIS, NC WHERE I AM FROM EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS BORN IN ST.LOUIS, MO. THANKSGIVING DAY I STAYED ALONE IN MY ROOM WITH MY LITTLE DOG "ANGEL" AND WROTE WHAT I CALL "IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL" WITH MIA'S POEM FOR PRESIDENT MR. CLINTON BUT MINE IS FOR MRS. HILLARY CLINTON'S WIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE....LOVE TO ALL THE WORLD UNTO THE EARTH WE BELONG.

I have been hiv+ for 19yrs Nov.1988 I have always wanted to be liked but because I was different to everyone else, I was my own friend. I turned 40yrs old in April 16th, 1967 and had no party which I am use to. However, it would have been nice to have been given a party of some sort but I hold on because I don't PITY I lost my mom the day after mothers' day in 1990. The last day spent with her was Sunday May 13th 1990. Well, since then I have allways believed in THE SECRET even though I was not sure of what it meant. I though was gifted with a way to understand what giving is and along with numbers and faith. This year marks the 1st year that mothers day fell on Sunday May 13th 2007. I moved from NC to GA 13th state of 13 colonies slipped on a rug in 2001 an found unconscious from damn slicked wooden floors. I feel I am the 6million dollar man. My dream is to be the founder of the state of the art homeless shelter that does everything but wipe their ! and eat. I have called the Queen of England, I have called the Prime Minister of New Zealand about peace and enviromental issues. I have a somewhat serious problem with ADHD however looking at me you would never think it nor the severe abuse as well. Again I was told once someone I turned old lemons into lemonade. I liked that. I moved to Hollywood, CA being 31st state looked at pics with all 13's. In 2003 and everywhere I go I see the number 13 or 31 or combinations. I have had 2 deaths non hiv related for I claim through my Guardian Angels especially Arch Angel Michael the warrior of battles one of the 7 Arch Angels. My mom was born May 31st, 1930 so 5th month add all up you get 49,HELLO Birthday GIRL w/a few 13's. I was in Air Force just until dad died which I saw coming of course I got nicknamed GINGER and left on Friday June 13th, 1886. I have had 3 partners all born in 1958 get ready the 1st one has exact birth you have Ellen I am a loose canyon and had gall bladder taken out and died due to overmedicated on my birthday my room number was #416 with no other hospital bed in the county in 4/2005. I have all documents to prove then moved to long beach in 2004 and was gassed to death 3x. Bitten 4x brown recluse spiders but about the Toyota Rav4's I saved and drove 1out to LA and hit and run then barely got fianced for the 2nd then less than a year was hit in behind at Westminster Mall by a Cadallic going to fast. The report was originally in my favor because she hit me so hard I flipped, spun, twurilled in the air. I just new this was it and like slow motion I came down from the air and the road pavement was coming nearer to my side and slammed like a piece of foil. then believe it or not people were clapping I had crawled out with not a cut on me and I was wearing my glasses instead of contacts they found them to the extreme far left in the grass, unbroken. Then I get a notice that it was my fault the police dept. was located on 13th street in Westminster CA. The officer lady lied would not call me back I complained to internal affairs NO WHERE but Here I still am. K-big 104.3 was having contest at toyota off euclid ave. 1331 I have the dealerships card for a year every saturday I tried but nothing. I have so much more its unbelievable to myself yet so much more. Now I moved to the desert new address 1313 vista chino I share my store with many more on giving and yes I get up everyday and say thank you God for letting me open my eyes and in my own way SMILE which IS THE NAME OF YOUR POEM I WROTE I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET ALOT OF THINGS TO YOU AND SUSAN KNOWS MY FAVORITE WOMAN AND POET IS MAYA ANGELOU AND SHE MADE A BEAUTIFUL CD W/ASFORD AND SIMPSON YEARS AGO WHICH I ALSO HAVE AND I CAN ACTUALLY SING THE SONG IN HER OWN VOICE VERY WEIRD ONLY HAVE I SHARED THIS NOW WITH YOU AND HOPE TOO CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY WITH YOU and I love Molly Shannon character Sally O'Mally "I'm 50! 50 yrs old that girl is a hoot and so are you sweetie, I have always been the giver and now It's ok to say its alright I DESERVE SOMETHING GOOD AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS LIFE ELLEN THE WORLD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I. Hi Ellen,

I watch your show when I can and I love it. I actually did some silly survey a whole back and you had to pick a celeberity to take on vacation. Of the all the people the offered, I chose you. Wanna know why? Because you are sooo funny and you bring a smile to people's faces and you are sooo down to earth. I had to send in a post about the car thing. I am married and have 4 children. My husband and I work for our selves and share 1 car. I need a minivan. We cannot go anywhere as a family, because the backseat of a Jetta just does not hold 4 kids. Not to mention, no place for the pitbull and the beagle. (they insist on going places with us (like camping etc). At this point, we cannot afford another car payment. We were high risk and pay through the nose for a 6 year old car ( $351.00 a month) and just can't swing another payment like that. So, here I am. Throwing myself upon your mercy. I neeeeeeed a minivan to hall around my 4 boys (age 5, 8, 10, and 14) before spring. They all are in little league and unless we get a second vehicle, a few of them will not be able to particpate in baseball this year. Last year, I drove 1, and had 1 hitch a ride with a friend everytime. I am desperate for a minivan. Please help....you would make this mom, really happy and less stressed out. (I am not picky...even a used van would be cool)....thanks for considering and keep up the great shows. YOU ARE AWESOME! Have a happy holiday and stay safe. God bless you and your family.

Hi Ellen,

A car would be the greatest thing to win. I'm a mother of a 13 month old boy and I do not have a car. My boyfriend has one that he uses when he goes to work so I'm stuck at home with no car. The car my boyfriend does have is a 1995 Ford Mustang that has been in an accident with airbags that have been deployed. Not very safe for a kiddo if you ask me! You help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Ellen- Right back at you! This is a bit different from the other posts. It has always been a dream of mine to be able to give from the heart as you do. I can't imagine the "rush" or pleasure you have when you can just give cars, trips, money, etc..... to needy people. I'm just an ordinary person, who is middle classed (whatever that really means)but I would love to pretend for one day that I had the means to just give away extrodinary gifts as you so often do. I lost both of my parents (7 weeks apart from another almost 3 years ago, along with 2 best friends and 2 aunts). So, I lost 6 people who I really loved dearly in just about 20 weeks. My life changed so much in the short amount of time. I realized that I was given one of the greatest gifts of all (wonderful, loving family). I try to find the good in people. My grandfather believed that laughter was the best medicine for a wounded soul and that is so true.Your show brings so much happiness and laughter into the homes of so many. With the world and all of it's negativity surrounding so many each day it's so nice to just turn on the television and see you "just being yourself". I love the nonsense. It's simple and that's what so many millions of people need but are to afraid to do! Thanks Ellen for brightening a bit of my day. May you continue this extrodinary journey for a long time. Laugh out loud every chance you get!!!!!! Mary Ann Boucher

Help, I'm on the lam from the repo man! I can't give alot of personal information till I get another car or they'll find me, shush! I got behind and now they're going to take my car away. I'll have to walk 5 miles to the grocery store and I'm just too damn old for that. I'll take any old clunker that somebody wants to give me as long as it's got wheels. Ain't proud, just poor (and getting poorer!) Thanks and love ya Ellen, you're the greatest (even if I don't get a car).

Ellen,
I still don't believe things like this happen, I have enterened your 12 days of Christmas, and have also written an e mail, it seeems like I have been Rip-van-Winkle the past 5 years sinse I have had a nero condition, I am now alble to work very part part time, but having a car work help, since I live on ssi I don't make enough to quilify to be able to get the the car, then there is the catch 22, I am now also able to get a small apt. on my own and can't afford to get the two at the same time, so what do you do? even a Pinto that runs would work as longs as it goes to and fro, I use to drive believe it or not a plymonth Horizon, who is now to old to get started, she is going throught the change in life, you know the menop. phase. boy are we a sad couple, but we have had get time ad paces that we went to so a Pinto would be an upgrade,
Well have a great and Merry Christmas to you and all.

Hi Ellen,Love your show, you have a way of making people smile....even when things are not going so well...by just reading this letters there seems to be a lot of needy people. I am not writting for myself a new car but for my daughter and her fiancee,my daughter has 3 children and her fiancee has 3 children he has full time custody of his children. The ages of children are 13,12,12,11,8,7 . As of now it is almost impossible for them to go anywhere together. Her Fiancee has a single cab truck 1980's model and at this time she does not have a car. She borrows mine or her daddy's. I would like to see them go together they will soon be united as a family. And being together is what this family needs . My grandparents said..A family that eats together stays together..I believe that also can go for riding together also........Keep smiling and making people feel good about themselves,

Hi Ellen,

First, I have to say that I love watching your program because I love to dance and I love to smile. I appreciate so much the way you openly express your love for people, animals, plants and food - I think that covers all living things! :)

Your interest and concern for EVERYONE and EVERYTHING seems SO genuine!!! I really hope you are not a jerk behind the scene! That would be a definate bummer! :(

Now, what's this about winning me a car???...

Well, if you're serious, several things come to mind... but, here is one:

My daughter, Danielle, (23yrs) is moving to Haiti (the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere!) in January to work with a mission. She will be involved with many aspects of community development- housing, health & nutrition programs, school, church, orphanage, medical clinic, etc.) and she will need a 4-wheel drive type vehicle because there are only dirt roads where she'll be. I hope she & her husband, Curt, will be able to get a safe vehicle here in the states that we can ship over to Haiti!

Thanks for connecting with your t.v. audience the way you do - it's like being a part of a family! I'm a fan but you honestly feel more like "fam".

Gotta go,

DEAR ELLEN,
8 YEARS AGO MY SON WAS MARRIED WITH 3 CHILDREN, A GREAT JOB AS A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN, AND HAPPY. LONG STORY SHORT, HIS WIFE LEFT WITH THE 3 CHILDREN AND HE SANK INTO AN ABYSS OF DRUGS AND HOMELESSNESS, IN SPITE OF ALL OUR EFFORTS TO HELP HIM. 2 YEARS AGO HE DECIDED TO HELP HIMSELF, AND WITH THE HELP OF MY NEPHEW GOT A JOB IN CONSTRUCTION, ALTHOUGH STILL STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY BECAUSE OF THE ENORMOUS DEBT OF UNPAID CHILD SUPPORT. LAST YEAR HE MET A WONDERFUL WOMAN AND HER DAUGHTER, WHO HAS LEAD HIM TO GOD. MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED, AND I AM SO PROUD OF HIS EFFORTS. I KNOW HIS CAR IS ON IT'S LAST LEG AND I BELIEVE HE DESERVES A BLESSING FOR RISING ABOVE ALL HIS DESPAIR.

I DANCE WITH YOU, I LAUGH WITH YOU AND SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SHOW. I AM RECOVERING FROM SURGERY AND UNTIL I RETURN TO WORK LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING EVERYDAY. THANK YOU!

Hi Ellen! I came across this part of your web site. How I missed it, I have no clue. I had a new truck, but lost it in my divorce. I'm on disability, with insurance taking half of that! I have cancer and now my lungs are collapsing. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed! LOL. I LOVE your show! Laughter is good for the Soul you know! Looks like you have folks who need a new car worse than me!
Hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas!!! May God Bless you for all you do for folks!!!

Hi Ellen. One evening I was trying to cross a major highway and totaled my Explorer. My husband tried to convince me that this is the car I wanted. Mazda 5. I really don't like this car. I think my husband may love it. I am not used to a car so low to the ground. I was on unfamiliar territory and have already caused damage to the car. Had I had my Explorer replaced by another Explorer or better yet an Edge, I would be able to stay out of trouble with my husband. He could even keep the Mazda 5 for himself. I love my husband and his intentions are good, however, since I ran over the concrete pad and scratched my car, he tells me that he no longer cares how I screw up the car but not to expect a car as nice as that in the future. Ugh. Help me Ellen!

Hello Ellen,

Happy holidays to you and your staff.

I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you and your show, you make me forget my troubles and help keep me going. You are so positive and keep telling your audience to keep going, don't give up, and I need to hear that.

I am 62 years old, have 5 grand children, live in central Maine, I have always given myself to help others and have taught part time in the local schools as a substitute teacher and adult education. Also had other jobs out side the schools. I lost my job last August and although I can't prove it was because of my age, (I know it was), it has drastically taken a toll on me and my family. I have been interviewing for other jobs but to no avail. I have 2 Associates degrees, great experience and work ethics but no one seems to want to hire the older worker. I have custody of one of my granddaughters (17) and am having a very hard time to make ends me, let alone put a Christmas together for my grand children. I am getting unemployment but I cannot get any other assistance because they tell me my unemployment is over the guidelines. Well, let me tell you, it is not. My unemployment runs out in a couple of weeks and then what.......I don't know....except- you keep me going with a positive attitude and persistence to keep applying everywhere for employment. Maine's economy is bad to begin with and after my granddaughter graduates from high school, I plan on moving to another state.

I remember the days when I made good money and could afford a new car...now I am lucky to be holding on to my used car with high milage or even have the money to buy gas. Maybe some day I will get lucky and get a new car.

I love the thought of people giving presents. I have a brother whom could really use a new vehicle, there van is on its last leg/wheel. He and his wife have four children and the company he worked for closed so he is going to school full time and his wife went back to work oppiside his school schedual because its hard to get a sitter for four children much less pay for it. Knowing him he would want you to give this vehicle to someone less fortunet than him.

Well it would be nice to have a van, but If I am patient I will find a good used one. So find a young family that really needs it worse than I do. Anyway when my kids get tired of running errands for me, I will get one.

Hello,
Fan of the show,from Indiana!
My story is like many, I just would like to own a brand new car someday!
We are a combined family of 7. WOW! We have fun and like to do things together.
Right now we own a full size truck, single cab(old) and we were just given an older full size van. It fits us but nothing is like a NEW CAR!
If I was giving a new car a would love to donate the van we recieved to a good cause.

Hi Ellen,
I am a great fan of yours who always looks forward to watching your show every weekday, I am
dealing with an angxiety problem, and one of my goals is to start driving again. Although I want to it's hard financially to purchase one. I would be happy even with a used vehicle just to get around and conquer my fair of going places and being with people.

Sincerely,

Anxious to conquer my fears,

My finance and I have a all girl brady bunch I have a daughter Lauren who is 11. He has a daughter Jordan who is 9. Jordan has a sister Payden who is 13 which comes over too on the weekends because Jimmy has pretty much raised her since she was 2. Then we did'nt plan on having anymore children and suprise we found out Jan. 2007 that I was pregant and Sept 17 2007 Hunter James was born. Plus we have a chocolate lab Gabby who loves to go for rides. So we no longer fit all to together in my buick regal and really we can't afford a dodge caravan or any other vehicle to accomadate the size of our family because we are saving for our wedding which is going to be on August 30th 2008. So if you can help us out it would be so appreciated. Every chance I get I watch your show you are so funny and can always cheer me up. Thanks for having the best talk show on tv. Amy

Kind of hard to put your name in for a contest after you read so many sad stories from people who really need them. I guess I don't. Please submit my name for one of these people who really do. Thanks. By the way, absolutely love to watch your show. Only get to watch it three times a week while my grandson, who I have custody of, is in nursery school. The rest of the time the Disney channel wins. What can you do?

Dear Ellen,
My best friend Janelle and I watch you everyday. She lives in NY and I live in CA. We talk on the phone everyday even though we live so far from each other. But, let me tell ya, if anyone needs a car it's my best friend. She has overcome so much in the 30 years she's been on this earth. She's beaten ovarian and cervical cancer and had to have a hysterectomy at 26. She has three beautiful little girls, Alyssa, 11 and Brielle and BreAnne (twins), 9. She is considered disabled so she lives on social security. She has a great fiance', Jason (not the girls father) who also has a little boy, Zach who is 8. They all live in this three bdrm. apt. and struggle everyday to make it to the next paycheck. They have this piece of junk van that is constantly breaking down,I swear every week! It takes most of what little money they have. They need help so bad. Please give my best friend the first break she's ever gotten and reward her with a new vehicle. We are such HUGE fans of yours! WE LOVE YOU ELLEN!!!

Ellen my name is Danielle Cunningham and I am from Marquette Michigan. I live in an area that gets alot of snow during the winter months. I am 21 years old and have a 15 month old son. I have a vehicle but it is not in the best of shape. My cars heater barely blows any heat and in this area you need heat. I have been wishing a new car would just fall into my lap. My son was born at 33 1/2 weeks and was only 3 lbs. 11 oz. He spent one month in the neo-natal intensive care unit. I had a fairly new car when Cole was born but I had to give it back to the dealer because I could not afford the payments. I now drive a 1993 Ford Explorer and it is ready to break down it has 193,000 miles on it and it is ready to die. I hope you will consider me for the new car. Thank you for listening to my story.

Hi Ellen,
I could really use a car, I posted my story elsewhere on your sight but will tell you a little about it here. I had weight loss surgery years ago and due to it I was dying, The Dr's gave me 6 months because I couldn't metabolize nutrients and vitamins so my body was shutting down, my eye sight was failing, my muscles started to atrophy, I started having cardiac problems, I got down to 82 lbs. I lost my car (Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition) due to my not being able to nurse anymore. They made me quit work and I was put on disability. Well I have gone from making $25 hr to trying to live on a month what I made a week. So I can't afford to buy groceries let alone a car. I am 48 yrs old and have to sit at home and read and watch TV. Ok the watching Tv isnt bad because I get to watch you, but I am getting really depressed due to not getting out of the house. Things everyone takes for granted I can't do anymore. I can't take myself to get my hair done, or go to the store to even buy a tube of lipstick. At times it gets really bad and I wonder why God keeps me around. If you could help me Ellen then I could get my life back and return to helping others when I am released from my Dr's care. For right now I am having to depend on others to get me to my Dr's appointments ( I have at least 2 to 3 a month) and have had to cancel several important ones because noone could take me. I am allowed to drive now just have nothing to drive. Please help if you get a chance to win another car. One of you biggest Fans.

Hi Ellen,

I posted a message a couple days ago regarding the 12 days of christmas. I finally found where I could register. I just came across this page by mistake. I LOVE watching your show. I make sure that I tape it when I am at school so that I do not miss a show. I am 44 and returned to school to get a degree in Radiology to try to make a better life for myself and my family. Because I am going to school, I have started to accumulate more debt with student loans. I am in school from 9:30am to 6:15 PM. I have two more years of college to get my degree. I have a 1994 Saturn with over 225,000 miles and I travel two hour a day. It is falling apart. The exhaust broke off, my son broke the sunroof last week so now it leaks when it rains. It is an oil guzzler. My husband's truck has a gas leak and he just lost his brakes. His truck is a 1990 GMC. He was laid off from his job in august and has been trying to find work, but it is hard when you do not have a good running vehicle. We travel 22 miles just to get to the grocery store because we live so far in the sticks. Our doctor's office is 25 miles away and one of our doctor is an hour away, so there is a lot of wear and tear on my Saturn. I work two days a week and all my money goes to pay bills. I travel 45 miles to go to work. With the price of gas it gets to be pretty expensive. We live from paycheck to paycheck. We are struggling to keep up with our mortgage. We owe so much on our electric bill. We can't even afford the repairs on his truck. I always make sure my family comes first before I do and that they have what they need. I have always been that way. I ask you PLEASE win me a car so that I can make sure that I can continue my schooling. Even if it is a second hand car, it has to be better than what we have. I hope that You and Portia have a wonderful Christmas and may god bless you both.

I believe that Angels are watching over our family that is why I was led to this website.I been married to the most wonderful for the past twenty-five years. He has been truly my hero over the years. He worked fourteen months with a back injury that took the feeling from his leg without complaining, then it resulted in him being told that he could no longer work and he would need back surgery. We thought that he would have the surgery and in a few months we would start to get back to normal or as close as possible. That was almost four years ago,now that our savings has been spent taking care of every day things. Ellen, if we were blessed with you maybe winning a car for us, then I could put my soul mate in the car for medical appointments and not have to see him sick due to the car seat is not changable for his height.even though he is injured there is no reason he should suffer.Plus the simple fact that Betsy has used the last bit of spring in her struts, and the people told me the boots and brakes she has really no longer count. That is why I keep asking that with Gods blessing that we will get to our destination and back home safely. And if by some Chance something bad is going to happened may I be the only one in the car. I will continue to trust that our Family will be blessed with a miracle for I have always believed in Christmas Miracles every day of the year. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ELLEN AND ALL OF YOU,REMEMBER TO LIVE AND LOVE FOR WE NEVER KNOW WHAT TOMORROW WILL HOLD.EACH DAY IS PRECIOUS AND WE WILL BE BLESSED WITH IT ONLY ONCE IN A LIFETIME...

While roaming around your site, I found the link for Ellen possibly winning people cars. Never saw that before!
I would love that opportunity! I'm disabled, live alone out in the country. My only income is Social Security Disability so I can't even afford a decent used car.
My '93 Ford Escort Wagon is again in the garage. It can be repaired, but I've been told that the frame is rotting and I'll be lucky if it lasts til next summer.
There is no public transportation out here and the cost of calling a taxi is prohibitive. When my car finally dies, I have no idea what I'll do. I have many med app'ts, tests, and of course grocery shopping and errand running to do. I'm really afraid. I so hope I have an opportunity for you to win a car for me!
Either way, I love your show, love your gentle humor. I love that you don't put people down. And I so agree w/you about all the bull about Jennifer Love Hewitt!!

What kind of message does it send to all the young girls when a pic of a very thin woman is plastered all over every newspaper and is called fat? I felt the same way when Brittany was called fat. Yes her performance wsa lackluster - criticize that. But for a young woman who had 2 babies in fairly rapid succession, she was in amazing shape. So sad.

Hello Ellen!

I was checking out your site today and came across the let ellen win you a car thingy. lol
I am not writting for myself but for my boyfriend whom i am known almost all my life, after 17 years of losing touch he found me.

We have been together a year and a half now, and in that time this Iraq Combat Vet. has been amazing to us in trying to give us everything, trying to be a father to MY son whom lost his when he was 2 1/2 and trying to help his sister get back on her feet with her 3 children all at the same time.

He just got us a wonderful oppertunity of a house that is rent with option to purchase, so that we have enough room for the 3 of us and his sister and her 3 kids. Resently things have seemed like they are falling apart. Both of our vehicals broke down on the same day!! I KID YOU NOT!
HOW OFTEN DOES THAT HAPPEN ANYWAY?? SOME LUCK!

With Christmas approching and sinking what little money we do have into trying to get vehicals going again it has been very stressful on him!

I feel so bad for him, he's feeling all the pressure and helpless. I wish i could help him, i tell him we'll get through this....but he seems so optimistic. Please help us!! He has been needing a 4wd truck for work as he is a House framer(building someone elses dreams, as he puts it) and needs his own truck by Spring to get out on his own with his own crew for his boss. Its a great oppertunity for him, i'd hate to see it pass him by!

Thankyou for your time...And Me and Mike's sister LOVE your show...he's never home when your on here working the long hours he does.

Hope to here from you!

Love,

ET (NAPLES,NEW YORK)

Hey Ellen this is Rosalinda again I was reading maybe Ellen can win a car for you. let my tell you my husband's car is fallen a part my 17 year old and him drive it after i hit it twice backing out from the garage with my car but it was not my fault if he parked the right way that could not have happen don' you think so . any way he really deserves a car before dis one falls a part let me tell you he is a wonderful person he has been working since he was 12 and we have 4 kids and 3 of them have asthma so we go in an out of hospitals we almost lost are 17 year old when he was 10 he was in ICU in a coma. he has asthma since he was 9 months old and he is a wonderful caring young man just like his father even after all his been true he never asks to be treated special and he is always willing to help anybody so my husband is always there in the hospital even when he has to work and he also took care of me when I had/have cancer he worked ,went to school and help with food and kids even taking them to Doctors. wile taking care of me and (I could not drive for a wile) and when I have to have radiation he took care of all and at the en of the day he sleep on the floor for 3 days because with the radiation he had to stay away from are room so as you can see he is a great great husband, father and human been. He still thinks I'm a beautiful woman even after I gained a lot of weight because of my health he tells me I'm beautiful every day so you can see if you can win a car for him he is really a deserving person.I know other people are deserving to but my husband will be so happy. And i will love to see him happy with out having to worried about having to pay for something that he really need to go to work but cannot afford. thank you and smile love rosalinda

GOOD MORNING ELLEN, MY NAME IS AMY AND I AM WRITING THIS ABOUT MY LIFE PARTNER, BOBBI. SHE IS A STRONG FEMALE THAT LIFE HAS KICKED HARD. SHE BECAME BLIND IN 1988 BY BEING HIT BY A DRUNK DRIVER. THERE IS NOTHING STOPPING HER, SHE NOW WORKS AS A BAKER AT A RESTERAUNT. A GIFT LIKE A CAR WOULD BE THE ULTIMATE GIFT, ESPECIALLY FROM YOU, SHE NEVER MISSES ANYTHING THAT YOU DO OR HAVE DONE, YOU ARE HER DRIVE.

Ya know Ellen, it really kind of makes me sad when the various TV shows give stuff away. Like the car thing. There are so many stories out there. So many needy people, families and the like. They hope against hope to get something they want and need. Hanging onto the last string. Pick me, pick me, oh God! me, me, me. If I ever get home early enough, I switch between you and Oprah and do home stuff in between. This time of year everyone is watching, hoping for the big one or even the little. Kind of sad for me to see it all. I know you all do your best to bring some light through peoples windows, and to keep ratings giving stuff is a good way. Maybe theres another way, not sure myself. As yoy say
" Anyway" Mery Christmas to you and yours.MJB

Since you make us laugh every day I thought you might get a laugh out of how I met my in-laws.
My husband is one of 13 children and I am one of two children. On the day I was to meet them, I was very nervous and wanted every thing to be just right. As I opened the door to go into his sisters house her Doberman decided that he wanted to be a part of the welcome party and came in beween my legs which caused me to sit down on his back. (I was a lot smaller then)
Needless to say the vision of me riding the doberman through the front door really broke the Ice and we have been in-laws now for 36 years.

Dear Ellen,

I saw the show when you won the car for a girl in Tucson as I live in Marana, 25 miles north of Tucson.

If you ever try and win another car from one of our radio stations please put me on your list of waiting fans!

We live in the boonies, I am going to be making several trip to Scottsdale fo rmy surgery coming up soon at the Bariatric center and am so afraid that my car is not going to make all those trips. I have the first 7 appointments scheduled and 2 are within one day of one another and the other 5 are after surgery which is January 31st.

The other day I was on I-10 and I was heading into Tucson and all of a sudden my son and I almost got into a wreck with a HUGE cement truck who has a blow out right in front of us. I thought I pee'd my pants since I have to take diuretics for my high BP however I was dry thank GOD! I mean when I have to pee it's now or never mind. Those meds work fast and God help you if you live in the boonies like I do.

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and all that!

Sincerely,

Vicki from Marana

The car was towed to tow yard as my son (age 19) arrested on past warrant, very minor charge. I have no car now as I cannot afford to pay tow fee which is now close to price of car originally! I have no income. I need a car desperately to get a job (I am college educated 4 yrs). Husband had i-net affair left me for kangaroo bit--! (aussie lady!) Hey Ellen,

Do you know of any TV talk show hosts who include Canadians? I am having a hard time finding one.

I watch many Americans get cool free stuff and enter cool contests, but they never include the other part of North America, Canada.
I just wonder why that is. Do you know?

You Americans are so lucky!

Love your North American neighbours

Ellen~ your giving away free cars?? thats just what I am looking for, but the ones people give away on craigslist are just not worth it HAHA!! well I'll take a car if tis is what you are doing. Right now I am driving my moms car, but I have to give it back to her next week, then its back to the VOLVO WAGON!!! yeah!! its white and from the 80's, but its a car!..... with no heat (well i can get the defrost on most of the time) and with a metal celing covered in this really wierd foamy stuff that rubs off in my hair if i re-adjust myself and accidently hit the roof with my head, its gross.
anyway I'd love a new car! It would be MOST appriciated!! (shoot for a 'green' car energy effecient)
I am absolutly in love with your face!!!!! you are always so bight and smiliy!! thanks ellen!!

Ellen,
I love watching your show everyday. I never know what to expect from you except for the fact that I always laugh and smile while watching you. You bring so much joy to so many people. I would love to win a new car. I recently bought a used car only to have it in the shop 8 times since I bought it in August. It is back in the shop today and I am dreading what they will say is wrong with it this time. Thanks for all you do. Merry Christmas.

Dear Ellen:

My daughter is going through a difficult time. She has stayed married (10 yrs) for the sake of my 9 yr old grandson and has reached a point that she can no longer stay in this situation. I admire my daugther so much for this. She has a used honda that has no air (we live in the south - HOT) and something is always breaking. Unfortunately, I'm in no position to help her. Anyway, that's my story.

Thanking you in advance for considering my daughter.

Keep up the great work you do, not just for all us viewers but, for the little animals and your charities! The world really needs more people like you!

Hi Ellen: This is the first time I have visited your site. I saw this and thought, my car now is at the dealership as I am typing this getting fix for the third time for the same problem. Would it be nice to have a car that was new and needed no fixing! Happy Holiday, Susan Bracken

Hi Ellen, I would love to win a car from you. If I do I would give it to my husband, because he just bought me a new car and would love to surprize him with a new car. He is a wonderful man and the love of my life. Hope to win Love ya, Linda

Hi Ellen!

If I were ever to win a vehicle I would love to stun the HECK out of one of my closest friends Rachel, by giving it to her! She has a baby now and her A/C recently went out so it's one hot and humid drive from New Orleans to Houma. (It's a whole lot like breathing underwater out here, I know you can relate!)
A lot of Rachel's family live here and she tries to visit most every weekend. Now the engine is clickity clacking and I just can't fix that. I help her with maintenance but I think it's too far gone now and it scares her.

Everywhere you look there are so many people that need a safe, dependable vehicle. Anyone with a child, people that have monthly doctor appointments, for some folks it's one of their most important means of independence. In some areas there are no buses or affordable transportation to help get people around.

Good Luck to Everybody, Everywhere! The odds of winning a car are very high but keep your fingers crossed. Maybe Santa will come around to your door this year!

Thanks for just being You, Ellen. I hope your show stays on for at least another 10 years!!!

DEAR ELLEN, MY SON AND HIS WIFE NEED A NEW VEHICLE DESPERATELY. MY SON IS ILL AND HAS NOT BEEN ALBE TO WORK FOR OVER 19 MONTHS. HE HAS HAD TO FILE FOR DISABILITY, BUT IS STILL WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO AWARD HIS BENEFITS. THEY HAVE GIVEN ME FOUR WONDERFUL GRANDCHILDREN AND I WOULD LOVE FOR THEM TO BE CHOSEN TO RECEIVE A VEHICLE.

Ellen it would be absolutely wonderful to win a new car. I have never had one, and at this point in my life I can only hope the 90 I have will hold up as long as I do. Please give it a try Ellen. My neighbors would not know who I was and I could blow and wave like they all do in their new cars every year. I wouldn't be upity about it I would just be so proud to travel farther from home than 20 or 30 miles and expect my car to make it back without AAA.
Keep Smiling the World loves you.

Hey Ellen, I watch your show daily and love it. I would love it it you could pick my daughter Brandi to win a car, I feel she really deserves this chance she is a recovering drug addict and has been clean for almost a year now. Her two children with with different relatives and should all go well will be returned to her April 5th.She has no transportation to get the kids to where ever they need to go school, doctor, etc.. she does her best and i know this would be a tremendous help to her and her family. Please consider her for your win a car. Thank you sincerely, Mary Ann from Illinois

Ellen, wow a car that you would win for someone? Do you know how so cool that would be ? My husband and I could so use a new car. We don't have a lot of money due to trying to just pay the bills. He had three children before we got married and owed tons of child support and I had two children of my own. With no child support from there father. So needless to say we both just worked to pay child support and bills and no extra money to buy a good car. For my job I drive all over the place from school to school, and living in Alaska you need something that you know can get you from one place to another with out getting stuck or even if your car would start. so Ellen I would love for you to win me a new car. I love your show and watch it every day.

Dear Ellen,

My husband and I work very hard to have what we do. We live way out in the country where snow plows do not get to very often. I am and a nurse at a hospital in town and getting to work is very crucial. Last year I got stuck several times and could not get there until much later. I would love to win a four wheel drive vehicle so my husband does not have to take off work or go in late so that I can get there. My patients mean the world to me and it breaks my heart if I can not make it. My husband, bless his heart, wants me to get a four wheel drive but our bills are totally maxed from me going to school and trying to raise five children (1 married now, 1 in college, two starting next year and one 16). I'm sure there are many out there that deserve it much more than we do but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. I want to wish you and your staff a very Merry Christmas and god bless all of you. I watch our show faithfully (when I'm off). You make me laugh and sometimes cry and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Sincerely, Heidi

A new car!? Woohoo! My son drives an '89 to college. My husband commutes to work in an older vehicle as well. I would love for one of them to have a new set of wheels so that it would be less of a concern when their travelling! My son graduates from the Art Institute of York, PA in March. He will be starting his career in interior design somewhere... how great it would be for him to have a safe comfortable drive to begin his career! Thank you for considering us!

Merry Christmas Ellen,
Hi my name is Britt and I heard you were giving away a free car!?!?!? so I thought on my sister's behalf I would write and ask for the chance. My older sister Chelsea is soooo awesome. My parents only have one job right now and have to support all three of their daughters! We have to cars one used and the other we bought a long time ago. Well one of them is about to go dead pretty soon. Chelsea is nineteen and just started a job and goes to college. She will be taking winter off to pursue her dream off snowboarding in the Olympics. if you could see her when it snows. My parents are looking for a used car with in our budget but can't seem to find one that they think will be safe and not brake down on her. Chelsea need a car with four-whell-drive seeing the she will be driving in the snow. so you see if you could do this one thing for her she would and we would love you the same but much more. Nothing like this has ever been done for us or her. It would be a relief off my parents back and for my little sister and I to know that she is in a safe car driving to and from mountains. I want to thank you again for at least reading this. Please put some thought into this and have a Merry Christmas.

Two and a half time cancer survivor, breast and malignant melanoma, inferior cardiac infarction, severe arthritis with two surgeries coming up for the arthritis, just had arthroscopic knee surgery a couple of months ago. I live by myself, sixty-one years old, along with my beloved pet and companion cats. I also rescue and trap stray and feral cats and kittens, and other animals, if necessary, and bring them to a local Humane Society. I have seven, indoor cats, all but two were strays and ferals. In the past year, I trapped eleven cats and kittens from one feral colony, and approximately four others who were strays. My 1988 Chrysler New Yorker, which I absolutely love, is in need of a couple of major repairs. I already put $3,000. worth of new parts into it a few years ago, but now I am trying to exist on Social Security Disability, and have absolutely no extra cash to get the repairs done, so my car is sitting in my driveway not drivable, due to transmission failure, and a wheel problem. The car is running just fine, and I run it a little while each day to keep the battery charged. I would be very satisfied to have enough money to get my car in almost new shape, so I can put another 100,000 miles on it. I love my old car, very sentimental to me. If I could get it repaired to be like new, and mabe get a new one to use for longer trips, like back and forth to Boston to visit my daughter, whom I haven't seen in over two years now, due to finances on both ends. I would love to have a new vehicle, not only for myself to get around to do my errands, to pick up my prescriptions, get to appointments, etc., but to be able to transport the animals that I rescue and trap to the Humane Society, which is about a forty minute drive away. I truly am in desperate need of a new car, and need my old one repaired to be like new also. Eventually, the old one may go to my daughter in Boston.

Hi Ellen,

I live in Canada, yes we have lots of snow already. I watch you on a regular basis. You amaze me, this is what I see in you. You have such a kind, generous spirit. You bring sunshine and light to everyday people who truly deserve to be blessed. I read the emails about people wanting a new car. I cannot ask for the same, there are people who need a car so much more. People deal with real hardships everyday and I believe that they need it more. We all have our own story and we all have things we must go through. You make me laugh everyday and I just wanted you to know how much that is appreciated. That gift is worth so much more when there isn't much laughter to be found in the world we live in. Wishing health and happiness your whole life through. Merry Christmas!

Next time you win a car please think about us. My 1992 New yorker which I call 'Old Bessy' has finally kick the bucket. She gave us the best of her engine life, leaving us at 281,000 miles. My company had to down size and I was cut after 10 yrs of service for them. Didn't need this for the holidays but a new yr is coming and I'll see what my journey has in store for me. What a trip so far. Old bessy is now in that giant scrap yard and I have no way of getting to job interviews. So, the next time u win a car, please think of me.

I don't need a new car I have a 2005 but my next door neighbor could use a new car she very hard and does not have the funds to buy one, she gets hand-me-downs but she is very grateful for them. She leaves at 6 am or earlier for work and now is snowing in N.Y. (up-state). Isn't it all about helping someone out at Christmas time and really all year long. Ellen,
My Partner and I are dedicated Monday thru Friday watchers. Our favorite part of your show is the first hour (hahahaha). Anyways, I work for a major pathology laboratory called PAML and my partner and I only have one car. Since I am the nicer half, I let her take the car to work so she can also pick up our son, Jayden (7), from school. So, that leaves me with riding the bus too many times a week to count. Now I normally wouldn't complain but I seem to attract all of the wierdos that want my phone number. Anyways, I need a car Ellen! Help me become one of the normal humans that drive to work on a daily basis. We love you Ellen. Keep on ROCKIN BABY.

My 1990 Chevy white wagon is dying!
It goes for maybe 6 miles and as I'm driving it stops. It may start again and it may not start.
I really like my wagon, too. I need a car for work
and to get to the store and to see family and friends.
It took three days and two friends to follow me to get my car home, which is 30 minutes or 30 miles away from where it was parked.
Ellen if you could win me a car that would be cool and if I could help you win me a cart that would me great.
If I could fly to meet you that would be
neat, I've never have been in a flying plane and I've never met you. I watch your show when I'm at home, I watched your past shows, too. I think you're Funny and kind.

Hi, my name is Nancy and I am a grandmother of 13 grandchildren but I am raising 4 of them by myself. Mother has problems and the father is not in the picture and hasn't been for sometime. I am in a training program learning about computers, so I may get a good job so that one day I may be able to get a nice home for me and them, and a car. the training program I am going to helped me buy a use van, but I was on my way to Kansas city, Ks to pick up some of are stuff that is in storage, but the van's tranmission went out and I had to call for my dad to pick use up. We got in to a car accident on the way home and rolled his car. (Now I had lost a granddaughte back in 93 on that same highway just 10 miles up the road. Now you can just imagine what must be going thought my head now.) I try not to stress or show the kids that we are having a hard time, they do know we don't have much money and around the holidays it's hard. Last year we just got the apt we are living in now and riding around in a 88 ford range truck which I no long have and I couldn't get them a christmas tree no big dinner and 1 small present. We made it thought that year cause we had each other. Now again something has happened around the holidays and it's really getting to me. All I want is to get a nice car for us so I can get a good job and get us out of the place we are in. If you only knew about this place!!!! but again I still have them. I just wished there was some place out there that can help me in the search for a good car. well if I could get a minvan would be better, but that's asking to much I think.

My wife cooks on Fridays & it would be nice to have you & your crew to come & visit us in our Christian Kitchen. All of our food in the pantry is donated by generous people & Stores who give what they can. We watch your show everyday & enjoy your laughter & program & sense of humor. Keep smiling & God Bless you & your Program & workers. May you Have A Blessed Christmas & a Happy New Year. Our Ministry---- we work at is called the "because HE lives" soup kitchen.

Hi Ellen. YOU ROCK! I was, just today, thinking about how great it would be to do something wonderful for my 20 yr. old daughter. She works her tail off as a server at Buffalo Wild Wings in Rochester NY and is trying very hard to be independant. She does have a car but the payments are extremely difficult for her to make, what with rent, utilities, and everything else. She is always the first one to help a friend in need, to the point of giving them her last dollar if that's what it takes. Thank GOD for my parents. They have helped her out as much as they could as well, but now with my mother in her 70's and being the only source of income,(she still works 2-3 days a week just to keep her health insurance)it's impossible for them to help her anymore. We also have a 3 yr. old son with a very rare growth disorder so, even though we do what we can, we can't afford to help her financially.........unless you count the $20-$25 here and there. It sure would be AWESOME if you could win Amanda a car. I can't imagine anyone appreciating it more! Thank you, Ellen! Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Hello Ellen:
I was looking through your site and came across this link, so hopefully this is true- are you giving another car away. I wish i had the opportunity to give a car to someone who really needs it must feel real good, huh?
i was reading some of the stories on here and i have no comment, i dont want to sound like i have a sad story cause i am a go getter, my mother has made me into a strong female. i cant say that my life is roses0- actually for the past eight yes i mean eight years my life has remained in the dark. But my strength has always put a smile on my face (i dont want wrinkles) my reason for NEEDING a car- seems like i just recently became a single mother of four, i say recently because i already had a ten year old son- then i had a two year old daughter an 11 month old daughter and am currently expecting another daughter december 27 of 2007. i was in a very rough relationship and was forced to live with my mother she lives about a thousand miles from any civilization, i am not on her insurance so i dont drive her car. i was only expecting to be living with her for 6 to 8 months which is now going on two years. if there was access to a busline, i think i would have been out of here in my 6 to 8 month time frame. I have great office credentials and can earn the money i need to go take care of my children and myself. Hey, maybe we can rent a car for a year and i can show you, Smile. long story short i dont see any light at the end of the tunnel even if i move could you imagine taking three toddlers to daycare, the grocery, doctors office on the bus alone. Scary- yeah i know. But one thing if i have to i will, my children are first i wont just sit still and expect the world to move for me. i am currently waiting on subsidized housings waiting list though. I have no choice because i can't get to a job, to get my own place.
i hope i dont sound like a mooche, and i hope you keep me in your thoughts.
thank you for the time of reading this long long letter- many great shows ahead, look forward to watching. please dont go off the air

Ellen, I sure could use a new car. I have had a lot of life changes since 2003. My husband passed away and since then my whole life has been turned upside down. My Mother has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She is not a canadate for surgery for a worn out heart valve. She has Rhumetiod Arthritis and is confined to a wheelchair. The heart doctor is amazed she is still with us. He did not expect her to make it 3 months after her diagnosis. I do not get out of the house only to go to work and come home to take care of the house and Mom. She has only 1 working kidney and has low iron, so she has to take Procrit shoe at least evey other week. The drive to the hospital is 30 min. one way. My car is worn out but I have been so lucky because a friend I work with and her family have been so helpful by working on my car to keep it running for me. But on the other hand I am going to be a grandma for the first time in January. My daughter Bunny and huband Andy live with me but they can't afford a car either. So we all share one car to take us to all of our appointments. Ellen thanks for all you do and your show is great. I hurry home everyday from work so Mom and I can watch you together. By the way we rescue animals. We have 5 dogs, 8 cats and 2 guinnea pigs. Now you know why I can't afford a new car. We love you in Ohio, Kay and Mom

i heard that you are giving away a car. i sure could use one. my sister and i have lived together for 4 years now and we both share one car. i use to work at the same country club as her and it seemed okay at that time to be carpooling. i have since been laid off with no fault of mine. i would love the chance to win a car from you, ellen. i watch your show everyday, in between finding another job. i guess at a certain age, it is harder. would you like for me to come and work for you? i have a great sense of humor and actually became a STAR at the country club where i worked. it was just so nice. i cried for weeks, after finding out i was without a job. if you could please consider me, i would be mighty beholdin', ellen. it would help my sister and i both, as it is hard to get around with only one car.

thank you sincerely

Hey Ellen~

No big sob story here. Just need a newer car and don't have the $$. Pretty simple. If you've got an extra car around that you're not using I definitely could use it right now. Gotta get to work somehow. Minivan blew up this week; so I'm trapped like a rat here at home. Doesn't have to be a new one. Slightly used is fine. Don't care about color or style either. As long as it runs, that's all I need. If you can't help me out, that's quite alright. I still won't miss a show!

Dear Ellen,
I live in Marietta, Ga.I am in need of a minivan so bad. I have a 2 year old daughter and currently pregnant with baby #2 due in May 08.
I hve to leave home very early in the morning to drop my daughter to the daycare before I go to school(I am a Nursing Student). It is very cold in the morning and I have to walk about 3 miles to get to the bus stop. Because of that my daughter is having a severe cold that is never ended. My husband and I are separated because I caught him cheating.I cannot have any child support money since he refuses to hold a job.
I am just asking myself how will I do it after the birth of my second baby.
I really cannot afford to buy a car right now because of my program I have to concentrate to graduate in May of 09.
I would consider if you can win a minivan for me.
your show is an excellent show and my daughter and I watch it every single day.
Keep up the good work and I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks in advance

HEY ELLEN! i am so br0ke! LoL. I am 18 years old and i just recently moved to South Carolina from New York. I left New York to start over. i was surrounded by negativity and i knew that i was never going to reach my full potential. Here in South Carolina i plan on getting my own place, my own car, a new job, and also a degree. Since i dont know anyone other than who my boyfriend knows i find it much easier to start fresh with no distractions. I am currently living with my boyfiend and his mother (they are awesome they have helped me out so much) but in the beginning of january i will be moving into an apartment with my boyfriend. i cannot afford a car (or atleast a safe one) so i am trying to save up. it is very hard for me to get around because everything is a good distance away and i feel that it is yet another thing holding me back.

i am hopeful that you will read this, i would appreciate any help that you have to offer.

keep smiling : )

Hi Ellen,
I really could use a new car because mine is a 30,000 mile lease and I am already at 26,000 miles and I'm just now finishing the first of my 3 years into the lease. When I took the lease I had a second car but it went capoot and now we have been forced to use the leased car and rack up the miles. At this rate I will have 30,000 miles by Christmas and have to park the car for 2 years and still continue to pay for. Just dumb luck. I go to college and work full time and I wasn't willing to quit going to school just because I had to worry about the miles. But now its getting to the point where I just might have to worry. Have a great holiday, I love your show. Keep up the good work.

Dear Ellen,
I love you & look forward to your show daily. I just retired from my job so I could be a stay at home grandmama and help my daugters with watching their kids while they work.
Do you ever think to give someone a used car? That way they don't have to pay taxes on the new one which they probably can't afford.
As in the many letters you receive about how someone needs a car here is my story.

I have a daughter who is a single patent, the father of the children died, of a brain infection, when she was preagent with child #3. She is driving a '94 blazer, that I gave her 3-4 years ago, which is now in sad shape. The 3 car seats barely fit and you always smell gas fumes. I worry about them all the time so I have her call me when she gets home every night just so I know they are safe. If you ever decide to have a contest or something of that sort please toss in Tracey's name so she can have a chance of winning.
Thank you for listening.

I listen to them every morning at 6 am and then you at 3 pm, and between watching you both, my day is awesome! And when you called in for that contest that were as stunned! And for non-stop 2 weeks they kept going on and on about how they were going to dance on your show and that they were so excited. I think it was worth it to them. Okay, I just wanted to stop by and say your amazing and I love you! Ah!

Hi,
I think it is great that Ellen won a car for someone. i have a daughter who could use a car to help transport herself and my two grandchildren to appt.,school activities ect. My daughter lost her husband in a tragic auto accident three years ago, Kourtney and Joe did not have any life insurance and it has been a struggle for her and the children since, I help when I can, however since I lost my own husband a little over a year ago i have a hard time being able to help her as much as I would like. Kourtney is in desparate need of reliable transportation, I can only hope that she would be selected to win an auto to thanks

Hi Ellen,
First of all your show livens our spirit so much! I am sending this for my husband who desperately needs a new work truck. We have been traveling a rough road for almost 2 years now and we finally have some light at the end of the tunnel. My husband has made many sacrifices for our family, including driving the worst vehicle for may years to work so that I could drive the better one. Now that we are empty nesters we are planning for our retirement and hopefully working our tails off!! Hense the new work truck. My husband is a carpenter and now that we are living in a condo he has to travel to a storage unit to retrieve his tools before he can begin his day. It sure would be easier with his equipment on board. I hope that you win another vehicle and you keep us in mind. Keep Dancing and Smiling!!! Carol

Ellen,

This is Melissa Dooley, you've read my emails on your show before. Unfortunately I didn't see it. Could you send me a copy of that show? Sorry off topic. I'd like a new car. I have a car and it runs well ;it's a 2001 Yellow ford focus that always has something that needs fixing but thats how cars are right? anywho I'd just like a different one. I'm being honest, theres no story here that will have anyone in tears, I'd like a new car; plain and simple.

If I don't get it fine.
Just thought I'd try and see what happens.

I'll admit I'm doing this out of complete boredum on my day off.

I love your show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Helen, I'm sorry but I really don't have a sad tale to tell of my life. I really have been blessed. I really need you to win this car for my daughter who just turned 21. She is in college and unfortunately has no vehicle cause our 93 is not worthy of city streets (don't laugh, my other vehicle is a 83 Cordoba)
ok, so you're laughing! She has worked since she was 12 and has taken every dirty job that was ever offered to her, she has never asked us for money to buy anything, if she did not have the money then she went without. She is in college (which she has also paid for)and going through to work with special needs children and walks over a mile to school and back everyday. Her stepdad has done everything possible to keep the vehicle running but now it is in the "dangerous to drive zone". She starts at her placement in January and without a vehicle may not be able to to take it and it is her dream job. Come on Helen help me put a smile on a kids face that has always been a good, hard working, wonderful person and that has
tried so hard to get the most out of life.
I'm so very proud of her and if I could afford to buy her a vehicle I would do it in a heart beat. By the way we love your show and I still really think you need to add "the worm" to your dance. I could get my 73 year old mom to do it for you cause she did it at a wedding years ago,
of course at that time Dad and I pretended not to know her but damned if she didn't come back to our table after ha ha. Thanks for always making me laugh over the years, you're the best!

Hi. I've been wanting a new vehicle but, I don't think I'll be able to on my own. You see, I am a single parent (new mom) to my 1 year old son.
My car is going on about 10 years now and slowly going down from there. Also, I will be starting a new job.

Ellen first of all I love your show and your dancin is off tha chain!lol I pray you'll learn tha soldier boy soon;) But anyway ther are alot of sad stories of people who need a car but I think my friend is one of those special people who would deserve a new car. She is a young woman who has six children who are her natuaral children she has been on her own since 16 with really no finicial help from any of her family. No family that helped with the first car or first apartment something that most people get help with. She has taken care of the children basically by herself for years caring most of her own pain and struggles inside. She is a great mother in spite of the burden on her helping others in her community humbly, helping other young girls and mothers, all while balancing activies she tries to get out to do with the children who are stair steps 8months,3,4,5,7,9 this does ot even include their doctors appointments and such. She has to pack them all into a small ford explorer. The car has stopped in the middle of the highway with them in it,the gas meter broke so it be running out of gas at any time, and they basically cant fit in it. It has been times it has sit for weeks her and the kids couldnt come out because she had no gas cause they needed food or she had to pay the bills barely gettin by. If i could I would give her a house that was her and her kids own where she would never have to worry about space for them or rent and a car and everything she deserves. She helped me when I was sick and she was 9 months pregant with noone to help her! Everyone could use a helping hand sometimes I believe she would be worthy of it maybe she could finally be able to finish colleage to get a job where she could live a better life she could take care of the health of her children and herself being as though I know she has been having some issues since the birth of the last child. I also believe she is a person who would PAY It Forward and use an opportunity such as this to help others and be more of a blessing to them in the end this is what is important for any of us contributing

Hi Ellen,

My boyfriend and I were involved in a car accident this month. The driver of the other car did not have a valid driver's license (due to his prior DUI) and made an illegal turn from the middle lane. Luckily, no one was hurt, but as a result, my boyfriend's car has been wrecked. The car wasn't worth much, and the other driver's insurance won't repair the car. They will only provide market value of the car, which is not enough to replace a car or get a car that is running. My boyfriend is a medical student and now can't go to school, work at the hospitals in the Chicagoland area he needs to, or volunteer at the medical clinics for the homeless that he did. We really don't know a way out considering he has mountains of student loans and no income at this time.

If your show could do anything to help, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Connie

Dear Ellen,
Hi,How are you? I can tell you I am one of the thousands of Americans who want need and could use any car and if the are like me if it runs and it's not stolen I'll take it. My story is the same as so many other woman out there I doubt would make a free car but I got to have a rotten teenage life in and out of institutions and was nice to put my self into a prison of Marriage for 20 years 15 I lived with him Gave him 3 children before I ran away. Dear Ellen,
I have been confined to my home for a long time now. As I rely on a wheelchair for mobility. My apartment is very small and in the basement of a three flat.
Wow, how I would love to win a car. Actually a wheelcharin accessable van or suv. I know , thats too specific. Right now I have a little car with a lift in the trunk. It is difficult for my friends to get my wheelchair in and out of the car.
I love your show. I watching your show. I watch it everyday that I am home. That is if I'm not at the doctors. I try to schedule all of my atpointments in the morning so that I can watch your show . It comes on at 3:00 here in Chicago. Ellen you light up my life with your wonderful humor. I don't how I can ever thank you enough for brightening my day.

Dear Ellen: One of the highlights of when I have a day off from work is watching your show! I love your sense of humor, your honesty and your dancing girl! If you ever win another car, would you consider me? I've never owned a new car, only old beaters who always die out on me. I'm the only breadwinner as my husband recently became legally blind. I've got 2 teenagers who are great kids. My wish would be to have a new car that would be dependable so that we could do more things as a family, taking road trips as a kid with my family has left me with some great memories. I'd love to give my kids and husband those kind of memories. Wishing you continued success Ellen!

Hey Ellen, I remember one of your stand-up shows from the 80's ( the one with you swiping at the bees and it looks like your dancing from across the way), I was about four or five and I peed my pants and woke my Dad up out of a "dead" sleep because I laughed so hard, and that was my first Ellen experience. I appreciate your genuine heart and how much your spirit shows even when you don't know it. I have an older sister who is having a hard time in life, she is a single mom of a one year old and a two year old. Her boyfriend/partner/babies father, of fifteen years, picked up and left her for a new girlfriend. He took the car, turned off the heat, phone, electricity, water, stopped paying the mortgage and told her to get a job, that he's "too young and has to live his life". She has received some help from family and from the government for things like some bills and food for the kids, and that little bit is a moutain climbed in this case and if I had enough for all of us I wouldn't be writing this e-mail, I would be spoiling my neice and nephew with every dollar I had. If you can help with anything it would be a dream come true. Thank you so much for your time and whether or not I hear from you will never affect the love , admiration, and appreciation I have for you and your great impact on this big world.

I have a chronically ill 16 year old daughter who would give anything to have a car and drive her self to the doctor. She thinks it would relieve me of the burden of always running her to appointments. She is an amazing young lady. I would love to tell Ellen more about her but not in a blog.

You know what Ellen, I can only imagine how it felt to win that car and give it to Glenda. When you do things like that for people I too can feel that feeling you get inside of your gut and heart. Its a feeling thats hard to describe but it sure feels good doesn't it. I too wish I could do something big like that for somebody, but I always make it a point to do somthing nice for someone, being taking their cart back into the store, opening a door, asking if they need help with their bags etc. I catch myself looking for someone that I can help because I love that feeling you get and the appreciation of knowing that you gave a perfect stranger a helping hand when they didn't even expect it. I hope whoever has the privelege of receiving the car will have the opportunity to lend another human being a helping hand just like the one that helped them.

Dear Ellen,
Its me again! I wrote you once or twice before about my aunt/mom! But the story changed a little bit i feel really bad because she has grand children and she has no car i was letting her use my car but the car isn't in my name and the person that has it in her name called the cops saying that only one person can drive the car so now she has no car to use and she lives way out in the boonies so a new car would really help her and family! oh yeah and also her youngest daughter is having a baby which isn't weird at all cause in the native american ways when someone close passes away a new one comes so thanks for your time!

After being a caregiver for her mother for many yesrs her mother passed and she fulfulled her dream of relocating to Orlando, Florida to work for Disney - her idol is Minnie Mouse, anyway, in the 1st 5 weeks of living in Orlando, she endured 4 hurricanes. She lost everything. Furnishings, personal items, momentos of her parents, etc. all wiped away. She reluctantly returned to Denver to try an rebuild her life. After 3 years she is still struggling with a car that is broken down more than it runs. She struggles each and every day to move on. This is a woman that helps everyone and anyone she can. Now it is time to give back to a wonderful lady that never asks for anything herself. She watches you all the time and I know she would love to meet you and be on your show.

I don't have a heart braking story about why I need a car. All I've got is I'm a grandmother raising my 13 year old grandson and my husband drives a 1990 Honda civic with 289,000 miles( great Honda commercial) and my grandson will walk to church and school things before he'll been seen in our car. I remember those days when my parents drove what we loving called the yellow banana boat. We help our single daughters raise their daughters(8,6 and twin 3 year olds) and my loving husband,Travis will take us somewhere in two runs "coz we all cann't fit with two car seats and three seat belts. My husband(married into this already made family)is great but all he wishes for is little camper and BIG Harley!!!!!!

dear Ellen,
i am a single mom of a teenage girl.
I recently got my car reposed after paying payments for 3 years. I got behind on my payments because a family member needed help so instead of making my car payments i used the money to try to help my sister. not knowing how diffcult going without a car was going to be. Because now I have to bum rides to my doctor appointments and bum rides to take my daughter to the doc and dentists appointments.I get it done but if you ever have a chance at giving another car away i would be ever so greatly thankful.
I also am a very big fan of your show, I watch it everyday. you are wonderful and loving person .
GOD BLESS YOU ELLEN

Hey Ellen,
I had every intention of saying that a new car would truly be a blessing to my daughter and I, I was going to tell you why I felt like we deserved one. Now after reading all the comments left for you, I feel ashamed and selfish. Life is not good, alot, to alot of people, but I bet if we all took the time to think about it, there is something that everyone of us could find to be thankful for.
Instead, I would just like to say God Bless you for all that you do for people, and thank you.

Your show is truly a classic. Tape it daily and enjoy it in the evenings.Great time at the end of a day. Bonita

Hi Ellen!

If there's such a thing as miracles, I would like to have a car!

My car was sold by my family when I first got sick over six years ago. I'm finally doing GREAT but lack a car. I'm on Social Security and do not have the money to save for one, nor will I ever have... I'm doing so good now I want to get out of my little apartment and do things, including go back to work and contribute to society both by working and volunterring in community and church. I need a miracle, send me a car. Thanks.

end entry

Hi Ellen, I don't need a car but my poor 16 year old daughter does. I bought her a car for $200 so she could drive her and her sister to school and herself to work. Although the car runs (rough) you can certainly see why it was only $200. It's an old Honda with dents and spray paint to cover the rust and scratches. I knew that she would be embarrassed to drive it to school (you know how cruel kids can be) but that is all I could afford. If you could win her one I know she would be the most happiest kid in the world.

This is why my mom deserves a car - please read the speech I wrote her
We want you to know how much we truly appreciate everything you do for us and for that reason, we think you have a lot to celebrate.

You make this day special, but you make our lives even more special!

For starters, you are a great provider, an inspiring Woman, a mentor, a Wonderful Mother and father to us, a best friend, & a Terrific Grandmother!

You are the kind of Mother who puts her family first, and does whatever it takes to make things right.

You have helped us to grow with love, truth, and honesty and you have helped us to choose the right path with values, morals, and self worth.

Even when times got hard, you were there to let us know...that we'd get through them.

You continue to give us dreams filled with hope and confidence.

You may not know this, but Dina & I often pray to be mothers like you, to shape our children into strong adults, full of hopes and dreams.

You always taught us to give to the less fortunate and to live by the rule in life to pay it forward. You made us who we are today and if it wasn’t for you, who knows where we’d be today.

We believe that God makes angels, and you were one that he touched and God gave us you

Somehow you did it, even when it was tough and you gave up a lot!

There are 2 phrases that came to mind and they touched us & we wanted to share these words with all of you:

First - It’s not the years in your life, but rather, the life in your years!

And second - A Friend is a Gift whose worth can not be measured, except by the Heart!

Mom, you always taught us that it is not the number of friends you have, but the quality of friends you have. You also taught us that friendship is not defined by how often you see them or talk to them, but friends are those who touch your life by making you laugh when you really need somebody, those who show you encouragement when you are down and friends are there for you through the good times and bad. We know all of your friends here today, are ones who have a special place in your heart.

Look around you are obviously blessed and special because you have both the quantity and quality of friends.

When we were planning this party a friend of yours called us and asked who we had invited, they asked if we had invited any relatives – I answered by saying we really never had any close relatives and mom’s friends have been our family throughout the years. Anyone who has a place in our mother’s heart, has a place in ours. Dina and I truly mean that – all you you here tonight are our family!

Mom, you continue to give from the heart and you are so talented in many ways and you always go above and beyond anyone we know.

Some of our fondiest memories of you, were when we were growing up… like the time you didn’t just make a gingerbread house for Christmas, you made a gingerbread house that was an exact replica of the porthole which also included the owner’s dog.

Or when we were kids, we went to school on halloween and all the kids had the plastic costumes with the masks and Dina and I show up as a 5x5 foot pair of dice.

We never understood why our friends at school wanted to trade their sandwiches with us at lunch time. Now we get it - they had tuna and we had eggplant parmagiana w/ meatballs and a side of ziti.

But best is when Dina & I called you and you told us how tired you were and you were at the brink of tears that day. So later that day, we showed up at your house to find you making an eight foot easter bunny for a decoration for the front of your house – and we looked at eachother and just died laughing!

Mom you did these things because you are so devoted to every thing you do and maybe even a little crazy at times LOLOL

Well, we are all grown up now and we want you to know - if we didn't have you there for us we wouldn't be half the women we turned out to be!

For all of you that may not know this, my mom decided to take a college course on top of her already hectic life. Mom we are so proud of you - today we tell you to dream whatever you desire to dream, go wherever you wish and seek whatever you desire because life is defined by how you shape it.

Live life to its fullest and always smile in spite of difficult times. Life is beautiful, but even more beautiful with a mother and friend like you.

May every moment of your life be filled with happiness and always remember we Love you, more than you could know, more then we could ever show and more then these words can ever convey – MOM – you are irreplaceable!

Oh Ellen, your 700th show was awesome!!! As far as the car? I don't need one, but I think it is great that you have such a huge heart that you would give someone something they need and deserve so much.

I think you are a wonderful person and I think it stinks that ppl are bashing you over this stupid picketing the writers. I think they need to leave you alone and let you do what you do best, taking care of ones that need you. You make my day, you give me a laugh when I need it most, you are just awesome!!!

I always know when it is time to feed my babies and the wild animals I feed outside, the squirrels and birds, when you show goes off, lol.

Keep up the good work and keep making us happy with your shows.

Luv Ya,

Theresa

Hi my name is Nicole, and I'm 22 years old. My mom never had a nice car, i remember when i was younger being embarassed to be seen her car. Right now my mom hasn't had a car in 2 years, and we live in a small town where the closest grocery store is at least 6 miles, and I live with her at the time being, I have no car it got totaled. So it really sucks to have to ask people for a ride to the store. My mom is 45 years old, it would be nice to see her get to get out of the house, she don't get to leave. Which we are going through a hard time right now, she's a great mom, single mom rasing 3 kids on her own working for minimim wage. Thank you Ellen for having the time to hear me out, I love you girl, your awesome.

Ellen, A RED car of any shape or design would be a dream for my mother. She recently turned 60 and is now a widow. She loves traveling and a vehicle would give her the chance to do what she loves. She has spent way to many years taking care of me and my brothers. Godspeed. Me

I'm a single mother of three girls. One is 8 and my twins are 3. I've never really needed anything in life until now. A car would be a prayer answered. Happy Holidays to all :)

She never complains and drives a Ford Focus with over 100,000. miles on it with taped up windows that won't roll down. She is loving and giving and an awesome mother. She takes such good care of her little car now it would be amazing and a dream come true for her to have a new car. Thanks for all you do.

Good Morning Ellen how exciting that this wonderful lady was luck enough to win a car with your help. I have never haad a brand new car my first one was a 1987 Ford Tempo that was my aunts and she sold it to me when I was 19 (1994)for twenty five hundred and that lasted almost two years and then the transmission went out. Then my grandmother bought herself a 1994 Chevy Cavalier and she was getting to old she sold it to me in 1998 for the great bargin price of $3800.00. Then I got married in 2000 and my new husband bought me a used 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan from someone from his sisters work for the bargin price of $9800.00. And when he brought it home I remember being angry because I thought why did you spend all our money on this car we were trying to save for a down payment on a home. And at that time we only had one child, but now it is 2008 almost and we still have the 1994 Chevy car my husband drives it and the 1998 dodge Caravan but now we have three children to fill in the car, but my next car I would like a girly car something cute but practical since I am still a mother dropping of and picking up children and there friends so a small porche or corvette or jag would probably not do, but maybe a pimped out mini van!!! (LOL) Thanks for listinging to my story we should all be thankful for what we got and can afford!!! Love always Janet Torres HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!

Wow Ellen, How unselfish of you. But that should not surprise anyone who has seen your show. Win a car? Sure, I would love to win a car, but I am sure there are many many folks out there who need it much more than me. Ha, like my daughter who lives in in Texas. 1500 miles is too far to visit very often, and now she is without a car so visiting is really out of the question. Havent seen my 16 yr old grandson or 13 yr old granddaughter for 3 years. But, you will have this. Just remember, "To our children we give two things. One is roots, the other is wings."
Thanks for everything you do for others.

Oh wow that was wonderful .. she was so excited.

Dear Ellen,

I love your show. Your Show is the only talk show that has a different theme not like the same drama (e.g. who is my babies daddy, or my boyfriend cheated with my mom, sister and the girl next door, etc). Your show is SO entertaining with all the celebrates and the "average joe" people on it. I love to see the talented kids on them too. I like many of the rest of your fans would love it you could win me a car. My husband and I are down to 1 vehicle. On his way home from work last week he had to call me because his car's engine started acting up. Anyways, I went to pick him up and get some oil to take back to the car. When he finished putting the oil in his car wouldn't even turn over. I am afraid that he blew the engine. Like the rest of the middle (low side) class were really don't have the money to fix it. Especially as close as it is to Christmas. We have 3 kids to buy for and for as all as we have been married it seems that every Christmas we have had to worry about getting them gifts. Thanks to the good lord we have managed to make it for them, but it would be so nice as not to worry especially with the car situation. I have NEVER asked for anything like this and I may never again, but just for 1 Christmas I would love to be able to not worry about how I will be able to pay for a car to get fixed, purchase presents for my kids for Christmas and pay on our regular bills. This would be such a HUGE and VERY GREATFUL giht to us. Thank you so very watch for you and your wonderful show!!!

Sincerely,
Debbie Rutherford

Hi Ellen,

Let me start by telling you I love your show, it is always a joy to watch. How you manage to keep it so upbeat is a great thing! And the dancing always makes us smile. Please keep up the good work.
Ellen, I am a disabled, I haven't been able to work since August of last year. My 2 youngest grandchildren live with me now, ages 7 & 5. I would be so grateful to win a reliable car, to get them back & forth to school and appointments and just be able to go places if we want to. The car we have now is borrowed and does not run very well. I have tried to research organizations that donate good used cars to families in need, but have not had any luck.

If you could keep us in your prayers, that would be a blessing. Love you and love the show. I am going to try to get tickets for your December taping. My youngest daughter and I would love to come down and see the show in person. If I am not that lucky, let me wish now an early Happy Birthday!! My 50th was fabulous, so enjoy!!!

Hi Ellen,

My mother is in desperate need of a car. It's really tough for me to watch, because I would love nothing more than provide the very best for her. She's had a really tough life. She's a single mother. Me and my mother want to be able to provide the very best for my sister. But it's been tough. Money isn't everything and I try and remain positive through our struggles. But it gets hard. We both work for a Chiropractor. She drives a company van to transport patients there, but she uses it for her everyday needs. It's like the van is cursed. It's not even an exaggeration. It breaks down every week. It's in the shop AS I WRITE. It's $600 here, $500 there. The company pays, but she's scared they are just going terminate her any day because it's getting so expensive to maintain. And when she doesn't have a vehicle it really shows on her paycheck, she gets paid per patient. We have no other vehicle. My sister is 17 she has school and work, and it's hard when she can't find a ride home because we don't have a car. Our co-workers have been picking us up to go to work. My aunt loan us her truck today, because we work tomorrow. If you could make this possible for my mother, I would be forever grateful. You have no idea how much it would mean to us.

dear ellen, there was so much to choose from and this is the first place i could find to write my letter. i dont have very high hopes that you will get this but it is lightening my heart to think you just might. i watch your show whenever i can and have followed your carreer. you have inspired me and lifted my spirits when i'm down which lately have been more so than usual. i don't have any outstanding hobbies or take care of unwanted animals. i am a 45 year old mother of 3 that i try so hard to care for and make them happy. i have been married 3 times. i guess i continuously believe that i can have a beautiful relationship, which i have met a wonderful man 4 months now whom i adore and adores me.he has helped me very much.now my problem i recently resign my job i have another one but not for a few weeks.financially i have nothing to carry me through.my 14 year old insulin dependent daughter is such a good student and i worry each second of the day of her. my insurance is done till i start work. i lost my best friend 7 years ago and it never gets easier, each day without my mom is terrible.right now i am so lost.i take care of my 87 year old aunt which makes us both feel good, i do what i can but not so much lately because i haven't been feeling that good about myself.when my dad died in 1997 my sister and i took my mom in and she was diagnosed with breast cancer. i'm so scared about the holidays and not having a christmas,i know people must ask you all the time for help and i am so embarressed.my daughter thinks i'm just great but i have feelings of letting her down.i have been trying to get assistance through the state but everything takes so long.i live week to week and have to learn to be better. i apologive for being so bold and this is so degrading for me but i need some help,i know what people will think of this but i hope you will not judge me,just right now i have hit a major road block and if nothing else i need help with my daughter's medicines and maybe some words or a plan you may be able to help me with.i admire you for your strength and courage.ellen i have always worked and have taken care of people i'm a nurse but right now i am so distraught and as much help i look for i get turned away. thank for for you time i sincerely appreciate your consideration, lots of happiness to you and your family, suzanne pare suzieq4549@yahoo.com always

Hi, Ellen. Mom and I love your show. I loved you when you did stand up comedy too. You have a way of making people feel good, laugh and like they are important too. Love ya love ya love ya!
I wish I had lots of money to help people, but well, I don't for some reason, even though I try. I have enough, food, shelter, clothing and can't complain, for the most part, but well my poor old Blazer has put me in debt this year with all the fixin on it. It's just me and mom, my 2 dogs and cat, I don't have 5 kids or a sick hubby or anything, so, I'm sure there may be someone more needy than me, if so, that's ok. Mom isn't in great shape, but she's 71 and not as bad off as some. She's a great lady, by the way:-) I love it when you help people out that are in need. I'm glad there are people like you in the world, it's a better place because of people like you.
Wish you the best, Mary, Troy, Ohio

Hey Ellen,

I'm a stand-up comic and I just blew out my engine on my car. I got a bunch of road work booked, and no way to get out there (these gigs aren't flying me). The road gigs are how I make money, so no car, no money.

It's quite a dilemma.

Hope you can help.

Been a fan since your first Tonight Show appearance.

Thanks,

Ellen

I do not want a car, I just want to help my best friend......

I have a petition of over 400 names of Woodstock Georgia supporters, family and friends and it includes Kelly Ripa’s signature. I am now adding names and my goal is to get to 10,000.

I have been emailing you alot in regards to playing Deal or No Deal with me and it still stands WILL YOU PLAY DEAL OR NO DEAL WITH ME?

Have you ever wanted to restore someone’s faith, someone’s spunk, and someone’s smile?
Well this is my biggest my reason for wanting to play, my best friend of 17 years found out that her attempts with IVF have failed. She has lost faith, she has lost her spunk, and she deserves this. She is such a wonderful person who does not live beyond her means, who is always there for me and this letter would be too long if I were to tell you everything great about her.

I want to help her try to have her dream come true.

I am a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a hairstylist; I am from Woodstock Georgia and a true Georgia Girl on a MISSION.

I have been trying to get on for about a year and you have said NEVER give up so I won't, I have been to 3 casting calls, and sent in 3 auditions tapes.
You could play for one of your many charities and I could play for the most important thing to me... my family and my best friends DREAM.

I saw your interview with Howie playing Squeal or No Squeal and you beat him then and now WE can beat the banker, I would really like it if we could go on Deal or No Deal together. I know you can make this happen.

It would be 2 dreams of determination come true!

Thanks

Hi Ellen! My name is Alessandra and we love your show you always put a smile on my face when we are watching you!...So here is my story... I have 4 wonderfull kids and in need of a car,my youngest Andrea is 2 and was born with a rare syndrome-VACTERL syndrome, every letterin VACTERL stands for a symptom and Andrea has 5 of the 7 symptoms so we are constantly at the hospital or dr. appointments, with her reguler doctors and with specialist for her kidneys and her back,I was told she would not walk because of the severe curvature in her spine, but she proved them wrong and was walking at 9 1/2 months (she had to run after her older sisters and brother)so we are always getting test done with her,she had her first surgery at 8 months and has to have more in the near future,we almost lost her to RSV and phnuemonia at 4 1/2weeks I lived at the hospital for 2 weeks.she has a weak immune system and is on antibiotics daily, maybe for the rest of her life, due to her kidney reflux.Thats another surgery to come along with her back to try and straighten it out,the curve in her back could turn into spina biffida. She is my little angel and I am truely blessed with my 4 children! The reason I need a car is for Andrea, we are on the bus and its hard to get to herdoctors on time with an almost 12 yr old boy,a 9 yr old and 3 and 2 yr old I never ask for handouts but I am in desperate need of a vehicle so please consider me whenever you decide to give a car away! We love you and appreciate everything you do for everyone! Keep on Dancing!Love ya ....Alessandra,juanito,adrianna,gracielia,and andrea

Hi Ellen: I am writing you this email because my dad who is in his 70's needs a vehicle, his truck was stoled and it was in such bad shape that the thief sold it to the junk yard for $112.00 dollars. We made a police report but it was too late when they located it it was about 12 inches high (crushed). He has another junker now that he paid $100.00 for but as you can tell by the value it is not dependable, I'm afraid for him to get out on the road. If you can please help him. He is one of the love's of my life and I truely care for him.

You're the greatest!

Hey leave Ellen alone!
OMG you gals are sad to be asking Ellen for a car. Who cares if you need a car to get grocerys? Seriously though you should be greatfull you have two legs and can walk. Ellen didn't have her success handed to her she worked dang hard for it.

You all clearly have no life experience....why not spend more time working hard yourself to get the things you want but don't need in life. There are people in real need in this world and sorry, but from what I've read your not one.

After 3 tours in the Canadian Armed Forces overseas your so called problems and needs are nothing more then wants that you are too lazy to work for.

end entry

ellen i'll take a car any kind of car. Just so i can get out of the house:) Maybe to go to the grocery store or something. We have one vehicle but my husband takes it to work. I have 2 children and one on the way. I may not use it a lot, cause lets face it, taking three children under the age of 2 can be pretty crazy. Wait.... i have a good idea. You can come babysit and I'll drive your car around for a day. You know, have a moms day out or something:) Cause i never get one of those:)
HOLLA!!!

Hi Ellen, First off i think your great i thought i comment on this cause i really do need a new car i always had hammy downs well my mom gave me her isuzu rodeo which is a 1995 because she bought a brand new s.u.v. which im very grateful for im a single mother of 2 ages 14 and 3.i thank her everyday for everything she has done for me she is the best. but anyway... the car is old its rusted all in the front .ellen i even wrap the front of my car with electrical tape and tried painting it myself.acorse it didnt really work . i have a bar in front of my truck that was fallin apart like i said i wrapped it with electrical tape to hold it together, and one day i was on the highway and the top part of the bar flew off.THANK GOD i did tape it cause it would of flew through my window .that tape kept one side together which i was able to pull over and yank it off. it would of been scary to think what would of happened if i didnt tape that end together.i was going like 65 miles and had my little daughteer in the car.to have a new car will be a blessing, its just about that time the isuzu had it! well thanks for everything ellen happy hollidays!

Hi Ellen, I've only recently moved to Australia from New Zealand and started watching your program. I think your a hard case and i really enjoy your show.

I guess you hear from people all the time, telling you sad stories and wanting this and that, and I guess I'm not much different.
I would very much appreciate anyone winning anything for me, or winning anything myself.
I desperatly need a good car, well a car period. I'm a single mother of three beautiful children,(ages 13, 8 and 1),I have a pretty good job, I have my own place, but I still depend on my parents to drive me around. Which is quite depressing. And I'm pretty sure they are pretty sick of it themselves.
Every time my son misses the bus, my mom or dad have to go pick him up.
Every time my daughter goes to gymnastics they have to run her to town.... we live 20 to 30 minutes from town(depending on who's driving)
My parents are in there seventies and they deserve a break.
That's my story, if you get the chance to read this that's great, if not , that's understandable. Just keep me in mind if there's a chance to win a car.
God bless, take care of your back and keep on dancing!!!!!!
sincerely,
love

I really don't need to win a car. I have a station-wagon. And in the back of that car I have a fold-up wheelchair. And I have an 8 year-old German Shephard that pulls me around.
So I really just need to win a Van. I have an electric wheelchair so I could use a lift-no pun intended!
Like other viewers, I've never won anything. So if you put these all in a pile, please pick mine.
If it matters, I've always loved you. From Stand-Up to 2007, & just keep on makin' everyone smile & laugh.

Hi Ellen-
I was going to post this long story but then I read other people's stories and thought it sounded too sad and a little pathetic. I just wanted to say that if you do a drawing for a car, I would like to put my daughter in it. She has had a super hard time, I bought her a car last year that turned out to be a lemon, she moved down to LA with me and didn't have any more money to fix the clunker car, so she sold it to move back up north but a week before she moved, she crashed my car (which I am driving around with the airbags messed up cause we can't pay the deductible, we are waiting for my financial aid for my college to do that, so that's ok). Then she finally gets up there and moved in with her boyfriend behind his mother's house so they don't have to pay rent in this little house in the back called "the chicken coup." I haven't seen it, but I'm thinking "Oh God". But they like to call it "The Studio" now. LOL Anyway, she's pregnant, 6 weeks now and has no car to go to the doctor or store or work or anywhere and I'm worried about her. So, she really needs a car. I'm sure if she doesn't get one by winning one, we will get her one somehow. But it would be nice! Anyway, thanks Ellen. I love your show, you've always made me laugh. I tape your show everyday and love ya! Oooppppsss, this IS long!!! Sorry!

Dearest Ellen,

My husband I love your show very very much. You are truly a part of the happapiest time of our family. I schedule my 7 month old baby's nap to watch the show too.
I tivo it for my husband so when my husband is home from work i can watch it with my husband again.

Over two years ago I promised my parents who are raising my beautiful older son and taking care of my brother(disabled) in Mongolia,to buy a car and a small house in the city. They really do deserve everything good. But sometimes I dont feel like i am being a good daughter who doesn't keep the promise. I feel so bad.
I got married and since got pregnant i stopped working because of my health issue.
My wonderful husband is doing everything possible that he can bring my son here in America which costs us beyond our budget. So we are not able to buy a car for my parents for a while. Also they are having a really hard time to let go my son who is their angel. However, I think finally they realised that he needs to grow up with his younger brother and be with his mommy. We haven't seen each other for over 2 years.
so Ellen please would you help me to show my appriciation and keep my promise to my parents.

Also it is crazy cold in Mongolia and the biggest national winter holiiday is coming in February which means they really need a car.

Thank you so much that you put huge smiles and laughters ,bring joy and happiness to so many people's day and life.
Love you love you!!!!!!!

Hi Ellen,

I would like it if you won a car for me. I don't have any sad story,I don't volunteer (but am always ready to help if someone needs it), etc., etc. We just need a new car and have never won anything besides maybe dinner tickets on a local radio station and would like to win something, truth be told.
Yes, I DO love your show and think your a laugh riot (LMAO a lot)! Love how you mix it up with the dancing and the 'web games'(?).
I am married with 2 children, the youngest 14 yrs. My husband & I both work.
Every car we've had purchased has been used and we will be needing a new car soon. However, we cannot afford the additional expense of a car payment..even if it's 6 mo. down the road. We are recovering financially from my husbands long overdue surgery and now I am home out of work on temp. disability (there's more to that than you know..maybe you DO know, lol)recovering from surgery myself.

Always a fan & thanks!

ellen, i need help. i need a car. i can't get one on my own. getting a car isn't the only problem i have right now. i owe money on my car & on some other things. i have a 1996 honda that needs major repairs & i can't afford to fix it. i can't afford to own an 11 year old car. i need reliable transportation. i'm not working. i haven't worked in six years due to disability. i had my medicare card before my 40th birthday. i've learned that being in the donut hole isn't like eating it! i took a big drop in income decades ahead of schedule. i've had surgery/surgeries of some sort every year since i've been on disability. big expenses vs low income. i wasn't ready to give up my income & insurance so early. i need help. please let me know if you need to hear more of my story to help me. thank you for your consideration! i love your show!!!!

dear ellen,
This is my first time e-mail to you. My family is crazy about you. especially my wife. she says U put a smile on her face. i try to see your shows , but its not always possible as i work with a bank. Co-incidently i saw your car give away show. hats off to whom ever writing your monologes.... but u...u do it your way. gr8>>gr8. (my wife, busy with 5 & 1 yr old daughters...) she somehow tries to take out time for u. she has a wish this year, (such a day dreamer) & she knows i cannot afford it, but she feels deep-deep in her heart that some how i am gonna get her a new seven sitter car, for her birthday-20th november or for our wedding anniversary-29th november. i tried to laugh it out & told her not possible in many ways,,,,but she has this strong feeling, she says i like silver colour & better be new one, she tries to give me hints,,, which is killing me, as i don't want to kill her wish.. but its not simply possible.
its been 4 years in this country, (v r from India)
v still rent. how can i explain her. she asks me wht r u thinking---> nissan or toyota, i said i cannot even think about kia. & i know that she needs something to go out to get a donut, or a grocery, she depends on me after i m gone at 8am.
its in my wish list, but after some 15-18 months,
ladies--ladies, its all about ladies.
After her wish for a 7 sitter, i cannot even think to surprise her in a different way. i m in this situation since last 15-20 days. & it was really a coincident that u have this segment & i watched your that show.,, but still u have like one of the THOUSAND wishes to complete, & many of them have serious needs. how would u do that... do u know that i m at OAKFOREST ,ILLINOIS?? ELLEN , TRY FOR ME O.K ALL THE BEST, NICE WRITING TO YOU. (MY WIFE DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS)

Ellen, I need help. I saw on your show where you help people like me who seem to "fall through the cracks" in the welfare system. I can't get help from many resouces because I inherited my mother's old home and 2 acres in a small rural community of McCormick. I'm too young (54) for Medicare, can't get other help because I own property. I can't find a job. I do work weekends aiding a disabled lady but her spouse has other caretakers as well and doesn't guarantee me work. I apply, apply, apply but due to an unfortunate circumstance 20 years ago I have a jail record. I am female. I am alone. I have no family, no children. I am not healthy but keep trying. I don't have transportation, can't afford a vehicle, insurance etc. My house is in need of repair, don't have any heart except for kerosene heater a friend gave me. My white friend that is sending this email for me helps me all she can (pays for me to have a phone, TV so I can at least have entertainment like your wonderful dhow and she has helped in many other ways. She can only do so much as she has a husband and family as well depending on her. Please, Ellen, include me in your heart for help. I pick up odd jobs occasionally cleaning, washing but go hungry many days. My white female friend is letting me use her email address and anything you can do will be appreciated. My telephone number is listed.

Hey Ellen i love everything you do for everyone. You are a wonderful kind soul. I don't never ask anyone for anything. I like to do for others myself. The one i'm asking for is for my mother and father. She has sacerfised everything for us three children. She has to drive my dad to and from work when the doctor tells him not to drive and he does it anyway because my mom schedule and because he is a stuborn man. I just wished i lived closer to them so i can help out. But maybe this way i can so my mom can have a depenable car to drive and not worry all the time that the car might break down on the highway. My mom and dad trys to have nice cars but everytime they get them they end up get stolen or breakdown. Not saying thats never happen to me. The car she has now they still owe a loan on. and now the car is shaking very badly when it starts going. Too many things are happening to this car. So please wont you please help my mom and dad out. They deserve a better car than what they have. Thank you Stephanie Harris from Bloomington Indiana

Dear Ellen,

My parents worked all their lives till they retired and never ever had a brand new car. My father served in Korea, and after he came home he had worked on cars and was a mechanic. He saved enough money to buy his own truck and started delivering bulk high end material rolls down in the fashion area in Manhattan,NY. He saved enough money to buy a small house and move us Mom,and the 3 girls out of Brooklyn to Long Island.
About 2 years later he was making a delivery in Manhattan, and while he was inside crooks came and stole material from his truck by the door on the other side of the truck as he was delivering he couldnt see that because all the doors were closed. He came to find out he was responsible for that stolen material and he was not insured for it. He had to sell the truck to pay for the stolen goods and after that he never did that well as far as jobs. He was a mechanic again, but never got paid every week, sometime it would be a month and it was never enough. My mother had to go to work to help support the house and bills.
Since he was a mechanic, he was always in and out of junk yards. Most of the cars they owned were junk yard cars. Our garage never had a car in it, because he has so much junk in it. He has alot of tools, parts, etc. the problem is if you ask him for a toll he always has to work on it to make it run. I tell everyone, Yes my father has everything you need, but nothing works. We have a car motor under our house, in the crawl place. They have had a rough time, got loans after the mortgage was paid and now they are struggling to pay it as they are retired and have no savings. They will never have a new car in their lives and my father is now 76, my mother is 71. He became disabled from a knee injury later in years and just had 1 knee replaced 2yrs ago. I wish I could give them this gift in life, as they dont have much more time left in life. I am disabled and are waiting 2yrs now for disability. I hope to get a hearing soon and maybe they will have a big payday from my hearing. I also had surgery from an injury and my case is pending in the court system. My wish is to settle these matters and be able to give them some money to help. But it will not be enough to by a new car and pay the loans off. There are to many stories to tell about the used parts he has used on our cars that worked for a day. As he gets old now, he can't do those things and but still trys hard. I will not allow him to touch my van mechanically. He replaced my wipers with wipers from the junk yard and I did'nt know, well you can't imagine what happened. I went to the bank and as I was at the drive threw a storm we were expecting came and the rain was coming down in buckets. I finished my banking and started to leave. As I put the wipers on they were not the right size and hit my radio antenna and fell off. I now could not drive in the storm. I had to tie a rag around the arm so it wouldnt scratch the window so I could drive to the parts store and buy wipers. He always does faggazy things to make something work and it costs you double to fix, in time and cost. It took me almost 2hrs to get home from the bank that is 3-5 minutes away. He also didnt tighten the lug nuts on my volkswagon years ago after installing brakes.I drove out about 45 minutes away to pick someone up to go into the city, then another hour and half back to get into Manhattan. As I stopped for a red light on 1st avenue in the middle of lunch hour my car fell over to the right. Then I see my tire rolling down the street as people are walking across and could not believe what I was seeing. My tire fell off in the middle of Manhattan!! This could have happened on the Expressway and I could have gotten killed. To many things go wrong, but he trys. I call him Sanford, from the TV Sitcom Sanford and Son, but he is Sanford and Daughters.
He just bought my mother another used car and as it turned out the transmission is no good. Well maybe someday soon a miracle will happen in time for them. If not from a gift, maybe from my settlements. I have not worked in over 2yrs so I can't help right now. This is hurting them to because I give them rent for me and my daughter to live in the small apartment upstairs and havent paid them either............It would be a very special gift to be able to give them a new car.
You have the biggest heart in the world, and are so kind. You are a very real person, nothing phoney about you.I have been watch you since your first appearance on Leno. I watch your show everyday and I don't know how you do it. I am hoping to see you in the NY show, still waiting to hear.
Thank You so much

Hi Ellen,
I would like my Mom to win a van that she could get her wheel chair in. So if you ever give a away a wheelchair van PLEASE think of my MOM. She is stuck in the house and can never go anywhere.
It sure would be nice to take her shopping like I used to do. We always had such a great time. Now she just sits in the house and does NOTHING.
We love you!

Ellen: My mother deserves a new car: The health of my mother has always been in question. She has polycystic kidneys. She started dialysis many years ago; she went 3 times a week for 7 LONG years. She then started traveling to Boston for who knows how many times for crazy testing. And finally was able to receive a kidney transplant 3 years ago. And, yes, she is doing WONDERFUL. We just learned last week that her brain aneurysm has increased in size (they were hoping it would be absorbed)and she will be needing brain surgery now! We find out the specifics today.

Hi Ellen, Here's my story,I was hurt in 2004 at a job that I absolutly loved, since then I have never received workmens compensation or any kind of income, my husband works very hard, see I fell and broke my arm in 12 differant places, have had problems since, bills to be paid, had to file bankrupsy, I am horrified everyday til I watch your show. Ellen all I am asking is for your prayers, seems evrything you do and touch turns to gold. This year all I'm asking for Christmas is tickets to your show, that would make my dreams come true, I know it sounds like I'm begging, but Ellen you make my day everyday for an hour. We really don't need a car as much as someone else is in need, just asking for tickets, Love you Ellen Kathy in Illiois

Would you consider winning a car for my niece Kate? She is driving a 1996 Nissan Sentra that I gave her many years ago when I bought a new car. Kate is 34 years old and suffers from Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis...has had both her hips and knees replaced and her other joints have fused on their own. She suffers from excrutiating pain yet she always has a smile on her face and everyone who meets her feels blessed to know her. She never complains and I truly believe God picked her to show other people how to count their blessings. Kate went with us to see your show in NYC last year and stood on the line outside Central Park for several hours and would not let me ask your staff to get her a chair or to let her in to sit down. I begged her to let me ask for a chair, but no, she absolutely refused. She never wants any special treatment which is why I admire her so much and believe you would too if you knew her. Her life revolves around her dog Maisy Mae and she will not go anywhere without her. Selfishly I want Kate to get a new car because then she would be able to go places safely and we do not have to worry about her. I know this sounds gushy but anyone who meets Kate loves her so much and can not believe she is so happy when her life is so full of pain and misery. Just this past week she had another surgery (she has had about 10 or 11) and said it was nothing. Nothing was having a screw removed from her ankle (from a previous surgery to have her ankle fused) that became loose and was popping through her skin. Okay, I could go on forever because I love Kate so much but my primary objective here is to see if you could win her a car so at least she can get around a little better while she can still drive. Thank you and God Bless you for all you do to help your fellow man.

Hello Ellen, I just wanted to tell you Thank You for making me laugh. I have been working on my house since I had trees fall on it and put 14 holes in my roof. To repair the roof we took our Christmas money to buy the things that we needed to fix the roof. I have pictures of the trees on my house too. But aways I think it would be nice just to win one of your coffee mugs let alone a new car. And I could really use one of those too.Well its going to be kinda nice today and not cold and rainy like yesterday. So I hope to get at least one side of my roof done today. Its hard when you are doing the work yourself and the Christmas club check came late this year. Two weeks late and started getting cold and snow. Other wise we would have had it done already. Well its nice to sit and relax and watch your show after being out in the cold and rain and on the roof. Keep up the Great work and I really enjoy your show, you put a smile on my face along with so many more people. Love ya Ellen

Sincerely,Francine

I might as well get my begging in too, but not for myself. My daughter and grandkids do competion clogging. You might have seen their instructor on the Jay Leno show recently. There is a 14 yr old girl, Alexis, that clogs with them that wins every time she dances. She is an only child and her parents worship her. Her Mother and Dad both on disablity would even borrow money to take her to the competions. They got so far in debt and their credit so bad, when they bought a car the interest rate was 22% and payment was $700 a month on a Ford Escape. Last month, after school, Alexis came in and found her Dad, 46 yr olds, dead from a heart attack. Her Mom has since had to file bankrupt and lost her car. Everyone at the studio has helped her out by paying for her to go to competions, but they need a car really bad.Ellen, I know you are a very caring person. I pray you can at least read this and find a way to help this young girl and her Mom out. I also want to tell you that you get me to do something my husband has been trying for years to do,and that is TO DANCE. I love your show and the games. Please keep them going, because you keep this old girl in laughter for one hour everyday. I love you and may god bless you!!!

Ellen:
I just sent you an e-mail regarding my neighbors' mishaps and surfed your site not knowing you were giving a car away. As much as we would like a car we are driving a suitable truck so we would like you to consider our neighbors for the giveaway. Mr. Gaona (a fed ex supv) and Mrs. Gaona (a school teacher) were recently involved in a terrible accident with a carload of intoxicated teenagers. Their Windstar was t-boned on the passenger side where Mrs G was sitting causing it to rollover and stopping only because it broadsided a home. Mrs G. was taken to a local hospital to be treated for three fractures to her lower spine. Now they are left with an undependable truck and a ton of medical bills. Unfortunately the other vehicle was uninsured so in consideration for my good neighbors this would be of tremendous help to them. Thank you ...roni and lisa in TEXAS

Ellen-
First of all, I've been a fan since you did those commercials way back when with those animals that looked like their owners. I can't even remember what the commercials were for, but they were hysterical. Anyway, I'm reading these comments and a lot of them are mentioning that you may be giving out a car--are you? WHUT? I don't really know if I am deserving of a new car, but if you are giving one away...my car is a 2000 Honda, which I love, but it's been hit twice now in the last three years (neither was my fault, by the way) and is not the same, poor girl. But it would be nice to have a safe and feul efficient car to drive my babies in (I have a 22 month old and a 4 year
