OK. Let's scald and barbeque Ellen, make Iggy the talk show host with Marina as his sidekick, and give visiting rights to the hairdresser and her kids.

People please, with the horrible Iggy death comments and Scalding the poor woman who had to take Iggy back. I mean thats just a little bit too far dont ya think. I mean she was hurt by the whole situation too, and all these threats and bad comments dont help anything. To the lady who thinks this woman should be scalded to death I personally think you are a sicko and should not post comments like that and you should see a therapist.

Seems unanimous. Let's string 'em up. Then we'll barbeque the dog.

TMZ has spoken with law enforcement sources -- who now seem to acknowledge the LAPD may have made a mistake by letting Marina Batkis, owner of Mutts and Moms, take back the dog Ellen DeGeneres gave to her hairstylist.
More testimony:
Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States:
"Apparently Ellen adopted Iggy in September and, for a few different reasons, later gave the dog to her hairdresser, whose two daughters became enamored with Iggy. When the rescue group learned of Iggy’s transfer they took him from his new home, citing a violation of the adoption contract.
They may have been right on the letter of the law, but not in the spirit of the mission of Mutts & Moms."
"Ellen acknowledged she shouldn't have given Iggy away, but it’s clear she had genuine concerns about providing the pooch with a good home. Ellen has a long and consistent record of being on the side of animals, and that counts for a lot in a case like this. She has the interests of Iggy at heart."
"Mutts & Moms was too rigid, even though I am sure they are very fine and dedicated people. They were a slave to form and forgot the real-world circumstances. They lost their chance to have Ellen serve as an advocate for them and for animal adoption, instead turning a potentially positive event into a distressing experience for all involved, including Iggy."
ASPCA President & CEO Ed Sayres:
“Ms. DeGeneres’ love and concern for animals has become practically iconic. As such, we have the utmost respect for her actions in trying to provide loving homes for animals in need—she sets a great example for not just other celebrities, but the entire American public.”
“Had a similar situation been encountered with an ASPCA adopter,” said Sayres, “and had the new home met our adoption criteria, in all likelihood we would have encouraged the new home environment for the animal. Furthermore, the ASPCA applauds those who provide responsible pet care by providing veterinary needs—such as spaying or neutering—behavior training, as well as providing the animal with a safe and loving home. "
“We would encourage Mutts & Moms to re-visit their approach to this situation and look forward to a positive outcome that reinforces the importance of pets in our society and the human-animal bond.”
Alicia Wright at Connecticut Humane Society:
"Asked what the humane society might do in a situation like this - considering that the hairdresser and daughters had already bonded with Iggy - Wright said, it all depends on the situation."
"We want people to honor the contract, but if we do find out" that they haven't, Wright said, the society would carefully evaluate the situation and "err on the side of the animal."
Ricky Whitman, spokeswoman for the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA, said Tuesday she was appalled by the actions of Mutts and Moms.
"Ellen has a fabulous reputation - her interest in animal welfare is well-known and well-documented," she said.
Although her agency has a similar policy spelling out that adopted dogs who are not working out in their new homes should be returned to the shelter rather than given away, Whitman says her group "would've handled this very differently."
PETA statement:
"At a time when so many people in Hollywood, like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, are making impetuous “pet” purchases, PETA commends Ellen for adopting a homeless animal from a shelter rather than buying a dog. Every animal purchased from a pet store is a virtual death sentence for an animal desperately waiting in a shelter for a home."
"We know that Ellen was trying to do the right thing in finding the dog a new home. She just missed a step in neglecting to contact the agency first. We hope that if the new home she arranged turns out to be as good as she thought, the agency will allow the family to take the dog back. PETA does think that Mutts & Moms’ policies of doing home checks and not allowing people to transfer animals to others are good rules that protect the animals. Ellen was just trying to do the right thing — she is a huge animal lover — and surely has learned from this experience."
Steven D. Strauss, author and speaker who specializes in small business and entrepreneurship:
"Strictly adhering to policies usually makes someone's job easier, while but it also often can damage important relationships — with customers, vendors, employees, spouses, and so on."
"We saw this played out on national television last week when Ellen DeGeneres gave away to a good home a puppy she had adopted rather than giving it back to the pet adoption agency, per their policy. The adoption agency, upset about this breach of protocol, took the dog, Iggy, away from the new home."
"Of course they should not have bended policy because Ellen is famous — that's a terrible reason. But in retrospect I bet they wish they had been a bit more flexible because: 1) the dog was in a good home, and that is the goal; and 2) They received a lot of negative publicity, which is not insignificant."
"Will the floodgates open if you bend a rule to accommodate a particular customer or employee? No, they won't, they rarely do. I had a law professor once who hated the the floodgates will open argument because he thought it was specious, and over the years I've learned he was right."
"So, while the floodgates of similar issues likely won't occur if you bend a policy, you can bet that the floodgates of goodwill, will."
More:
The rescue group “should have said to Ellen, ‘Gosh, that wasn’t the paper that you signed, so let’s work this out,’ ” says Barbara Carr, executive director of the SPCA serving Erie County. “And they could do a home visit for the new family, but I don’t think they did a home visit for Ellen, so you have to be consistent.
“I think our American culture deals with problems by making another rule, and pretty soon there are so many rules that you’ve totally lost sight of what you’re supposed to be doing,” says Carr, who gives national seminars on the issue of making pet adoptions work.
“Had Ellen contacted the [Mutts and Moms] rescue, I don’t know whether they would have worked with her or not, but I know we would have,” says Gary Penny, chairman of the board of All Bassets Cherished Basset Hound Rescue. The basset rescue group does have a rule that they must be notified if a dog is given away, and “we are more than willing to take the dog back. However, we take it case by case,” Penny says.
“This case, I think, was handled wrong because Ellen had found a home for the dog, and the home seemed to be a good home. Before we jumped off the cliff and demanded the dog back, I think we would have done a home check, investigated that family to make sure it was a good home, and pretty much left it at that,” says Penny. “We’re really in it for the dogs.”
In the case of Brightstar German Shepherd Rescue, “If someone says, ‘I can no longer keep my dog,’ we bring them back into our program so we can find them a good home again,” says Leann Barnes, a volunteer with the group. If an adopter wanted to place a Brightstar dog with another family, she says, “our group would say, ‘Let us meet this family, let us pursue this option.’ ”
In Ellen’s case, Barnes says she would give the new family even more credit. “When you’re famous, you’re very choosy about the people who surround you. You have a lot of personal things that they are going to hear. So my thought was that I would probably let the dog stay with the person she gave it to.”
“The last thing a rescue wants to do is move a dog around a lot,” Barnes says. “it’s not good for the animal, and we have dogs waiting to get into the program, so to take back another dog, it’s difficult. So my thought would be, ‘Let’s meet these people you think so highly of.’ ”

See the headlines today? Animals brutally slaughtered by taxpayer-funded private animal control company by being tossed off a bridge. So THAT's where Marina took Iggy.

Very nice, forest. Too bad it is only part of the story.
You imply that this would have remained quiet had Ellen not made a public announcement, as if conducting an illegal seizure of this dog from his legal and safe loving home would not be newsworthy.
Shoot the messenger.....Ellen set up the situation, but it is Marina that chose to disregard the law and common decency.
Marina did not folloow procedure. Marina folloed the rules she liked and ignored the ones she didn't. Get your facts straight, my friend.

If I could just make one point: I have not been involved in these lengthy discussions that have been occurring here, but the fact that people continue to argue over this, I am compelled to say something. First, if seems that the argument began with Iggy being removed from his home, and that those who defend Ellen, deem this act as evil and non productive. It has now evolved into a the fact that the dog has been seen on ET and whether Marina has been exploiting her position. Now for this I have to say, the first strike that began this forest fire was Ellen's proclamation to the nation on national TV. This act made a private dispute a national one. So if Marina is now in the position of making money off of this famous dog, well the news has a way of deciding what it cares about. Ellen has been in showbuisness most of her adult life. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that by addressing the country on air she was in no way going to resolve this issue. The very nature of her business, that she has been wildly successful at, should of at least taught her that. I am sorry for those who wish to view Ellen as Saint Christopher of pets, she did not act accordingly in this case. Marina is guilty, of at most, being opportunistic. But than again, she did not create the situation that she is now allegedly benefiting from. She followed procedure, and removed a dog. What could have been settled in matter of days and forms has now snowballed. But don't let your attention stray from the snowball that started this avalanche.

An Argument Favoring Arguments

Fair is when you see both sides of an argument, and choose one and argue against the other. It is a fair and noble activity, as you now have two people trying to shoot holes in each other's position while defending their own side, leading hopefully to a new, wiser, and more highly evolved consensus than either argument was to begin with.

When done correctly, ideally the falsehood on both sides gets shot down and only the truth remains; and this is a higher truth than either side as it embodies the merits of differing viewpoints and is by definition the product of more than one mind. It is the result of evolution and concession, and continued argument to wash the crap off the truth. The truth is that which withstands the scrutiny of argument, and welcomes challange rather than evading it.

So an argument can be a great tool in seeking a solution where none has yet to become apparent. So in reality, those who see differing sides and debate/discuss/argue in addressing these points of contention are actually only apparent, or temporary adversaries. If they have a common goal, which is doing the right thing, then they have that goal in common and wind up two on the same team. This is if they are willing to let go of their untruths and occasionally adopt some of the opponent's truths, as continued argument and deliberation can lead to as they simultaneously present, explain, and defend their own argument. Fair play and logic can lead to higher thoughts when effort and passion is added. This is an organic process of sifting and is not to be feared. The grain is kept while the chaff is discarded.

That was "Alpaca Lips Now",

"I love the smell of dog breath in the morning."

Brando, from "Pickle LIps Now"

sarcastic flying digshunnairy dog of the future

Ding, ding, ding, Johnny get that man a drink, hes correct.

Oh and my friend did you happen to see the flying Iggies this morning? I did and they were just beautiful. Saw them when I was eating my toast posties and drinking my tang sitting out on the back porch. Do you think they will be back today, as I so much love there presence around me.

Oh and Im working on a parody of my own. Its gonna be based around the wizard of oz theme. Ill be sure and post it when I am done with it. It should be pretty right on and pretty funny.

You don't need diamond rings or eighteen carrot gold...
fancy cars that go very fast--you know--
they never last--no no.
What you need is a big strong hand--to
lift you to your higher ground.

Make you feel like the queen of throne
make him love you til you can't come down...

Don't go for second best baby
put your love to the test...
You know you know you got to...
make him express how it feels,
than baby than you know your love is real..

You deserve the best in life
so if the time isn't right than move on.
Second best is never enough
your so much better baby on your own

On the outside chance that your question was in fact serious,

"What's a toast postie and whose Anonymouth??"

I can only venture a guess that a toast postie perhaps may be your mail carrier with a bad hangover.

I take it "Anonymouth" was referring to the author of the fake and I think superfluous post by an imposter pretending to be Karen directly before and below (not above) Karen's post.....

What's a toast postie and whose Anonymouth??

Goodnight Gracie

Or, to put it another way, say goodnight, Gracie

Me thinks anonymouth is back in da house.

Hey there anonymouth, good to see you, now grow the h e double tooth picks up for crying out loud. No more toast posties for you young man.

Now heres a word from our sponsors of the Wizard of Oz featuring none other than the flying monkeys and toto.

A quote from George Burns: " go away little boy you bother me"

I can't thank Ellen enough for that cosmic breakdown on air that really snow balled my career. If it weren't for Marina I'd be stuck performing ball tricks for adolescents. The open road is looking full of possibilty. I just signed with Disney to film the remake of Benji (though were considering a title change. ) the dog. Looking forward to filming. See at the cinema!

Iggy

so we finally meet your evil twin.
a bit over the top, though, don't you think?
well executed, but come back to the light, please.
