hey ellen, love your show, and i absolutely miss your sitcom show and loved ya in ed tv... yeah i seen it a few times. Hope all is well with ya.
Well said Ellen...I love animals, as I know you do...I think what you did was a wanderful thing for Iggy and the family that you gave him to...I hope that everything works out for the best and the rescue people that took Iggy will be good-hearted enough to return this dog back with the girls who love it and have bonded. I hope you know what you did was a really good thing....and you shouldn't feel any regret about how it was handled from your side of things....More power to you Ellen for doing the right thing!
How cool!!My name is Iggy to. Plus I love dogs Cooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!L.O.L
I know this is old news because of the reruns BUT I can't help but to wonder if Iggy is doig ok? And how the family you gave him to is doing? You are so right, what it comes down to is finding a loving home for the dog. That was so wrong of them to take him away.
I adopted my Schitzu 13 years ago from a Humane Society. She was the 'Pet of the week' but was also slated to be put down. The county had stepped in and taken her as well as several horses and other dogs away from the cruel people that owned her. When I got her she was a mess. They had broken several ribs, broken her tail, I had to have her knees operated on because they were dislocated. You can't let her out in the cold because her paws were frost bitten.
I love this little dog and we have become extremely protective of each other. My mom who is now in a nursing home still refers to her as her Grand Dog and 'Princepessa' that's Princess in Italian. I love her so much and to this day it tears my heart out to think what people have done to her.
Thanks Ellen for taking a stand on loving aninmals so much. You are an inspiration. I wish people would take to heart what you have to say.
Hi Ellen
I love your show & try to watch everyday, sometimes even twice if my kids are watching you after school I can't help but watch you again. I've been going through a kinda sad lonley time lately and this morning was very down & almost wish I hadn't woken up at all. Well as I listened to Dr. Dyer I looked around at everything I have and should be so thankful for. I thought about how good it feels to be kind to others. I realized that I must make myself feel better and get up on on with my life.
Thank you for having Dr. Dyer on to remind us what is important, and to you for always making me laugh. You brightened my day once again and made me think I can go on and it will all be O K if I make it that way.
I know I don't really know you, but I love the Ellen we know from your show, you are a very special person with a heart of gold. (as my mother always says)
Love ya Ellen

We adopted our begal from the ASPCA. She was scheduled to be put to "sleep" but a good person at our shelter took her, while she gave birth to 5 pups and fostered them. The day I was there to chosse our pet, she was just out of surgery and wasn't feelilng well. We came back the next day, and when they brought her out to us.......I KNEW she was my baby! Needless to say our grand kids, and entire family love her, and she them. We take her to our daughters house for "Play dates" with her lab, because "rocket dog" the name my grand sons gave her, runs the socks off Cassy, now she looks like a lab should look! It's great fun for them both. Molly is walked every day. Her vet said, when we got her a year ago, not to let her get more than 24 pounds. It's hard, cause beagles LOVE to eat...and that's everything! She's loved, and has given all the family so much! None of us understand how someone could miss treat any animal! She's our baby. Now that all our children are grown, we never thought we'd ever be saying that about an animal!Molly is just like a member of the family. She slept in our bed too.........we know the feeling!
Ellen you were my only light today.
I am from Canada, I live in a small city called Barrie and the last 2 days have been heart wrenching.
My uncle Bruce (mothers brother)was diagnosed with liver cancer this past summer and after many treatments his cancer still won the battle and spread up his spine into his brain. This was very sad news for our large family (he has 9 sisters, 1 brother, wife and children) as he is only 54 years old.
My partner and I were driving down to see him in the Oakville hospital and my father called my cell phone. I could tell he was upset and trying to hold back tears, I thought he was going to tell me that I was too late in seeing my uncle and that he had passed. Instead he said my uncle Bill (fathers brother) had suddenly died of a heart attack. I was in shock, we got off the highway and headed to my parents home. After spending time with my parents making sure they were going to be ok, we continued on to the hospital. My family is so wonderful, uncle Bruces room was full of loving family members and they just kept showing up. Uncle Bruce was heavily medicated because of the severe pain so I didn't get to speak with him but when I kissed his forehead I felt he knew how much he was loved. After some time we left the hospital, said our tearful goodbye and stopped back in to my parents to spend alittle more time with them. My fathers family is also very large, 11 siblings and my uncle Bill was 73 years old. It still hadn't set in that he had passed.
Its an hours drive home so we didn't stay too long. As we were got back on the highway another message was delivered that our close family relative Nonno had just died. Once again I was in shock and worried for my 1st cousin Gina (Nonno's grand daughter) because she was 3 months pregnant and had just had a miscarrage last summer, stress was not good for her. We arrived home and had a tearful restless sleep only to wake up to another call that my uncle Bruce had passed away. Well to say the least I was overwhelmed with grief.
I spent most of today crying and worrying about how I would attend 3 funerals in one week. (thank goodness I work for a fantasticly understanding company - Rogers Communications). Then I started to reflect on how great my family is, how they are always there for each other. One of my uncle Bruce's favourite hockey players is Wendal Clarke, my family arranged for Mr. Clarke to call my uncle Bruce in the hospital. Well it happened to be april 1st and my uncle thought it was a joke, so he made Mr. Clarke answer skill testing questions about himself to prove it was really him. As I sat smiling in my apartment because that was so like my uncle Bruce to question an NHL hockey star, I thought how great it was that he got to speak to his idol before he died.
Well you are one of my idols Ellen and I really needed to see some light in my day, so I turned on my PVR (personal video recorder - like your tvo) and watched 6 of your shows back to back. Between the marsh mellow game and that adorable little boy that wrote his own book on love relationships, I was feeling better. I got off the couch, looked outside and the sun was out. You brought the light back to my day Ellen.
Thank you so much for being you!

Ellen still doesn't have Iggy. How about it all you "law professors" and people who know "never- lost-a-case attorneys"? How is it that Ellen never got Iggy back to the family and no action was taken against the rescue....oh yea...you were wrong....hind sight does s*ck, doesn't it?
Hey, you are always giving your underwear away, throw a pair this way....lol...I'd wear them. By the way your show today was great.
Peace and Love, P
'm so sorry to regurgitate this stuff but I feel I have to rebut the rebut to my previous post below.
"BOB G" says I should put my money where my mouth is and hire an attorney for Ellen's friends. Are you for real? Don't you think no one has pursued this because of the cost involved? I went to child support/custody court w/ the woman I eventually married and am currently married to, and that cost close to $5,000 for three office visits and two court appearances. Do you think these people, just because they're friends of Ellen, have that kind of money to spend FOR A DOG.? Really?
I don't dismiss microchips, however, they don't prove ownership.
I don't dismiss contracts, however, as an everyday private citizen, you do not have the legal capacity to enforce said contract yourself. I'll explain below.
"DION", if you sold me a car and came over to my house to reclaim it based on a breech of contract that we have, I can report the car stolen w/ the police and you would be arrested on grand theft auto. Law enforcement officers only care about who has ownership they DO NOT interpret contractual agreements. What you would have to do to reclaim the vehicle is "GO TO COURT". You will have to show the breech of contractual agreement and THE COURT will enforce it. So, you'd have to spend money going to court to enforce the contract, you don't have the legal power to enforce it yourself, not being and agent of the court or a law enforcement officer yourself.
Hmmmmmmmm.
Last, but not least, "SMARTY PANTS". Yea, lets get real. The car analogy does have bearing. The same ownership laws that appy to a vehicle, apply to a pet. Pets are property and until they change any laws concerning ownership of a pet, that's the way it is. Or is the concept of pet ownership just a problem if the pet were a mamal? What about pet reptiles or insects for that matter? To say we are adopting a pet is a big misnomer and if anyone is fooled by that, then shame on you for being ignorant on the matter.
You are right, Ellen broke the contract, but, the Mutts Moms woman has no legal capacity in which to enforce it herself. SHE HAS TO GO TO COURT and the court will enforce it. She is not an agent of the court or a law enforcement officer. She stole the dog.
Case closed, jury's out (correct way to spell it) and whatever else you said.
I'm just stating factual info as I see it. I'm not a lawyer and if you want to rebut me, please do it w/ facts not your opinion(s) or "what ifs".
I feel like My Cousin Vinny.
HEY ELLEN,HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT BIRTHDAY.I'M SURE YOU DID.GOOD THINGS COME TO GOOD PEOPLE.I THINK WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH BRAD PITT ,IS ON OF THE MOST UNSELFISH AN ENDEASRING THINGS ABOUT YOU.I LOVE THAT TOU ARE A REAL DOWN TO EARTH STAR,THAT HAS NOT LET THEIR MORALS OR STANDARDS CHANGE.I BELIEVE MAMA HAD AL;OT TO DO WITH YOU BEING WHO YOU ARE.YOU AND PORTIA HAVE A WONDERFUL VALENTINE'S DAY.IF I HAD THE MONEY I'D SEND YOU SOMEPLACE WHERE YOU COULD JUST GET PAMPERED ALL DAY AND NIGHT.THANKS FOR KEEPING ME LAUGHING.LAURA
Hey Ellen, watch you everyday, havent missed one show in over a year. You are such an amazing person inside and out. Never stop doing what you do, espically making us laugh everyday!!
Ellen, I started watching you last week when I was in the hospital having a hysterectomy. Even though I was in a la la morphine state, my foot was swinging when you were dancing. Nothing else was capable of swinging. I remembered to watch you the next day too. Now I am at home recuperating, I watch you every day. I won't be able to watch you when I go back to work because I don't have a dvd recorder or that tivo thingy but hope to catch you on my day off. Your show is just terrific!! The wide range of topics and human interests stories are great. And I love when you get the audience and at home viewers involved. Your down to earth, reach out to me qualities are very fresh and adventureous. Keep up the great work and keep on dancing!!!!
Hey Ellen you always make me laugh but today I actually had to put the show on pause, run to the bathroom as I was about to pee my pants. You had that chair that thing that was actually invented to tighten your abs and help your work day be fun. That was so funny I really want one!
Every day you out do yourself.
