Ellen - I would pay you $1.38 to come to Clover, SC (that's all I have at the moment!) You want to send a town into a tailspin - here is the place for you!

Clover is a one-stop-light town. Truly. ONE stop light. I moved here from a suberb of Boston in April and I have never even been to such a small place. From the Town of Clover website:

"...occupying approximately 2.4 square miles of land, the Town of Clover is located in northwestern York County, South Carolina. Clover is a quiet and peaceful community rich in history and antiques shopping."

The last part may be a stretch on their part. The area attractions page boasts the headline "Within One Hour of Clover" Other Attractions begin with "Within Four Hours of Clover."

Because we moved here in April, I was unable to keep my business running and have not been able to restart it because I do not have childcare for my 6 year old after school or my 3 year old during the day. This has caused quite a strain on us financially and mentally.

I NEED ADULT INTERACTION! You would probably be the BIGGEST (and probably the ONLY, at least for another few decades) celebrity to ever coem to this town.

God knows, I do love it here, but I really think we could cause some major disruptions for a bit! I recently was elected as the President of the Homeowners Association in my community - let's have a meeting and change all the covenants and hand out soem fines!!!

Choose Clover!!!!! I AM BEGGING YOU! I will post pictures on myspace at www.myspace.com/clovermeadows. Please consider us so I do not have a complete nervouse breakdown!!!!

Hey Ellen!
You can't go see Milly in Flagstaff! You have to come see us in Castle Rock, Colorado! When you read Milly's letter, I thought -that's it? (No offense Milly) I thought - oh my goodness, I have to write to Ellen - there is much more to do and see here than over there at a college dorm! -Then you called her today and I thought OMG, no, she can't go there, she HAS to come here!

Castle Rock is a wonderful place to live and to visit. You would absolutely love it here Ellen~! We have a Rock to climb (of course, Castle Rock). It's a beautiful hike and you don't have to be a rock climber to do it (although some have died up there:( but I can promise you won't- We have the B & B restaurant - an old restaurant - it has bullet holes in the wall from something that happened a long time ago! I am not even sure what happened - but come find out with me!- it's got that small town charm! Some of the wait staff can be a bit harsh, but my husband says that's part of the "atmosphere" in a smalltown cafe.

I love your show and I love you - you just have to come out here to gorgeous Castle Rock, Colorado. We are only about 45 minutes from Denver so if you don't love it here, we can go to Denver and check it out there:)

Anyway - we have a lovely downtown area and lots of history here. Nice shops with a small town flare. You like coffee? Let's meet at the Crowfoot Valley coffee shop! We can have lunch in an old stone church! I have never been because it's too expensive but Ellen, we could go there if you were here! Like tacos ]?- come to Yolanda's - best tacos around! Like Antiques? - we've got the Antique Barn. You can buy fancy shop clothes and cowboy apparel all in the same street downtown! You can even have accupuncture done here- have you ever tried that? Isn't that something?? Forget Milly - and come see me here. This town is booming! There is a lot happening - well there would be even more if you came to visit here!

AND - if you visit - I will show you the only "MATHROX" license plate in the whole state of Colorado! OK, that's not too exciting I know but I am desperate for you to visit Ellen!

Please Ellen - you have to forget Milly and pick me! We live in a great neighborhood with wonderful people...well except the neighbor behind us - he put up an electric fence to keep the coyotes away from his sheep! We thought - will the coyotes then come after our kids??? You can see the sheep if you eat breakfast out on our deck! And you can hear the train go by in the distance at night - Sounds like a farm, right? It's not - this is the suburbs Ellen! You wouldn't believe it - it is amazing!

It is all right here and the view of the rockies are breathtaking! Not to mention, I would be so honored to meet you!
You have to come visit me, Ellen, chose me! Not Milly!
See you soon! Call me or email me back and I will give you my contact information! I can't wait!

Hi Ellen. Love your show! I wish I could dance that well! I thought I would invite you to my hometown of Freeport, IL (just west of Rockford, IL.) It's mostly known for the public high school mascot... The PRETZELS! That's right. We like to be known as the Mightly Pretzels. You could say where the football team plays is called the "Pretzel Bowl." Our slogen was "You can eat us, but you can't beat us!" I was a 1993 grad.

Back in the day there was a pretzel and beer factory. I guess Brewers was taken by the baseball team in Milwaukee so we went with the Pretzels! We now have a pretzel store that sells the best soft pretzels around. You should come and taste one for yourself.

There is more to the town other than the Pretzels. We also hosted the Lincoln/Douglas Debate a long time ago.

If your unable to come to Freeport, that's ok. I'll still enjoy your show on TV.

Take care,
Kirsten

Hello Ellen,
I would love for you and your friends to come to my home town of Wall Lake, Iowa. That's right the Hawkeye State. This town is located in Northwest Iowa. The population is around 750 people. This town is so small, it would take less than 5 minutes for the whole town to hear that you are coming! It is part of the rural nation. Our town is small but mighty. This is the birthplace town of the singer Andy Williams, who currently has his concerts in Branson, MO. Wall Lake is also the home town of Cookies BBQ sauce. You can enjoy all your meals with Cookies BBQ sauce and they even have flavor enhancers. Wall Lake even has a wind generator. They also recently put up one of the biggest bio-deasel plants in America, so the corn be put into good use. Like I said we are small but mighty, so you and your friends pack up your bags and come to the small town of Wall Lake, Iowa! Can't wait to see you!

Hi Ellen!

I heard you are seeking a great town to come and visit! A bridge away from Seattle and right along the shores of Lake Washington lays Kirkland, WA and we would love for you to come and visit. I believe we’re one of the oldest cities on the eastside of WA, with a population roughly of 46,000 people. We aren’t too small, but among all of the communities of Kirkland, just down the street we have a little downtown strip where most of our town hangs out at. The waterfront is a great place to spend some time and most people you’ll find walking, jogging or cycling along the waterfront, strolling along with their children and dogs or sitting and relaxing sipping yummy lattes! We have a pretty charming and pedestrian friendly downtown! Other then having a coffee shop on either side of the street or direction you look (Yes, Seattle loves their coffee :) ), we have many varied cafés, restaurants, pubs and eateries with a full range of culinary experiences. We also have lanes of boutique shops, a few salons and art galleries and more to keep you busy. We’ve had a lot of development recently with new condos and The Heathman Hotel just opened in the center of downtown which I hear is a great place to stay! We’re also the headquarters of the Seattle Seahawks training center, Costco and the big boss of Microsoft has a nice little pad down the shore, just a boat ride away! So, if you like the 'occasional' rain, love coffee, and don’t mind all of my families dogs and cats (I know you love animals but we have a lot) then I know you’d love coming to visit!!

Happy Holidays!
Desiree Donlin

Ellen,
I have to tell you about my remarkable granddaughter Victoria who is 8 yrs. old. I lost another granddaughter in June-07. Her name was Kasey Marie and she was just 8mts old. This is Victoria's cousin. She died after surgery for a congenital heart defect. Victoria started beading braclets for Kasey's Cause to help other children. The whole family and friends got involved and beaded over 400 braclets. She got up in front of an audience of 450 people and talked about her cousin and her braclets and what the money for her braclets would go to. It will go to help another child with a heart defect. She has made a few thousand dollars and is continuting to bead as we all are for her next showings of her braclets. Kasey was our little butterfly and such a happy baby. There has been so much sadness in our family with the passing of Kasey because the Drs. assured her parents everything would be fine. Victoria's turned her sadness into focusing on her Charity and she helped all of us through a rough time. With all of her family and her friends beading it has given us a goal to not let another family go through this. All donations go to Kasey's Cause and Sibley Heart Center in At. Ga. where her cousin lived with my son Scott, his wife Nicole and my 5yr.old grandson Caden. Victoria is a gifted child and so generous. Last year for her Birthday(she turned 8 on Dec.26)she had all of her friends(around 30 kids)bring baby toys so she could donate them to Sibley Heart Center because they needed toys. Please think about having her on your show. I watch you everyday and see your kind heart especially toward children. I know she will be sucessful in the future with Kasey's Cause becausse she is planning for this to go on and on... Thank You, Darlene Vanek

tell duane we could go to paris hey, it's on ellen, why not?

I wasn't going to do this...as I don't think that you'll actually consider it..BUUUUT... my boyfriend of 16 years :) says I should write and invite you to Canada. Namely, "The Real BC" Bella Coola, British Columbia. We are a small community...well small in population, but large in beauty. I live in a beautiful valley. Edged by beautiful mountains and an ocean. I would show you a pic but since my computer is so old, it takes long to upload it....and I don't have high speed. Nonetheless, once you see it, you wouldn't want to leave. Nothing really to boast about but the beauty of it and once a year we have a Music Fest. Hey maybe you can perform for us. OR maybe you can get ordained and marry us. Well don't scoff yet...at least consider it. I hope that you get to read this. And I hope that it finds you well. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Ellen-
I think you would love my home town of SHEPHERDSTOWN, West (By God) Virginia. I did! I had a magical childhood there. I used to ride my pony down Main Street and tie him to a parking meter to go into the corner market. There I could buy a popcicle for a nickel or charge milk and bread to my family's account!! Boy oh boy, those were the days! The town run was around the corner-behind the little town library that still sits in the middle of the street today! Believe it or not, I would wash my pony(like washing a car)in that stream, until the mayor put a sign up!!! This small town has since grown a little. Even though the store fronts have changed through the years, my Main Street is still quaint....it still doesn't have a stop light, kids still hang out on the college wall(Shepherd University...it was a college when I went there, and the Yellow Brick Bank is now a restaurant ---not the bank where I really went to deposit money!
I hope you do come to visit my home town of Shepherdstown, West Virginia. It's tucked away among the apple orchards of the Blue Ridge Mts in WV's Eastern Panhandle; just 65 miles west of Washington, DC. Who would guess that there's still small town charm so near a metropolis!!!!!
Please come.....
Judy Wilson

Hey Ellen! I've been looking for this for a while now. And now I've found it. I think you should come visit Norman, Oklahoma! Because #1. I want you to. #2. I am saying Please. #3. It is the land of the Sooners. #4. I love you. #5. I am saying Please. #6. I heard you read everyone elses and they were lame. #7. I watch your show everyday. And if I miss it, I watch it when I have time. All your shows are tivo-ed. #8. I'm quite possibly your biggest fan. #9. This would mean the world to me! And last but not least #10. I said please.

This town is a college town! OU SOONERS! We're ranked number 6 in the college polls. We also have museums and our campus is beautiful! I know you don't know football, and there are several other things here other than football! Come see us! You know you want to! Please!

-Love your biggest fan,
Janie.

Everyone in the Elmira/Corning NY area would love to have you visit. This is an amazing place. It is drop dead gorgeous with exceptional air and water quality. But it is also the home of scads and scads of famous people. (I think it's the water.) We've produced: Hal Roach (Our Gang, Laurel and Hardy), Duane Eddy (Theme from Peter Gun, Rebel Rouser), Ernie Davis (Heiseman Trophy winner), Tom Watson (IBM), Ellery Queen, Jon McPherson (Close to Home cartoons), Tedd Arnold (Fly Guy and fifty other childrens books), Tommy Hilfiger, Brian Williams (NBC News), Eileen Collins (First woman Space Shuttle Pilot and Commander), Geoff,Brett, and Todd Bodine (Nascar), and Pilar Biggers Sanders (model, actress, and wife of Deon Sanders).
This is also where Samuel Clemens wrote most of his stories (avoiding his in-laws in the summers) and where Rudyard Kipling came to write a story about Mark Twain.
We could arrange for you to take the True Tales Tour to learn about the folks we don't usually mention in polite company.
If you visit before Christmas you could catch the "Sparkle Festival" in Corning and see why it's the the world center of glass.

Corvallis, OR is the place to visit! (I feel like breaking out in that "Green Acres" song). The only Corvallis in America, home of Oregon State University (2-time NCAA baseball world series champs), and home to Extreme Home Makeover edition's first Oregon home re-build (due to Boey Byers childhood cancer recurrence). Thanks for bringing so much cheer to everyone's lives.

Hey Ellen

Its Rachael from Australia - again. I have emailed you (hopefully it got through) regarding my 13 year old daughter and her efforts for raising money for Breast Cancer. She hosted a breakfast and raised nearly $1100 with donations still coming in. I am determined to make you notice me this time, I will keep pestering you, even trying to ring you until you talk to me!!!!

Love your show, all you do & everything you stand for.

Regards

Hey Ellen...
Think you ought to come to Wabash, Indiana.
It's the First Electrically Lighted City in the World (1880), setting on the "Banks of the Wabash River". It is rich in history and beauty and has much to offer anybody who passes through northern Indiana. As Cole Porter (who came from a neighboring town) wrote: "Can't get Indiana off my mind".

P.S. By the way,if you're looking for Wabash College....it's not here.....it's located in Crawfordsville !
