dear ellen, one of my best friends, (mary) has a great idea for an invention.she tried to get this idea pattened through the proper chanels, but the man she was dealing with on the phone at the patten office could not understand the theory as she tried and tried to get him to comprehend to no availe. her idea would save lives. children, pets, elderly, a person passing by could become a hero, save a life because they saw the joy of several kids splashing around in the backyard pool. and there are so very many of them now. i would like to tell you more but its not my idea and you should hear how she came up with it.

I haven't slept much in the last 3 days, my dog Kyra is very sick. She's been in the ER the past two nights. When we first brought her in she was vomitting, dehydrated and lethargic. She couldn't walk or stand and she barely moved at all. The initial blood work showed an extremely high white blood cell count, her glucose level was so high that the machine couldn't even record it. Her kidney and liver functions were not good at all. They started her on IV fluid, gave her insulin, pain and antibiotic injections throughout the night. By morning her fever had dropped from 103.9 to 103, she was better hydrated and her glucose level was 524 (still very high but at least it was registering a number on the machine at this point).

They continued the same course of treatment throughout the day and she started to perk up a little, lifted her head and tried to move. Her temperature was almost normal and they sorta ruled out diabetes because there were no ketones in her urine and more blood work showed other determining factors even though her glucose level lowered down to 229 she may still need insulin injections for now. She stood up on her own for a short period and urinated as well. This was very good news to us so we started to feel more positive even though the Vet said she was by no means out of the woods.

She had an ultrasound done this afternoon so we could get a clearer picture as to what was going on in the pancreas and kidneys. According to the ultrasound there is a huge mass in the pancreas, may be a cyst, growth, abscess or inflammation. There is really no way of telling as they can not put a needle into it for fear that it will burst. By this evening the labs showed that her kidney, pancreas and liver functions are getting worse, Albumin level has dropped very low so a transfusion will be necessary soon. Her kidneys are failing and she has severe pancreatitus. It is very possible that we will have to put her down tomorrow morning if they don't improve dramatically. She is suffering a great deal.

She just turned 7 and she is a wonderful, loving beautiful dog. We love her so very much. As of today her medical costs have reached $4,000 so our savings was depleted in just 2 days and she isn't improving. If she does start to improve the Vet says she will need weeks of care in a facility and as you can imagine that will cost much more than we've spent already so even if she improves slightly we more than likely can not afford the care she would need to make a recovery if that is even possible. This has been very hard on us emotionally, today being my son Jonathan's 10th birthday, we did not even celebrate it.

Please keep Kyra in your thoughts, we could really use a miracle today.

OMG-the one day I missed your show and look what happens!! I am the second biggest fan of "Days" and I missed this great show of yours! My mom called me tonight and was just going on and on and on about it! Girl, how do I see it again??? I have spent the last few hours on-line trying to find todays show to watch it. No luck! I went through my Tv guide, it's not on again. HELP!!! I love the clips on this site, but I NEED to see the rest. Please help! I got to ask you something else I wonder where you started to do comedy and which comedian's style you started out with and stayed with that choosing. One reason I'm asking you this is because I do comedy myself. The person I try pull off is Don Rickles, Johnny Carson, Dean Martin, Bill Cosby, Tim Conway, Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams. Plus I dance, sing and sometimes I choregraph the dances. Plus I go on the internet to get the lyrics and I already have all the dance moves for the dances that I set up. My friend that told me most of his dance moves and workouts His name is Mike and he does his dance moves at Ramapo Camp for kids with disabilites in Rhineback, New York. When I went there a couple of times it change my whole life I was never same. When I came back home I was neater, polite, and much happier. Now my friend Josh Lafrance and myself are trying to do a dance routine for different schools around Connecticut. My friend and I are also doing a dance at my house sometime soon. I was also wonderind if you would like to be invited because if famouse are here this will be a hit.

Rumor has it that Stephen Nichols was taping with Ellen last Thursday (10/4) and that the show was scheduled to air on Monday (10/8). As it turned out, the show has not yet aired and I can't find anything on the website regarding his appearance. Can you give me any info about this? Thanks!
