hi ellen,
I know you already have lots of messages but I just wanted to say that everyone is crossing fingers for iggy. There's a petition that's going to be sent to the shelter and everyone thinks that what they did was wrong, they could have just asked for the new owners contact if they wanted to see if everything was okay with him...

well, I hope this all gets solve quicly, 'cause people shouldn't suffer when they try to do good things

I posted here 'cause I wanted to say that it's great to hear you laugh again ;)

I am overwhelmed with Ellens story about the dog today and her honesty with the public-I have tears in my eyes and can't believe she is letting this air-how brave--someone give her a hug for me-

She is more than amazing and I have even more respect for her than before-was just there in person a week ago-the whole audience must be crying by now--love her

Hey Ellen I would have posted on doggy site but too many, I saw how your heart is. I know of someone who needs help right now, her name is Sydney and she is 10 and even though she is going down with cancer, always has a smile. Was wondering if she could be on your show, they need to be on something to get out the news of a new treatment. Pls go to sydlets.com and look at her pics and read about her. thank you BJ Cannon

Dear Ellen,

No matter what people may say for the next little bit, what we saw today is simply confirmation of what a truly kind, honest, and good natured person you are. Thanks for all you do, and keep at it girl! This matter with Iggy will have a happy ending.

Hi Ellen, You have such a true heart. I hope the puppy can go back to the loving family you placed him with.I,m not sure how anyone could have even taken the puppy away to begin with! That was cold hearted!!You are truly authentic!! Sincerely,Tempe Frank

Ellen,

As a member of the SPCA and part of a long line of members, I am outraged at what you have had to go through with the dog. The idea is to find good homes for the animals. Al our animals from the time I was a kid, through my grandchildren now, have been sprays or adopted. I have gotten them for myself and my family. As long as the dog had a good home, who cares. I hope you can settle this soon. And to the person who took the dog from you, they have now made it more difficult to find adopted parents for all the shelters, no one wants to go through what you ae.

Dear Ellen,
I wish I could find an e-mail address for MUTTS&MOMS. Afew things I'd like to say to whoever the uncaring and selfesh person in charge. They should be removed. I myself have adopted pets (one to save it from being put down, he was a golden and I did not have the yard he needed, but a month later I found him good home) I hope that this will outrage people enough that your dog and any other situiations like this will be corrected.
My best and God bless. Brian

I think you did the right thing Ellen!

Ellen, I watch you everyday and you are a real joy to watch. Today I cried with you as you told your story. Your heart was in the right place when you gave the doggie to the family with the two girls. I e mailed mutts and moms and asked that they please do the right thing and give Iggy back to the wonderful family after they do an investigation. Do their job and replace Iggy with the family. Everyone will fell so much better. Iggy needs love, the girls need to love Iggy, the organization needs to feel better about what has happened to Iggy, and you need peace in your heart and mind again over Iggy. God Bless you dear Ellen for making the world a better place with laughter and smiles. Your fan from Ohio, Jaylena :)

SO... sometimes some rules are meant to be broken.
Yes you should have read the fine print. WE ALL SHOULD... if you had you could have contacted the agency to to an assessment of this family and they could have taken the care to have done so and deemed them suitable and the transfer could have been made after. SO yes you were wrong. BUT so was the shelter agency, NO they should not trust your judgment... you are not employed by them, they should have done an immediate assessment of your hairdressers home and family and in all likelihood they would have come to the same conclusion as you did and left all as it was. DID they respond out of the presence of your fame... I think so. TO all involved. DO NOT make an example out of this event. DO NOT drag this out. Make the assessment, give the puppy back. PRETEND ELLEN is an average citizen. Recognize her plea for what it is, SHe has learned her lesson.
Some times following all the rules can leave only hurt in the wake... what benefit was there for removing this dog... without considering the consequences??? CAN ANYONE TELL ME???
I hope it all works out in the end Ellen, and I am sorry for your pain.
Kathy

Ellen, I was so saddened to hear of your plight regarding Iggy...indeed, I suppose rules have to be followed, however, there are circumstances where exceptions should be made. This is certainly one of them...you had found Iggy a GOOD home and he and the family had bonded. It was not only cruel to the children but cruel to Iggy to take him away. It sort of defeats what their goal is, "to find animals a loving home"...go figure. I hope enough hype is made about this that the organization gives Iggy back to the family you had given him to. I look forward to hearing that this has indeed happened and soon. I'm in your's and Iggy's corner... Frederique Heavrin

Now I heart fully feel for what Ellen has gone though, but to play devil's advocate for a second I think the vilification of this organization is the wrong thing to do. I suspect (as with most reputable rescue agencies) when a person wants to take a pet home they must go though a strict weeding out process to make sure that the animal is going to a good home, and that the new owners will be responsible. The rescue agency did not know this family that Ellen sent Iggy too and as such they are trying to look out for the dog. I suspect that if this family were to put in a request go though the proper channels then chances are they would get Iggy back very quickly. I know I'm going to get flamed for this post and yet… try and look at both sides of the argument. Ellen, thank you for showing us such a raw part of you, you seem to be one of the few sincere celebrities out there and I thank you for being strong enough to let us see that side of you. All the best.

Ellen ~ My heart goes out to you ~ Thanks for sharing your heartfelt story, may it have a happy ending...

Hey Ellen

Saw the clip of the drama with Iggy today and my heart breaks for both you and the family of your hairdresser. You are truly one of the good folks in this world and as far as I am concerned you were doing what you thought was best for Iggy in finding him a new and loving home. I think at the end of the day as long as he is loved and cared for that is all that should matter...It makes me wonder what kind of a rescue mission they really are these people to take Iggy from a loving environment and put him back in what sounds like an unkind and unfeeling rescue!
