30 Seconds To Air

It is a well worn show business tradition to give the lucky 3 fingers up sign just before the show. Coincidentally, this is also the ancient martial arts pose called the "Thumb Claw". As many a scratched and gouged back stagehand can attest, it's not a good idea to sneak up on Ellen when it's 30 seconds to air.

ELLEN, JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW I LOVE YOUR SHOWYOU MAKE ME LAUGH, IF IM HAVING A BAD DAY I TURN YOUR SHOW ON AND BAM, INSTANTLY HAPPY THANKS...LOVE YOU

Hey Ellen,
just wanted to say that the 'rescue' folks handled it wrong as far as I am concerned. If they were truly interested in the well being of the puppy they could have just evaluated the new family for suitability before removing the puppy.
No sense moving the puppy again if they don't have to. You have done amazing and gracious things with your celebrity status and wealth, but still, it sucks realizing that you can't save them all. Rock on.

Ellen, you are such a good person and animal lover, HELP ME.....I rescue animals all the time, strays, pitches on the side of the road pups and kittens, abused strays, etc....help me start a rescue facility here in Indy (south Indpls) where they (the city govt doesn't see a need to help stray animals.....too worried about building a football "COLTS" stadum.....which we animal people care less about...but city funds don't care about homeless animals like little people do....please help us animal lovers.....

Ellen, if someone had asked me for my dog for their little girls, I would have done the same thing. You are such a nice and giving person. So sorry you had to go through it. I've had my hardships as well. I myself have had to find good homes for dogs that we ended up not being able to keep. It's hard to do, but very rewarding to see the other persons happiness.Hope everything turns out o.k.

Dear Ellen

Its a sad thing when a person with a kind heart gets hurt when trying to do a kind thing. Mutts & Moms are not thinking right if they think its better to put that puppy back in a shelter instead of a loving home. It's pretty great that you can share your pain as well as your laughter. Thank you for being who you are.

Thanks for the laughter
Carol

Hi Ellen,

I am so glad that you are feeling better. You looked great today. Thanks for all the nice gifts. The All soap will come in handy since i have a 5mth old baby.

Your fan and crazy dancer in the green shirt. LOL

Dear Ellen,
I saw your show today regarding the dog situation with your friend. I really feel bad about your situation. I felt I should reach out because this might be mutually beneficial. I have Champion Line American Bulldog puppies that are 8 weeks old and I have had some difficulty placing them all in good homes. I would like to offer one of them to you, free of charge to present to your friend and her family. I know that it will not be the same, but these are simply wonderful puppies and I am sure it would help fill the void. I am selling them for over $1000, but I am not letting every interested party purchase because I have not liked their living situations. They are vaccinated, pure bred American Bulldogs. They have 8+ generation pedigrees and are not from a "puppy mill". My American Bulldogs are the parents and this is their first and only litter. I have 7 left of a litter of 12, with both males and females available. You have probably gotten e-mails from 10,000 different rescues offering to help, but I figured I would extend this to you anyway. I have two children I know what devastation it would cause them to loose their pet. These puppies make anyone who sees them melt. You fall in love with then the minute you lay eyes on them. You have my info. Good luck and I hope that you are feeling better. You are not the cause of this. You did what you believed to be in the best interest of the pet. I too, would have rather see the dog go to a good home than back to the shelter...rescue?

Ellen...this too shall pass. Chin up, and just keep doing your best. To all the creepy people writing negative stuff, watch out for that KARMA stuff it'll bit ya in the bum.
Yay for Ellen, you rock!

Ellen, I just have this to say to you. Never let the Bastards get you down. You are a wonderful person who tried to do something nice for two children. You didn't do anything wrong by giving the dog to those children. You're a celebrity and a lot of people love to knock you down. I'm sure those kids will understand. Your tops in my book and I will continue to watch and cheer for you always. Cathy

Please stop judging Ellen!!!!!! You heard her, she spent the time and money on Iggy, she DID NOT lie when she could have!! How about the people that "rescue" a dog and then sell it or worse, abuse it, or "drop" it off somewhere!!!!??? If you said you have NEVER made a mistake meaning well, you'd be the one lying! Leave her ALONE!!! She has a heart of pure gold! I refuse to judge you, I'm only asking for kindness for a beautiful person and soul. Leave the judging up to a higher power, lest you be judged yourself!!!
Keep up the good work Ellen, my family of six all adore you. Thank you for all that you do.
Sincerely, Linda

Dear Ellen,

I was very moved by your heart felt plea to give the dog back to that family. I have always thought that you are just the greatest! I hope that it all works out for the best for you, your friends & the puppy. I hope that you know that the fans that you have truely love you just because you are you & we love you for your conviction & principles. When I tune in everyday to watch your show it is a great hour for me so I would hope that everyone is kind enough to let you have one day like today & understand that you trusted us enough to vent to us. I will keep you in my prayers & hope for the best outcome possible. Keep your chin up!!
Love Ya Lots in Texas!!!!! KAKAKAKAKAKA!!!
Tammy

I happened to turn on the TV and see you in tears about to announce something. So, I was curious to hear what the tragedy was. God forbid, the way you were acting I thought you were about to say a dear loved one died of cancer or a relative soldier got their legs blown off in Iraq. But no, all this over a dog that has to go to a different home. Wow. In the big scheme of things, talk about an over-reaction! So typically "celebrity".

This is the third dog that you have changed your mind about and given back or away to someone else since your talk show has been on the air. I think it was the first season and you brought a small dog on the show that you say you had "rescued", you later gave it away, saying it did not get along with your cats. Another one you changed your mind about was a Yorkie poo. You brought it on the show, gave it back, you later got the puppy again and then gave it away. You talk about what an animal lover you are but I don't think you give any thought to how these pets must feel at being uprooted over and over again. You mention the little girls feelings, but not once did I hear you express any concern for the little dog. I was a huge fan, but I am so disappointed in you.

Dear Ellen,
I watched your show today and was in tears as well. You gave that dog a lot of love and you made sure that it wasn't just going to anyone but to a family full of love. It isn't everyday an animal can get that kind of love. Being someone who rescued 6 cats of her own and now hold them dear and precious I know how you feel. I hope that everything works out and you can get that puppy back to your loving friend's family.

Love
Vanessa

Who do there people think they are??
I think they should have left the dog with the new family as long as all was fine!! Ellen did what the rescue group was doing, finding a good home. I think the rescue groups are after the money!! Or donation, as they call it or adoption fee. I bet they don't refund her money!!!! But they should, it did not work out and they need to give her the money back!!! How sick they are for taking the dog from kids! I wonder who will pay the next adoption fee on the dog? I think Ellen did the right thing---getting the dog a good home, the rescue group should be thanking her!!

This is the same comment i left on the Iggy post...just wanted to put it here too so that you see it.

Wow Ellen. There are 159 pages of comments here so far...but i really hope you get to see mine, because it's important to me that you see it. I have a lot to say, and I hope I don't bore you. You're my favorite celebrity, and seeing you cry, of all people, was the most heartbreaking thing. I guess that's how you know you care about someone, and even though I've never met you, and you've never met me (or probably the other 159 pages of people who commented who care)...I really do care about you. You have made my life better, and I mean that. I even have an alarm time set on my phone entitled "Ellen"...for your show. I wake up for you, Ellen. That's how awesome you are. You start my day. And that doesn't matter if your being funny or if your having a breakdown. I like seeing YOU. Because I care about you and I love you. Ive written this before...I believe...TRULY BELIEVE that you have saved lives, just by being you, and bringing that true honest joy into people's lives. Giving them something to wake up for...to start their day for. I went to a cancer center recently...(I'm a massage therapist, and we were doing chair massage on the staff), and in the waiting room they had your show playing, and I just thought to myself, "Wow...these people know what will bring a smile to the patients' faces." Also, when I saw this part of the show today, I started thinking about the other celebrities out there, and about myself. You hear things all the time...about celebrities...role models...doing horrible things...you know what I'm talking about. and they deny it..or they apologize for it..but none of them shed a tear. And here you are...wonderfully fabulous Ellen....and you're bawling..about this heartbreaking story...that your fans ...real people...really would understand. I'm an animal lover too..and if I had been in your situation I would have been crying my eyes out as well. but the thing is you never see celebrities cry like that...show compassion like that. I just think it's so beautiful...and says so much about you...that you would allow something like that to get you upset ...and to show how you're feeling on live TV. I mean afterall...the show is Ellen..and we watch it to see you...no matter what state you're in..we love you. And even though I know that OBVIOUSLY this wasn't your intention...but I feel like after today's show my love and respect for you has skyrocketed...you are so caring Ellen. So REAL. You give your fans someone to not only look up to as a role model...and not only someone who will brighten their days...but someone who will be real and show them that it's okay to feel the way you do...that "I am just like you, and things upset me too...I'm human." You give us someone to relate to, and I just want to tell you all of that...and be able to give the years of love, happiness, and joy that you have given me...back to you ("take it all back and put it in your pocket....kakakakaaaaa!") You are a beautiful person, Ellen....it's not your fault...mistakes happen. It's wrong of them to not let that family keep their pet..and I hope that your courage today persuades them to let them keep him. But thankyou for caring Ellen. You are beautiful on the inside and on the out. You are God's gift to this world. I believe that, and I will forever live believing that. Thankyou Ellen...for restoring humanity in this black and white world.
Yours always,
Nicole

Dear Ellen,
I watch your show everyday, it's so refreshing to have someone with your humour, kindness and compassion to watch on TV.
I watched your show today, October 16th, and was absolutely moved to tears with you about the puppy. Ellen, the kindness and compassion and the goodwill that you give out to people will come right back to you. You thought you were doing a good thing, and you did!! It was just an unfortunate misunderstanding that could happen to any one of us. The care that you expressed on your show was so deep and heartfelt was far, far more than a lot of people would even take the time to talk about what happened. That there show
what a kind person you are, you will recieve kindness back to you on this sad situation, and
everything you expressed was so positively from your heart and true, that I believe all the good you have given out will come right back to you.
You get back what you give out, and I saw a very
giving human being today. At the end of your show, when you apologized for your show, and hoped that no one was dissapointed made all your
viewers like you even more. I know it made me feel that way. It could have been easy for someone to go with their workday and dismiss what happened, but for you to take the time to say what you said, showed just how important people are to you! We need more people like you in this world Ellen, it would be a better place.

Welcome Home to Normality Ellen,
It seems as though, things may have been quite "stirred- up" lately....
Good for you for starting up another topic to respond to....
People obviously got out of hand, with the recent posts towards "eachother", over something that was so dear to you...
It saddens me that it drove "your very fans" and "none fans", to say such horrible things to each other!!!!

I hope that in the heinsight of the aftermath, that those who acted the way they did, realized they were acting that way over, a simple misunderstanding, over information that was overlooked by "you"....while in all good intentions...turned into a tragic situation...especially, at your expense, TO SAY THE LEAST!

It is understood, by most "posters", that a simple review of the (new) family, of which you gave the pup to, should have been in order, to see if, in fact they are suitable for the puppy, and then act accordingly...Whether to reward the animal, or not...to them...

After watching this whole thing unfold today, I am "ironically" finding myself in the position as those lovely little girls are being put in....As another person; (a friend of the family), currently has his name on our new puppy of 5 mos. that he resold to us after learning that he couldn't take proper care of her, and was somehow notified that we were trying to buy her..the day before. He quickly called and offered to transfer ownership to my daughter, with much saddness, that he realized the pup was so dissappointedly missed by my girls, and wanted to make a wrong, a right...He quickly realized what he had to do...as you did in your case, and reward the animal to a home well deserved!!!!
I don't know how much energy I have left to put towards the other posters, and defending what I stand for as far as their feelings....But I'll Be G-da** if anyone comes gunning for our lil' pup!!!! And I know you'll keep your position, A.F.A. what's right, and the fact that people who do wrong to others'....actually have to wake up in the morning....and have to decide what they see in the morning when looking in the mirror...quit a big wake up call, especially when they're the only one's in the room!!!!!

I know this was a trying day for you and everyone involved, but what a lesson to be learned.....
Thanks for listening!!!!
