30 Seconds To Air

It is a well worn show business tradition to give the lucky 3 fingers up sign just before the show. Coincidentally, this is also the ancient martial arts pose called the "Thumb Claw". As many a scratched and gouged back stagehand can attest, it's not a good idea to sneak up on Ellen when it's 30 seconds to air.

I understand "I wish people would show this much compassion for children......" but you know, the people who care like this ALSO care about children as well.

We HAVE A RIGHT to CARE about more than just one issue in our lives and one screaming need, communities need to care about all the issues and not be so narrow minded.

We don't get better as a people if we don't clean up our actions; we are our brother's keeper, the four footed kind as well.

Ellen,

I am a volunteer for a Beagle Rescue in New England and we too have that same policy and we do have our adoptors sign a contract saying that for whatever reason they can not keep the dog it has to come back to us. That does protect the dog so that it does not end up in the wrong hands or in a kill shelter.

I would have your hairdresser apply for Iggy through Mutts and Moms and go through the adoption process as you did. They can then adopt him legally and no one will be able to take the dog away. Hope this helps.

To the poster who indicated Ellen was wrong and using her fame to get her way...

I pitty your very bitter and calloused heart, apparently you have never picked-up the pieces after a dog is "dumped" because they don't fit in the family's plan anymore with no more regard than a disposable paper cup.

Apparently you aren't aware of the endless lists X's thousands of these little kids waiting to hear the footsteps to their cage door and the lock open with a family waiting with hearts and arms open; to some, the footsteps never come.

It's real easy to say hateful remarks (God knows there are enough to chose from) when you don't have direct contact with the hearts of those who lost; this world is full of poison and hatefulness without contributions in trying to quill the light from a very real, very loving woman who isn't afraid to be completely honest by talking from her heart to right a wrong.

How many do you know that have the courage in any walk of life, let alone with all eyes of the world on her, to share what happened and apologize, she could've let it go with a "so what" attitude.

It appears Ellen may have been casting pearls before swine.

Obay the law linda , really ? it was a slight mistake , people re home pets all the time only this was done publicly and im sure she doesnt think shes above anyone she made a mistake as we all do im sure if any one of you pout youselves in her posision yas would have different views

the shelter braught it on them selves this didnt even have to be public they should of asked them to bring the dog back them selves instead of going in with the cops and whatever , the medias causing the riot NOT Ellen or even the agency

I think what you are doing is cruel. YOU created the situation, not the shelter when YOU breached the contract. YOU caused all the heartache, not the shelter.
Now you use your celebrity to ruin the shelter's reputation. Why, because YOU can't have YOUR way?
I hope the shelter has a good law suit against you and wins.
You are no better than the rest of us that have to obey the law.

Precious Ellen, Forgive the ignorance of those who broke your heart and that of the family with the little dog that you brought together. I wrote this to that organization and I hope everyone considers writing to them as well to express their thoughts to: pawboutique@yahoo.com

My husband and I are "owned" and we adore our family of basset hounds. We have had the privilege of assisting in the rescue, placement and in supporting veterinary care for several rescue groups, not just for our beloved basset hound breed.

I saw the news tonight where Ellen DeGeneres shares here sincere apology for her misunderstanding in finding an alternate loving home for a dog she adopted from your organization. It sounds to be that this family with children have quickly learned to love and adore this little family member and now the dog has been taken from them.

I would encourage you to rethink your actions on this, and perhaps offer your own apology for acting in haste to rip this dog from a "forever family" that loved it and we all know how hard it is to find a sincere, loving, good home for these little kids. It is cruel and shortsighted to rip it from the arms of a family that answered the call of its heart.

I strongly suggest you address this immediately, because I will make every effort to contact every rescue organization across the United States regarding this heinous and heartless crime that you have perpetrated on both the dog, this family and Ellen DeGeneres. In short, you had no right and if you don't correct it, I will be part of seeing that you are shut down, because you are playing God and there are millions of eyes watching how this is addressed.

Sincerely,
Barb Turpel

Chin up Ellen. You do great things for lots of people. Thank's for being a great person always with a smile on your heart.

Hi Ellen......I think you are right....the dog should have been able to stay with the little girls who loved him...That is wrong to take him away from a loving home.....Isn't that what the shelter is looking for......???....It does not make sense......Don't give up on this Ellen...You are wonderful!!!......Thanks for being you, and for worrying so much about our worlds beautiful creatures.....If we don't take care of them who will???.....Thanks...

Mary

Ellen, first you look marvelous and we love you...
Everywhere I look on this site people are talking about Iggy! He is everywhere. But I am here to tell you that you look good today.
BUT
To Debbie: Love isn't exclusive, I love my dogs. I love my children. Rescuing dogs doesn't meant you can't try saving children too. And remember, many children adopted by LGBT people were abandoned, don't preach to the choir.

Looking good Ellen !!

I wish people would show this much compassion to the countless children that are abuse everyday in this country

Well Ellen, the same thing happened to me. The agency returned most of my money. It is sad that an agency has ?xopolhgd for brains.

HANG IN THERE BABY.

GEORGE

Ellen, you were really hurt by that puppy thing. It touched a nervethat really hurt you. Sorry chick sorry. Me and my girl friend saw it this morning on the news.It just shows you have a heart. Thepoor puppy and kids. We have two big dogs who love cats. My black Lab Luckydog (f) and my blondie (Golden)we think. My Luckydog and Blondie boo boo head as we like to call her love cats. We hardly ever leave our house because our girlz are 12 and 13and we won't leave them alone. We would love to come to your show but we are way the hell in Chttanooga, Tn. Even if we got tickets we would never leave our girlz alone. They are sooooooooooooooooooooo sweet. Don't worry thet jerks will give the dog back. Hang in there girl we all here and see and respond to you. Love ya Susan, Tonja Ps. Lucky and blondie say woof woof

HI ELLEN!!! I HAVE SOME WONDERFUL PICTURES THAT WILL PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE JUST GOTTA FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET THEM TO YOU!

I listen to a friend that runs a children's home and hear such horror stories about children that are sent back to abusive homes by children's services. And to see this over-reaction by an animal rescue agency is so senseless and stupid. This is a case where 2 wrongs don't make a right. My heart goes out to you and the two girls.

Hopefully, rational heads will soon prevail.

I was so sad and sorry to see what happened....I just can't understand why they took that little dog away from a loving home. There is something wrong with those people.

Ellen,
I do believe what you have done to take care of your Iggy goes above and beyond what was and sounds like required.
Your raw human emotions on the air... well, that was just awsome... its good to see that you are 'real' and you don't just 'play happy' all the time! Its nice to know that 'real' is still in televison these days.
I and others I know about are praying for you, your family and your hair dresser and especially those little ladies.
Keep your chin up, stay true to your heart, especially in this matter!
I think the lady from the ma&paws business is only looking for her little 15 min. of fame... my prayer is that she will have a change of heart and do the right thing..!
Don't give up hope Ellen... you hang in there!
Angie.

Hi Ellen

First of all, I love you. You always make my day. Yesterdays show saddened me as well as others to see what happened to that dog and those little girls who want so much to give this dog a good home. Watching Good Morning America this morning I saw the segment with the facility owner and although I don't wish bad things to happen to her, I think she's making a big mistake in not listening to your plea to give the dog back. You only did what most of us would do when we can't keep something we love.We find the next best thing. Who is this woman to say that Iggy wasn't given to a good home. This family seems very loving not giving a dog to families with kids younger than fourteen, come on that's bull. I don't wish any harm to come to the owner of the facility, but she needs to make some changes in her policies. Keep up the fight and know that you have millions of people (and I do mean millions) backing you on this. LOVE YOU ELLEN!
