30 Seconds To Air

It is a well worn show business tradition to give the lucky 3 fingers up sign just before the show. Coincidentally, this is also the ancient martial arts pose called the "Thumb Claw". As many a scratched and gouged back stagehand can attest, it's not a good idea to sneak up on Ellen when it's 30 seconds to air.

I CANNOT STAND WHEN BECAUSE A PERSON LOVES ANIMALS THEY ARE TOLD ABOUT WAR, RAPE OF CHILDREN, ETC. JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE SUCH A SOFT HEART FOR ANIMALS DOES NOT MEAN YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PROBLEMS OF HUMAN BEINGS. THOSE PEOPLE ARE PROBABLY ANIMAL HATERS.
SINCE IGGY WAS HAPPY WITH THAT FAMILY, THE ORGANIZATION SHOULD HAVE ALLOWED SOME SLACK. NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE ELLEN, BECAUSE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FINDING LOVING HOMES FOR PETS. THIS WAS CRUEL OF THEM TO TAKE IGGY AWAY FROM THOSE GIRLS. SHAME ON THEM.

Ellen,
Good for you for taking a break!!!! Meanwhile, could you please take that time to learn and understand that aspects of, not only adoption of an animal, but what it really takes to be a pet owner, especially in the very beginning: "as a pet seeker"...? What everyone really keeds to concentrate on, once the decision is made to include another member into the family....that it is if everyone is preparing for a new infant....LITERALLY!!!!

There are sooooo many surprises, after obtaining a pet, that by the time we're fed up with them, we've gooten attached to them....
What are people supposed to do at that point...?
I've had the opportuntiy to stay home with my daughters' new puppy because I have not yet started my buisness, in "Property Management", (now in the works), paper add.+ just submitted...

Timing was perfect, when my older daughter (12) decided to purchase herself a puppy, because she knew I had the time to train it..(CHLOE 4.5 mos. old) It was 10 time's easier to put together a buisness, that I plan on pulling together, in the next 3 mos., than it was to train, care for, and socialize, and care for a dog in training....

You literally have to have, ALLL of your free time, to raise a qualified, and loveable, smart pet...and not everyone is in that position to do so...Fortunately for me, I have.....

And out of it, we have the best lil' DOG in the world!!!

One might wonder when I might get a "life"...For me, it was the day I decided to give the BEST of life, of one, to the 2 children....actually 3... that I have right now....

Wanna see what I am talkin' about?
Check out my new "baby" CHLOE at "most talented pets" At "The Naked Pup Show"................ and keep in mind....I told you so....

HEY ELLEN I UNDERSTAND YOUR FEELINGS AND APPRECIATE YOU FOR BEING SO REAL. THE PASSION YOU HAVE IS GREAT AND MAYBE YOU CAN CHANNEL THAT PSSION OVER TO WORLD HUNGER OR KIDS THAT ARE BEING RAPED...IGGY IS IN A SAFE PLACE I'M SURE AND THE FACT THAT YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW PROPER PROCEDURE YOU NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR. THEY CANNOT MAKE AN EXCEPTON IN YOUR CASE JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE. THE AVERAGE JOE WOULD HAVE TO SUFFER THE SAME CONSEQUENCES THAT YOU DO. GOD HAS A PLAN AND IT WILL WORK OUT IN THE END. GOD BLESS-I LOVE YOU-

Nice pic.. I think I can understand what she is saying here.

"I have 2 cats and I told the adopted shelter dog to take a hike!"

Did I get it right?

Ellen, I just wanted to say how sorry I am about this whole ordeal. It broke my heart when you told that story. I cried with you, as soon as you started crying. I'm also a huge animal lover. I have 2 dogs and a cat in the house, and 2 cats outside. It also broke my heart to see you that upset. I love your show, and you shouldn't be sorry about crying and telling everyone what is going on. That's the reason your real fans love you so much. You're real. I tell my mom everyday what you did and said on the show, and all the generous things you do. You are the most generous person I've ever seen in my life. I really hope everything works out with Iggy. Everything I've read about the situation shows how heartless that organization is. They're acting like you did this on purpose or something. It's just ridiculous. They are being the bully in the situation, not you. Good luck!

end entry

Ellen,

As a previous commentator said, don't let them bully you, Ellen, after all you've got the big bucks to have your law firm threaten the small local adoption service with a lawsuit if they dare to question your judgment! Yep, you are not to be messed with, that's for sure.

And so what if the family you gave the puppy to couldn't be bothered to go fill out an application when the pet adoption service asked them to. Geez, they shouldn't be inconvenienced after all, should they? If they find that inconvenient can they really be a suitable family for a puppy?

Get a life. Kids are being raped and killed, nations are starving and we have men in harms way in a war.

Ellen,

I have to say that I truly admired your ability to really pour out your heart on national TV. I think that many others can learn much from that. You are what actors and actresses should aspire to be......real people more often.

Hi Ellen!
I've been a fan for YEARS I love your talk show its fantastic!
I was sad to hear about the battle with Iggy the puppy. I know what its like to deal with people like that. I bought a doberman from a breeder and the dog ended up sick, instead of helping us the breeder told us to put our dog down and she'd give us a new one because "its just a dog" he's not just a "dog" he's my baby and anybody who doesn't understand how people see their pets as "children" alot of the time, have no sympathy and no compassion. You are in the right because all you wanted to do is give the pup a good home! Bravo for standing up for Iggy!

If Iggy is in good health, well feed & loved whats the problem? Give him back to the family that loves him. Every loving kid needs a dog & every dog needs a loving kid.
I have a greman shepherd mix who will be 14 on Halloween. Please wish him a happy birthday.
Hope to hear good news about Iggy on your show today.

ELLEN.......You ROCK! These people that say "it's only a dog"? What the heck! NO COMPASSION! I can only hope they don't have pets! It is people like this, that cause pet adoption agencies to have the rules that they do! I wouldn't turn over a fly to people with this kind of attitude! If they think "it is only a dog".....well then......they are only worthless (non human with no compassion for animals) and should be up for adoption.......with "THE WE DON'T CARE WHO YOU END UP WITH ADOPTION AGENCY"! Maybe they would think twice! Let the adoption agency pick their spouse or children for them......AND GEEZ.....sorry if you don't like it....but you're stuck with it! You people who have this attitude......don't bother with your opinion....because it is TOTALLY WORTHLESS! Ellen ROCKS! She always has and always will! Shut your mouth, because you obviously don't know what the words LOVING, CARING, and COMPASSIONATE mean! Leave Ellen alone! She did what she felt was right, and it was an excellent choice on her part. Hope to see these uncaring people at an adoption agency.....but let that adoption agency pick who they take home....! SEE HOW you like it then! Ellen is an excellent judge character, or she would have never gotten the dog in the first place! She was only trying to keep the dog from being tossed around from home to adoption agency to home to adoption agency, which is totally unstable for the dog as well as the families that try to adopt. She was looking out for the best interest of her current pets, as well as the dog she adopted. It is like a marriage,.....do you want to stay in a home where you don't get along with your spouse...? If you do......THEN DON'T TRY TO ADOPT A PET, because if you do.......it won't work.....Ellen saw that is was not going to work out...and she acted appropriately. She did it for the best interest of the pets involved.....which is much smarter than some people! Ellen is the best talk show host on the air today and she always will be! If you don't have anything good to say about her......then...please....keep your "WE DON'T care what you think" opinions to yourself!
HAVE A GREAT DAY ELLEN!!! YOU ROCK!

Dear Ellen,,,

I am very much an animal lover...and would never tolerate anyone abusing and animal. When I saw your show on the 16th of October, it brought me to tears! I cannot believe that any human being that was an animal lover would object to giving a pet a wonderful home. You did attempt to keep the dog that you adopted, and sometimes things don't work out. It is not like you turned the dog over to a bad home or that the dog would result in an abusive situation. Anyone that watches your show, and knows your compassion for life and your animals, would surely see that you are a great judge of character.

I feel that you did the right thing. You didn't want to see your animals that are currently in your home to be stressed out, or would you ever let the dog that you brought into your home to be stressed out. It was just not a good situation for the pets, and you acted in their best interest. If they could talk, they would have reacted and taken action, just as you did. My heart goes out to you and the family that you attempted to turn the dog over to. It is really heart breaking. It is a shame that a contract had to be signed in the first place, however, I see the adoption agencies point in placing the animal to a good home. So many animals are put to rest needlessly due to improper care and careless owners. You however, are not one of those people. You are truly a pet lover, and tried to rescue an animal from a bad situation in the beginning, and therefore tried to help the dog from being placed in the hands of another bad situation. YOU are an excellent judge of character in my opinion, and the adoption agency that you rescued the dog from in my opinion was seriously out of line. SO WHAT ABOUT their clause! They would have never let you adopt the animal if they felt that you weren't fit, and YOU would have never put that animal in harms way WHAT SO EVER!

You have a great heart, and it is a shame that the adoption agency went and took this little animal away from a loving home as you tried your best to provide, and it didn't work out with your current pets. Things happen......and you IN MY OPINION did what any animal lover would do! I would do everything I could to place a pet in the best environment possible. The adoption agency in my opinion was very wrong, and I can only hope that the whole world can see what a serious mistake they made by taking this pet from a loving family!

I feel for you as well as the family, and can only hope that after all of the media attention this has caused, they would return the dog to that loving family. It is hard on the dog to be tossed from one home to another, and if the adoption agency were SMART, they could have ran their background check on the people that you chose to take the dog in. It is very wrong and unstable for the pet, and anyone with any compassion would have done anything in their power to see to it that the animal had a good, loving home.

You did the right thing in my opinion, because you are an excellent judge of character and that should have been taken into consideration. The adoption agency, I don't care who they are, will not gain any credibility after what they have done. If I were to adopt, it is sad to say, I would not consider this agency, as they don't have the compassion and love for the animals that you do, because YOU have the heart, and compassion it takes to care for the dog. They should have gone to the home where you placed the dog, and did a little bit of research before they yanked the dog from the home! That adoption agency stinks in my opinion! You ROCK and SO DOES YOUR OPINION! Your are awesome! If they can't trust you, THEY shouldn't trust anyone!

Love to you and the dog,
Sincerely,
Kim

I just wonder how much money this "resuce" place got for Iggy the second time around. I'd be willing to bet that they SOLD that dog for a much higher price (after Ellen had already paid for it to begin with) since it was in the middle of the "Ellen Controversy"!

People amaze me. We have men dying minute by minute in Iraq, children starving as we speak and they are more concerned with taking a dog away from a loving family with two little girls to make more money...

I'd also be willing to bet, after all of this hype, Mutts and Mom's will be out of business! As well they should be.

Keep up the good work Ellen. It will work out!
