One of the most important rules to hosting a talk show is to make sure that your shoes are tied. It is equally important that the host's shoes are on the right feet. Here Ellen once again demonstrates the professionalism that has inspired legions of fans.

Just wanted to say how much my family loves to watch Ellen and will continue to do so. People, famous or not, makes mistakes. It is a shame people will judge you for your mistakes and let things get out of hand. Stay Strong Ellen.

Ellen, You are doing what you can. Our family had a similar experience. We are from New Orleans. We evacuated our golden retriever to Baton Rouge. We had a family member missing. Thanks to Angel's Network a pilot volunteered his time and money and flew us from Tampa back home. We didn't find my dad. Our home floated away. My son who is very high functioning but has autism disorder. We were worried about him as his father passed away very suddenly. I found a theraputic riding center and he began riding. He would only ride this one horse. We went three to four times a week even though it was 100 miles round trip. He fell in love with this horse. The owner of the center promised to give him the horse for his 15th B-day. His birthday is October 11.He was weeks away from getting his horse Flash. Katrina hit August 29,2005. I risked my life trying to get to the center which was destroyed to look for Flash Tommy's best friend. No one would tell me anything. After I returned to Florida I had to tell my son I couldn't find his horse. We had heard some of the horses died but no details. Eventually we were told that Flash made it to high ground on a levee. A woman took him, knowing we were building a barn and bought land so we could get his horse. This woman knew how my son felt about this horse and now has him boarded somewhere. She is unable to ride due to medical problems. I cannot tell you what animals can do for children. We have not given up. We have a stall waiting for Flash. Maybe this woman will read this and do the right thing. I would like to thank LSU for lovingly caring for our dog Jake. What an overwhelming feeling of joy when we picked him up. Coming home to Florida with our precious dog was truly a blessing. I sure hope and pray for the return of Iggy. My son is praying for those girls. Let's hope the right thing is done

Okay so how do you tye your shoes? One loop or two?

Nice plug there, anthony. you really have "your daughters" interest at heart...or is that you pocket book....?

As for Ellen, I think it says a lot about her that she can show her true emotions for everyone, and just not care what the world thinks about her tears.

People! Can we please just move on from the puppy debacle PLEASE?! Let's have some happy posts for a change huh?

I am so amazed that the tears over a dog can cause so much controversy. I have emailed the show a number of times about my child, my daughter. Never to receive a response, possibly because I am male, not female. It hurts so much to see tears over a dog when I am not supposed to be angry that my child was taken completely out of my life. Ellen you dissapoint me, not for crying over a dog but for totally ignoring all my emails about my daughter. I have cryed almost every night, for over six years, so to see this hurts. I will never watch the show again. I am happy that my book "A Father's Right" @ Barnes&Noble.com will be around to explain to my daughter just how much I loved her. If I should get hit by a truck, my book will explain to her all the lies told to her and explain all the people that have ignored the tears of parents. Real reasons to cry!!!

HEEEEEEY LAURA please stop you know all of us fans dont want to read about the crud you are writing soo please stop. Its not about you its about u its about the ELLEN SHOW
please stop all the bickering
lisa

Give it up. I love Ellen too but she did something wrong now a couple of children are paying for it.
Rules are rules and if Mutts & Moms has this rule and Ellen knew about it, they have every right to take the dog back.
I'm sorry but face it, the girl did something wrong, how many of us haven't at some time.

Ellen - I am so sorry for you and for those children. This rescue agency is absurd and high-handed. Thousands, tens of thousands of pets are killed every year because good homes could not be found. A good home is a blessing to a pet, not a threat. And I'm not going for the 14 and under child thing. children grow up with pets and adore them. Maybe 4 and under. But a 5 year old is old enough to understand how to treat a pet. The owners of the rescue operation are into power - and are probably thrilled that they upset someone as famous as you. It'll give them bragging rights for years about how they stood up to fame and fortune. They just forgot about the dog, the children and have a whole where their hearts should be.

Pathetic truly... 20,000 people a day die because they are too poor to stay alive and you are telling us a sob story about you breaking a rule and two kids losing a puppy. What would you do for a child who lost his mother to starvation? There is a long cue for that one...better get busy.

Ellen,
What you did was real pathetic. You should've handled this situation better and followed the rules. It is a sad situation but you were the one that violated the rule here and you should take the responsibility. Coming out on your show and crying is only going to get you sympathy points and blame the agency. There are reasons why these agencies set up rules and just because you're famous and can move your watcher's hearts by crying in television should not give you the privilege to get away with your mistsake. Honestly, when you came on the show crying & bawling, I thought you were going to say someone in your family passed away or you were diagnosed with some kind of serious illness. There are so many other serious issues going on this country and the world that you could be crying and talking about. You are guilty of this mistake and you're just looking for ways to blame someone else for your mistake! I hope you're happy!

I have encountered this same issue with rescue agencies in my area before, and I think it is absolutely ridiculous that they will not adopt a small breed dog to a home with children under the age of 14. First, all children are different. I have a 9 yr old who is extremely gentle and would be great with a small dog. Second, I think 11 and 12 yr olds are old enough to know how to treat a small dog, especially if they live in a home with parents who are responsible pet owners. With all the homeless animals in the world, these places are just making it harder to find them good homes. The agency could have made an effort to evaluate the environment in which the dog was placed by Ellen and determine if it was a safe and loving home.

Likely to trip on my own w/out tying my shoes !! Call me a plain klutz!!

Hi, I just wanted to say I disagree with this whole age thing. What is age but a number? I realize that some small dogs are very territorial with their owners but this dogs seems to not be that way. Why take the dog from someone who is taking good care of it? I understand she broke a contract with them which I think is stupid to have to do that. It should say that if abuse or neglect is found then they can come and confiscate the dog. I don't see how signing for a dog doesn't give you the right to give it away. I understand they are trying to protect the dog but taking it the way they did was not the right way to go about it. Whether that is the way it works or not. It's not morally right.

According to a statement made by a lawyer "speaking for them" (he is not hired by them, just authorized to speak out for them), they WILL NOT be giving the dog back because it is against their policy to allow their animals to go to homes with children younger than 14....
Just thought I'd share.

The adoption agency would never have homes for unwanted pets if they do not adopt out to homes with children under the age of 14 years old. Its no wonder many animals are put to death. If the family had a fenced yard and respondsilable family then the dog should be with the family.

Who is really trying to get the publicity here? Just give back Iggy and I would guess that drama will go away.

Ellen, My heart goes out to you and your family, and the family that 'Iggy' was a brief part of.

Don't cry anymore; now use your voice' people are listening and sensitive to this issue. Hopefully others will decline from this place of business and they can be fed to the 'dogs'!!!

Love and Hope
