30 Seconds To Air

Even with the immense weight of the responsibility of hosting her own television show bearing down on her shoulders, with 30 seconds to go before show time, Ellen still has the "can do" spirit that drives her to hold up the set while the carpenters nail it in place.

Hi Ellen Amanda here watching you from Brisbane Australia, on Arena TV I love your show so much and loved it today when you visisted a maternity ward and made so many new mums so happy. I adore you and love your show.

Amanda down-under x

Ellen made a clerical error, nothing more. It could have been handled differently. They could have checked out the family and updated the paperwork. What they did instead was unforgivable - grabbing that dear little dog from its home and those girls. Is this the act of people who love animals? I don't think so.

You look beautiful

Dear Ellen;
I am an AVID die hard fan and have watched you since the beginning of your career and rarely miss your show. You have brought so much fun, happiness and joy to millions of people everyday THANK GOD!! Thank You so much for taking the time to do so.
To see you so emotionally distraught by what has transpired with your dog situation made me as well cry with you and for the family.
SO what gives this group of so called "dog whisperer's" the right to take a beloved PAID for pet from a family who obviousley wanted and loved and had bonded with the dog? I heard you say "the fine print". So, if you hadn't adopted the little guy and no one else had what would of happened to it?
I have a story to share of what did happen to a dog of mine. I HAD to get rid of a beloved cocker spaniel years ago due to apartments not allowing pets. I had NO choice other than take her to the Humane Society in the end, I ask and was told that they would keep her for 2 weeks and if not adopted she would be euthinized. Still a very sad choice. The VERY next day my older Son went to get her after finding a home for her....she had been KILLED hours after I had dropped her off that very day by the organization. Hmmm? and YOU being the kind and loving compassionate person you are finding a home and the love much needed for both the dog and the little girls were wrong? I beg to differ. Bad enough for them to go in and take the dog away? I'm sorry, what should you have done? Take it back and "let the organization" take "care of it" as the one did when I did what I had to do?
I am so sorry for you, your pain and sadness and the family that has had they're new found love and joy ripped from them. WRONG WRONG & VERY WRONG!!

Listen, I know you are all fans of Ellen, but that doesn't mean she can do no wrong. She signed a contract that said she would not give the dog away. And no one, not even a celebrity, is above the law. And that's what she did, she broke the law by breaking a contract.
Ellen caused all this pain to this family by doing something she agreed in advance not to do. These shelters take their responsiblity very seriously. This dog was in their charge and unlike most people they have pledged to care for this animal for the rest of it's life. That's huge! They tell adopters that if the pet does not work out as part of their family the shelter will take the animal back and find it a new home. No simple task. They research and inspect to make sure that an animal that has most likely suffered abuse will be have a safe, secure life.
Shame on you Ellen Degeneres for the stress you have caused this family and this dog!

Ellen I can never seem to express myself to you but you have so many people on your side. I will meet you some day, I just know it! Thank you for changing the world!

Ellen
I am so sorry for what happened to you and the family who took this puppy in and gave it a safe and loving home environment, which is what we want all our pets to have . Have they not been to an animal shelter lately and seen all the puppies and kittens that are waiting for a home !! I was so moved at how TRUE you were and showing your heart on your sleeve and the emotions that come with being such a kind giving person that you are -- We need more celebrities like you -- Who are real!! I love your show , and love that you are who you are -- Keep Dancing and continue to do the great things you do for all of us !!! Amy Smith, Columbus ,GA

Dear Ellen:

It goes without saying that the shelter who took Iggy away from your hairdresser's daughter was completely devoid of compassion.

My heart is breaking for you and for the family you obviously trusted with your precious cargo. How cruel to go into their house (with police, no less!!!!!) and take away the gift you had given them!

I hope and pray the outcry from millions of Americans will change their policy. At the very least, I hope they will give Iggy back to the people who will give him the loving home he deserves.

Your opening on TV today broke my heart. I hope you felt all the love that was flowing in the TV audience, and hope you feel the love from your faithful viewers.

You are, and continue to be, a staunch representative for human and animal rights. And God bless you for being such!

Judy MacDougall

Whoever the person was at the SPCA that made that decision, just embarassed the entire network of animal rescue groups. They should be fired at the least. Animal rescue groups do such good work and the national negative PR they received just set them back.
Someone with some pull needs to contact this agency and read them the riot act.

For all the good YOU do, you'd think they would have thought this through before acting so irresponsible!!!

I hope all works out in the end.

I was really upset to hear about the dog! Please let us know as soon as they do give the dog back to your hairdresser because I'm sure they will!

Oh My God Ellen. My heart is breaking for you. Give me a freakin' break. You mean to tell me that the adoption agency didn't even have the heart to ask some questions? Go to your hairdresser's house? Don't they know you or watch your show? Anyone can see what a nice loving person you are. And almost every day you say how much you love animals. They are being ridiculous. This is not brain surgery. All of this was totally uncalled for. We (all your fans) know that you would never have given that dog to a family that didn't want the dog or wasn't going to take care of it. We all know there are rules. Rules are sometimes bent or broken. Someone with common sense at that shelter should have stepped in and done something. Is there someone at the agency who is power hungry?

SHAME SHAME SHAME ON THAT SHELTER!!!!!!!!

FIRTST OF ALL.....

For those of you who have posted HEARTLESS comments about Ellen choosing to talk about that poor little puppy and not having a moticum of compassion in their heart for everyone involved, here's a newsflash--IT'S HER FREAKING SHOW!!!! She can choose to speak about whatever she pleases...so shut the heck up. Didn't your mothers ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. And if you CHOOSE to say something negative or not nice, be prepared to have someone put you in your place and point out your obvious rudeness and lack of grace.

Ellen, I share in your grief. Please know that I will pray fervently to have that puppy brought back home to those children. I will also send an email to that disgusting excuse for a shelter on your behalf. I am an animal lover as well and I think what those people did is animal abuse...plain and simple...how dare they!!!!! I know you didn't read the fine print...we all make mistakes but your heart was in the right place and I beleive in my heart that this terrible situation will be resolved and that puppy will be returned. OMG-those rotten jerks! My heart is aching right now. UGGGGH!!! I'm disgusted and heartbroken all at the same time but I'm going to block out those feelings and think positively and pray and believe that Iggy will be returned.

You are a wonderful, warm, funny, intelligent, good and kind-hearted person. I am on your side and so are most people. You keep doing what you're doing, nice people DO finish first!!!

Love ya, Ellen and good luck to you ;))

Michelle

Ellen,
My heart goes out to you, your family and the new adoptive family. I have had to return a rescue dog due to continued biting issues. The only reason I was aware of the policy is because I had called the shelter several times for recommendations on techniques and behaviorists. I hope your plea will encourage the SPCA to make this policy perfectly clear for future adoptions and avoid such heartbreak.

I will keep you in all in my thoughts and prayers.

GG

I just was sobbing with you. I just feel so badly for everyone envolved. Just like the old saying "no good deed goes unpunished." In your heart you ment well. If the shelter did an inspection of the new home, they would see that the puppy is loved and well cared for and that it has you to check in and be the other 'mom'. It's not as if you were giving it to some crazy people. I too have my puppy from a rescue shelter along with three cats and it is a challenge. I could not afford a trainer, so the work is still a daily job. My heart goes out to all.

Our Dearest Darling Ellen

Dearest wonderful tender heart what the shelter did you was pretty low. When you took that puppy neutured it,trained it,loved it and couldn't care for it anymore you made sure it had a loving home with two souls that fell in love with it. I feel your hurt, tear and your disapointment to know there are still people out there that choose money over love and if the shelter turely cared for the puppy their first priority would have been that the puppy was in a good home. Now ziggy lives in a cage waiting for someone like you to take him home again. Shame on the shelter.Be sure Ellen you did the right things love begets love. You are incredible and you generousty never wavers. Please don't stop being who you are. Some the world is cold we need you to warm the rest. We love you big mussy hugs to you and I even wipe your tears with my hand from your cheek.

Your loving fans
Deb and Anne
P.S.
This is to the one who wrote in to say Ellen had no right to talk about the puppy today. Get a heart for its very Obviously you don't have one. In regards to Ellens show she has move heart than you can handle and she probably don't need a veiwer like you.

What the world needs now is Ellens sweet love thats the one thing the world needs plenty of... winks at Ellen

Oh Ellen,I'm so sorry about the puppy. I wish I could do something to make it better! Just know that there are a whole lot of us who would love to give you a big hug today! I hope they give the puppy back to those kids. Thanks for all you do from one pet lover to another. Faith

Hi Ellen, sorry to hear about Iggy. Watching you right now and it's heartbreaking to hear about that I hope all gets better.. Think positive and just pray.

I love ya Ellen and the show is a great pick-up but your daily traumas are a drain...deal with the dog story on your own, cry on your partners shoulder and dont dump on us.
Why do celebrities think we care about every move of their lives...here's a hint, we dont.
