Ellen's Employee Of The Month

If you saw me with wine expert Gary Vaynerchuk, you know that he couldn't get me to eat dirt mixed with cigars. My producer, Kara Hogan wasn't so lucky in rehearsal.

HEY ELLEN,
JUST WANTED TO SAY HI AND TO TELL YOU THAT MY JOB AS AN ELECTIVE IN HIGH SCHOOL WAS WORKING THE CORD SWITCHBOARD AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH THAT I LISTED THAT TO BE WHEN I GOT OUT OF SCHOOL IN THE YEAR BOOK.THAT WAS 1965 AND GUESS WHAT?I AM A SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR AT A HOSPITAL.IT IS NOT THE WORSE JOB BUT I REALLY GREW UP TO BE WHAT I WANTED TO BE.

awwww poor Kara!lmfao you are HILARIOUS girl,i fell of my couch laughing at you :P you deserve a hug for that....*hugs*

Hi Ellen. I wanted to mention someone who works on your show. His name is Carlos (I don't know his last name) and he phoned us to let us know that we had guaranteed tickets to your show. We were so excited. Unfortunately, in the end we were unable to attend. But he was so nice to us and helpful with all our questions. I think people who are helpful to other people should be rewarded. So I hope that you can find something nice to do for him since he was so nice to us.

I Love your show and watch it every day with my 16 month granddaughter who dances every time the show comes on and she hears the music..Oh and yes I dance with her.

Poor Kara, I was lucky enough to get a phone call from her last June. After talking to her I truly think she is a great employee for your show and after watching this I think she deserves a big raise!!!!!! Keep on making us all laugh we love you.

Hey Ellen,
THe worst job in the world is my husbands. He works for a rendering company. In case you don't know what that is, they process dead animals.(mainly turkeys, chickens, feathers and the blood)EWWW!!! He has to fix the machines that break down. As you can imagine that involves sticking his hands into some pretty disgusting places. Love your show!!

Now, I love my wine, but I do not think I want to ruin it with dirt, cigars, leather, etc. But I have to say, since the show I opened a bottle that I had not tried before, and I swear all I smelled was dirty feet. OK...no more smelling, just drinking ! The bottle was later consumed after a bottle of better vintage was drunk ! (The old college trick, drink good beer first and then move on to the cheep stuff !)

That was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time! I have kept a taping of the show just so I can watch it again - cracks me up everytime. She was a great sport!

Also, try watching it on slo-mo - even funnier!

Ellen, you are the best.. K, my first and worst job was when I was about 15 and my parents let me quit school (bad decision) so I decided to work at this chicken farm down the road. My job was to go into these long dark stinky chicken houses to collect chicken eggs. I had to push this huge long cart and walk through ankle high chicken poop. Half the time I could not see the spiders I walked into, the chickens would scream so loud that my ears would ring. What was crazy and the best part of the job was that my boss let me, this little skinny girl drive a great big fork lift.. with no experience what so ever... I soon realized that with no school I would be doing that kind of work forever..
I quit after two weeks although it took me some yrs to go back to school I did and finished. I am still unemployed.. Just kiddin' I am starting soon a study of floral design.. so if you need someone to redesign your stage or home give me a call chickie'

OGM! I laughed so loud at work in the morning, and thank god no one was here that early. That was great to see, and I could totally see myself doing crazy things like that, but only if you Ellen try it before me. If your crazy like that, then I'm crazier. The best part is when she almost spit the water out of her mouth, cuz that had me going. Love every minute of your show, so don't stop now. Love you!

This is nothing to do with worst jobs. But I bought a candle once and it had no wick. I took it back to the shop and the person turned it upside down and guess what? there was the wick!!! ha ha.

When I was 16, my job was to pick roe out of herring. It was a 10 hr. shift from 8pm to 6 am in a cold warehouse right on the water. We had our break in the ladies changeroom sitting on the cold floor. I lasted 2 whole days!
Keep dancing!

Shauna

My worst job was when I was 12. I worked in a carrot factory during the summer earning less than the minimum wage at the time. My job was to sort and cut the ends off of the carrots. The smell of the cleaning solution and the carrots was so bad that I wasn't able to eat carrots for over 5 years! Everytime I open a bag of prewashed baby carrots, I have a flashback.

Awe, come on! It's just dirt. I've eaten dirt before and I'll do it again! It's really not that bad.

That is just horrible!

I sorted the napkins from octoberfest.
you know at the laundry?
separate the coloured ones from whites after they had been used by people who had too much beer and too many sausages and got sick to their stomach?
this was the only job I could get at the time to support my 3 kids.
thank goodness that job only lasted 3 months..... PHEW

P.S. I love your show.
Marlene
