expierment with you where he placed a cup of
water with a paper over it on your head. When
it was over he showed that it became solid. I
was wondering, what it was that was in the cup
before the water was put in, and the water/soluion
ratio is to re-create this experiment. I'm leading a scientific Vacation Bible School this summer and thought it would be neat to use.

Ellen, I love you and I love the show. I have watched since way back when you had the sitcom.. Anyways I live in boring cape coral fl. I have 3 boys, ( 2 sons and 1 husband ). I always want to go to orlando when you come to universal. but of course not only is it unaffordable for a family of 4 right now, but it is merely impoosible to get tickets to see you. Martha Stewart devoted a whole show to Nurses and it really felt good that someone recognized us. Alot of institutions that Nurses work for DONT even mention it or thank them. Ellen~ I would like to know if you could help me find employment opportuntites for people with special needs. I have been working for 3 years for a company that has two vocational workshops. My job is to try and get these people jobs in the community. It is the hardest job I have had of my career. Not only because society does not think people with special needs can do anything for their company, but also now we are headed for a recesion. The first people to get laid off is my clients! You are such a great advocate for animals and gay rights. I try so hard every day to find jobs. Days at a time go by, I waste an entire tank of gas just driving around Raleigh NC looking for employment. This is something I feel so passionate about. I must be pretty despertate to help my clients find jobs that I am trying to hit you up. I wish more talk shows would talk more about this population of people. Interview them, talk to their staff. I tell everyone I am in love with a secret population. Love your show. Keep up the good work.

My father is 79 years old has no retirement but a dream. His dream is to travel to Rome where the Pope was. We can't afford to give him his wish so I hope you can help out. He's a great man, he takes care of my Mom who has diabetes and doesn't get out much. He raised 11 kids, has 38 grandkids, 38 great grandkids. He never went to school and never learned to read or write. My brother was teaching how to write his own kids names. It was a blessing that he was able to learn that. Please help us out. I watch your show every night in the wee hours of the morning when I can't sleep, and the tears and laughter always help me rest better. I know you're a big fan of animals, cheese pizza and ethical states of being, and I'd like your help with two of these.
I'm lucky enough to work for two very passionate and generous men. One man I've worked for almost 20 years, recently created the Oregon Animal Sanctuary where abandoned and abused animals can go to live out their lives in peace and joy on the Double Oak Farm in the Applegate Valley.
My other boss is the visionary founder and director of the Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library, one of the largest in the world. In addition to the library, he just opened the Rogue Valley Free Media Exchange where rich and poor, young and old alike can come and take away the free books, tapes and CDs we have sitting on our shelves.
Both of these men are not only sowing the seeds of good Karma, but have also taken on the task of self-funding their own vision, and I believe their good works deserve a lot of support. With your help, we could give them some added exposure to get them the kind of backing both nonprofits need to survive.

I actually have two questions. Are each and every email/comment being read? I find myself on your site quite alot these days and I like putting in my two cents worth. Lastly, I know that you've visited Orlando Florida on several occasions. I'm a Correctional Officer and I work at the Orange County Correctional facility there. If you are ever in area again, would you be interested in visiting our facility and speaking to the youthful offenders there? For them to have made it there means that their charges are more often than not pretty serious.

I watch your show at 10 a.m. each day, and when my son comes home from 4th grade, he watches it again at 4pm (it's on twice in a day here). Today, when audience contestant, Renee, cheated on the pinhead game, I was determined to email you to encourage you to give Stacey the trip to Hawaii also. Before I could do that, you called Travel Wizard and encouraged them to award Stacey the trip too! Thank you for that. I am a Board member of an organization called "Dreams Come True of Louisiana". Dreams Come True if comprised solely of volunteers. The intent of the organization is to provide "dreams" for children who live in the state of Louisiana who have life-threatening illnesses from the ages of 3 to 21. Our mission is to attempt to restore the beauty of the dreams of some very special children who have life-threatening illnesses, by making their most cherished Dreams Come True. Our interview committee visits with the child and his/her family to determine the child's "dream".
I'm in charge of an interview and the task of fulfulling a dream for a little girl named Jourdon who lives in Livingston,La. a small town outside of Baton Rouge. Jourdon is 9 years old and has Cystic Fibrosis. Her "dream" is to attend a "Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana" concert and to be able to meet her.

Ellen, I have been writing, more funny stuff, but I suffer from anxiety and depression, try to mask it, but I found this 'addictive' web-site to help and for some reason was drawn to a 14 year old named 'Kimmy' and I am worried about her. She lives with her alcoholic father and has seen him break her mom's cheek bone when she was 9, brings back bad memories for me. I saw my step-dad punch my mom when I was 8 and on & on & on...he died of cancer in 1988, but believe it or not, I miss him. He slapped me when I was 14 for no real reason, but he was also there for me when got in a bad car accident when I was 17. he did all he could to help me, took me to therapy, was at the hopital everyday (I was there for 2 weeks), and I am crying HARD right now, sorry, but I am worried about this girl. I believe she lives in Great Britain and sounds like such a sweetheart. but my question is, could you possibly get us together so we can figure out how to help her? I have only been talking with her for 2 days, but I can't let go! I have no kids and don't want them, but God saved me several times for SOMETHING, and maybe this is it, to hel others, I don't know. I know better than anyone, you can't help those who don't want help, but therehas GOT to be something for this family, somewhere. And not only her, but others, what can I do, besides give my depressing story? Hell, I need help!!!! LOL. This jusr REALLY touched me. (I can't quit crying, my boyfriend is going to think something weird....gotta put comedy somewhere!) Just, plase, canyou help e meet her and let er know she's not alone? aybe I'm asking too much....

Well I can’t believe it, he’s done it again! I set my alarm to watch your show and the President has to pick that time to go on the air! He has 23 hours to choose from and he has to take YOUR hour. I know we need to know about the state of our country but why now? I went to take and shower and came out and he’s STILL talking! You see your show is what I look forward to every day. I lost my job at the hospital right before Christmas last year due to a layoff and cannot work until I have another wrist surgery (I’ve already have had four), but now work comp has denied it. This injury has been going on since December of 2006. As you can probably guess I’ve been a little down. My husband is in Virginia just so we can make some money (we live in Minnesota) and he is self-employed. He’s in an area where, believe it or not, there is no cell phone service so I don’t get to talk to him every day. He has to go into town to the library to get on-line to email me or call me. My son is 19 and living at home. He found out yesterday that his car has to have some major work done (about $1,400.00). It’s a used car and he just got it two months ago. I need that money to pay our $850.00-a-month medical and dental insurance as the insurance was through my job. I’ll find a way though, I always do. FYI, the President just stopped talking but now your show is over (sad face). My best friends are sisters I have known for 49 years, they are always there for me. I will do anything for them; I enjoy helping others who are in need whether it's giving clothes, food or even my blood. I keep a “stock” of gifts which I buy throughout the year and love to put together special gifts. My favorite thing right now is to give a new wallet filled with different gift cards, which puts a smile on the kids’ face. My family lives in Oregon and Colorado and my daughter goes to school in San Francisco. I know a lot of other people are in worse situations than mine and at least I have a roof over my head. I just wanted you to know how entertaining, wonderful and a caring woman you are. I would love to see your show live sometime and will do it someday. Writing this has already made me feel better. The sun is finally shining, it’s 42 degrees right now and at least we don’t have snow, which the weatherman said we got 10 inches in 1984 on today’s date! I did watch your "hiring" video - hilarious! I am startin with a comment first: It was soooo diesappointing that I barely heard the word autism anywhere during "Autism Awareness Month". Especially disappointing since we were in crisis with our son. We are so not alone in this "every second" consuming condition and the public battles we face just to TRY to enjoy what the rest of you enjoy. Since everyone seemed to forget that there are many, many of us who live life in a constant state of crisis and questions can you find a way to bring the info to the forefront and help people not forget about us who feel left out and lost in life.
Hi Ellen. My little dog Daunte has been missing and sighted in the small town of Vergas, 3 miles from my home. He has been seen by many many people, The Mayor has told me there is nothing that they can, or will do to help find him. also a Council mans wife told me the same thing. I desperatly need your help. I remember you crying so heart broken when the puppy was taken from your friends, so I know that you love dogs. Daunte is my companion. There are several friends of mine that drive around vergas morning and afternoon tryiing to spot him. One is my friend Charlie, he is 87 years old. Inez is 82 years old, Arleen is 70 years old, and i am 71 years old. My son Mike has driven many hours and times to find him also. Is there any thing you can do to help me get my dog back? So I wanted to ask how may staff in total (even the publicity and the caterers and the lighting guys and everything) you have working on your show? What do they all do? This is not a joke! My two year old daughter and I have been watching your show together lately. Usually her favorite is Spongebob...but you have now replaced her! (Thank you). Anyway, her favorite part of the show is when you dance. No matter what the song is, we get up together and dance. My dancing abilities aren't all that great, but her's are really fun to watch, because she imitates everything you do. I think it is so cute. So, the beef of the story is I was sitting with my family eating dinner and my mother said, "You are so low to the ground you little shorty! My daughter busts out into a dance singing, "Ellen got low, low, low, low. Imitating the song "Low". It was the cutiest thing ever. So beware next time you are dancing to this song, because you have a follower that is only 2. LOL. We love your show!

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your show, of course everyone that watches does.
I was so bummed last year when I had to go to work full time,because I had to miss it, that I had my husband (i.e. me and ebay) buy me a tivo so that I can tivo your show and watch it when I get home.
I loved the episode you had with the young@heart chorus, but must tell you, I am so disappointed that because I live in hicksville USA there are no theaters showing this movie. What can I do in order to see this? I think if every city had a program like this for the elderly,so they can stay young at heart and young at mind,our world would definatley benefit. They have so much to offer us all.

I am hoping someday to be able to bring my 80 year old mother and my daughter to your show. It has been on my "to do" list for quite awhile now. I know it would definatley make their day( mine too) I have found that these are memories that no one can take from me. I have a son that lives in the Hollywood area and have been able to take her there to see things she always wanted to see, the Kodak theater, the Chinese theater. the walk of fame,etc. and to see her light up at doing something she thought she never would get to do is absolutly priceless. I know you understand this due to your incredible relationship with your own "mama".

Howdi, I Was looking for a nominate a Mother something, for Mothers day (something or another). I am in a group called MOPS, (Mothers of preschool) It's a Christian based group. I have been involved for 4 years. It has touched my life in such a positive way beyond belief.

This "girl" is just a sweetheart; she has a husband who is having heart surgery in June. His first surgery was at 15 months for tetrology of fallot heart surgery. I have noooooooo clue what that is but he is a great guy. He is a paramedic and taught us safety for our kids. He is a big part of the community as well. They have a 2 year old son (Angelo) with Hereditary Fructose Intolerance, and finally diagnosed with metabolic liver and POLG1 mitochondrial. . Again with the big words, no idea how to say that either. What I do know is he can never go to school, play groups, play sports or anything. Kinda the boy in a bubble deal. Any way there is not a prognosis due to only eight people in the world with it. Any way Stephanie gave testimony at our annual tea and she sings so beautiful that I sobbed (easy to do). I knew of her story previously, but you never know everything about what a family goes through unless you live it. My 5 year old son is autistic and by no means is this anywhere near what they go through. They have to drive to Cleveland clinic to see specialists and the gas is horrible (as we all know). Plus anywhere from 250.00 to 450.00 a month for medicines out of pocket. She has a strong faith in god and she is such a beautiful person inside I just thought a nominate a mother something to nominate her. We all struggle and we all have health issues, but this is so much more for a 27 year Mom, wife to handle on her own. Her grace and positive attitude is relentless. I really want the best for the whole world really, but I know, I know can’t save everyone. But gezzzzz, golly, grrrrrr. Anyway this is a small, small version of her life and a fraction of the person she is. Well enough for now, thanks for listening and maybe you all can come to the scrap booking fundraising crop we are having for their family. It’s just Rochester, NY. Not too far eh? Hi Ellen I'm from Canada and am asking you to please call my daughter-in-law who is a grade 2 teacher. She deserves a smile because she married my son in March 2007, and 3 weeks after getting married, my son was diagnosed with a very rare spinal cord tumor. She spent 14 weeks by his side both day and night last summer and fall. My son Cody passed away in Nov. and we buried him on his 29th birthday Nov 16th. Ellen Melissa really needs a reason to smile again and I am hoping you can do it. I truely love her for making my son's last days special. I want you to know that I love you and your show, I watch you everyday. I must tell you that you have helped me get over some of the most unhappy moments of my life, seeing you and making me laugh is more than enough to get me through the day. Thank you so much for the gift of laughter that you bring to me and all your viewers.
There is one thing that bothered me though, since watching your episode with the woman
that blurts out “ WALK OFF” , ( from the THE BACHELOR) something didn’t feel right to me. I don’t know the exact reason why she acted that way but for WHATEVER REASON I find it so arrogant of her to be telling anybody that. Telling everybody that they don’t have to like what she does, with that body language and saying that she’s a good person and nobody could tell her otherwise is plain simple arrogance to me. And since I know that you are promoting KINDNESS in your show, telling everyone to be more “GODLIKE”, I felt that it’s wrong to encourage her. Being LIKE GOD doesn’t just mean being kind, compassionate but also SLOW TO ANGER. Anger produces strife. Nobody wins in an argument really, you can have the last word, but its just ends up making the other person feel bad. I believe that if somebody does or say something that offends you, don’t snap back, instead pray for God’s help for them for if we are to be kind to them, God will bless us for it. Don’t repay evil for evil. I wish you could talk to her again, and convince her to live a life of humility and kindness so that your audience will not be misguided.

I gave My Son threw out these Years of raising him to become the Fine Young Man he is to this day, all the Love in the World. He did without alot of things, we did without food, due to running etc, anyways, If I Had One Dream to come true, "I Honestly dont even No what the Hybrid is, but I know My Son and His Fiance do, lol, but for "Just One Dream To Finally Come True To My Son , as I Love him so Much and Admire His strength for what this Young Man has been Through, and To do without so much growing up, (Which The Love Is the Most, and One of the Best Things anyone can have in life, as all other items are inmaterial,But Ive Never, Never Been able to Do anything Big or This Nice for Him, It would Sure Be A Great & Wonderful Wedding Present, & A Great Getaway Car" hehehe... lol.. anyways,

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, bark, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years --canine or feline attendance is not required.

I would like to able to pet sit for the love of the animals, but I live on a small island that is called Pine Island. I live in Bokeelia and with gas prices it is hard for me to go into Cape Coral or Ft Myers and get paid very little.
I would like to do it as a gift to those who care about their animals as much as I do.

I have called on them , but she works for the sherrifs dept. They won't touch her.
I know I can't save the world, but I am trying to save the animals that I can.
My car is a 1999 and not equipted to do a lot of rescueing, although I have.
Please consider me, only for the animals.

I was wondering if you had Your Mother's Day show planned yet? If not, I am a member of a group of moms that are truly awesome. We are all Proud Army Moms (PAM for short). Our sons and daughters are, were, or are about to be deployed. By the grace of God most of us are Blue Star Moms but sadly there are a few whose kids paid the ultimate price for freedom and they are now Gold Star Moms. Most of us only know each other through e-mail and we are in touch everyday supporting each other through one of the worst things a mother can endure. All mothers worry about their children but our children, although adults, are in harms way everyday. Most of the time, for security reasons, we don't know where they are and it isn't unusual for us to go for long periods of time with no contact from them. It would be so nice for us to actually meet each other and with your help that dream could become a reality. If there was ever a group of moms that needed a special treat it's us. Thank you for your time. Your show truly lifts my spirits.

I even asked friends to record your show and spend two, three, four hours at their house just watching you. But, I have a question for you, have you ever had the Dog Whisperer on your show? I know you are a huge animal lover (as am I) and I feel you two would just hit it off! He is sooooo cool! Now that I have a DVR you and the the Dog Whisperer are the only two shows I record. The whole TV thing with very good people (you) interests me on how things are dealt with. I was very into Marketing 20 years ago, when I was a senior in High School and am looking to re-generate myself in a marketing degree now. What is your opinion on on-line schooling? I hate to brag, but there were only two people out of the 2 marketing classes we had at school tht made A's on their finals, I was one of them. What do you suggest to go beyond, even tho it's been 20 years? You kept plugging along even with small set backs, just wondering how a 'common' person should persue. Hi Ellen we tivo your show everyday as we have to work and accidently deleted the show where you had a video clip of the Lion that was sent to a Game Park in Africa and the people went there to visit and see if the Lion remembered them and it did please can you send me that clip so we can look at it we missed it by deleting your show accidently and we love animal clips like that they are always so wonderfull and cause some tears at times. Hi Ellen, My name is Diane and I am a fan of your show, but you do one thing on your show that I just don't care for. When you go on the road to other cities you are always giving away free trips to people on your show to the city you are going to. Those people have already had the opportunity to be on your show and see you. Why not give the opportunity to the people in the city you are traveling to instead of bringing audiences with you.

Dear Ellen,
I watch your show when I can, but I try to get to the gym that time of day. The point of this is that I admire you're spunk and happiness so much that it almost makes me cry. I'm working with a progressive nurological illness called spastic parapeligia (sp?). As each spring arrives I notice that the increased difficulty in walking that I felt coming on during the winter is here to stay. It's not just the winter it's the desease, but when the weather changes I secretly hope for improvement, but it's just another plataue. My point is that I'd like to be like you. You're so up beat and relaxed. I used to love to dance but can't with my legs, but I can shake my fanny and dance from the waist up. At the gym I work on core and upper body as well as keeping my legs moving on bikes and tread mills. I have to keep moving no mater what the pace.
I'm going to look into Wayne Dyer for some help. Life's too short and I'm usually stronger than this letter sounds but sometimes I feel like I've lost myself in it all because I know it's not going to get better. I have to find a way to be better emotionally. It's all in my head and that can be a scary place! (ha ha)

Halo pet food, I checked it out and it's just sooo expensive. It sounds great and I would like to feed my cats with it but I can't afford it. I feed 7 feral cats that I've had spayed and neutered and I have two house cats. One weighs 23 pounds the other 14, so obviously they eat a lot.
Do you think the food might become more affordable? Or is there a place that might be cheaper than where I looked. It was in Gilroy, Ca. I found it on the Halo site and they only had dog food but would order the cat food. I didn't order it when I heard how much it was. I'm on a fixed income and go thru more than 30 pound of food a month.

Anyway, I just want to let you know that my dog, Ebony, has always had a problem with her bowls.
I have tried everything from pumpkin to medications. About 5 weeks ago I went to the vitamins for pet and people store. The woman suggested I give her SUPREMA DOPHILUS. About a week later my mother told me about Halo dog food. She said, Ellen talked about it on the show. So, we bought it. She loves the food.

Can we write letters to the gobernment to donate money to help this unfortuned children. they have made funds for other things. I hope if I get tickets that I could be closer to the front as I am short 5ft 1", I used to be 5' 1 1/2" tall but shrunk do to age, anyway as I was saying, if I could get closer to the front I would be most grateful because I ussually end up with a tall person in front of me and then I can't see a thing!

Johnathan is 13 years old. He is dying. He needs a kidney transplant. His 9 year old brother may have the condition as well. We need help in getting the word out. The doctors believe that the evidence points to a condition called Alport Sydrome, which is an inherited condition that affects cellular structure and always eventually results in kidney failure in males (along with potential hearing and vision impairment). Unfortunately, Jonathan’s diagnosis may only be the tip of the iceberg.
Since Alport Syndrome is hereditary, there is a 50/50 chance that each of the other 3 kids has it.
Early tests indicate that Lauren and Kendall are symptomatic; Daniel (3) has not yet been tested.
Kendall will undergo a kidney biopsy soon to confirm/deny his early symptoms and determine his condition.
Enormous need:
Jonathan is in need of a kidney transplant.
Aside from a miracle of God, which I am praying for, there is no hope for Jonathan’s kidneys to recover functionality.
Dialysis is intended to be a temporary measure – a bridge to life until a kidney is donated to him for transplant.

You are the woman that I want to be. We have a lot in common because my legs do "the Ellen Dance" all night long! I have RLS among other medical "situations".
I am hoping that you can help me with something that is bothering me to the point I don't want to smile or talk to anyone. It really takes the fun out of doing anything.
See, I have been on medications for a rare lung condition for 28 years. Inhalers, steroids, etc. have just been a part of life for me. But boy have they done a number on my teeth. I've lost teeth while eating and not known it!!!
Because I am disabled and on Social Security, I can not afford to go to a dentist to have all the work that needs done. My grandsons say I am "a scarey grandma". Do you know how this hurts me?
Please Ellen, any help or recommendations you can give I will be greatful for. I just want to be able to smile again without looking like . . . (?)
I would like to be able to eat normal, smile, and talk to people. I'm really a fun person, but too embarrassed to show that side of me.

Dear Ellen i have wrote u several times with no luck yet but i havent given up on reaching u cuz i know u have a big heart when it comes to people and animals. April being autism awareness month jus relaly brings them both together. My son is almost 7 years old with severe autism and i was watchin the other morning about 4 paws for kids with disabilities and they wre matching these animals with the autistic childs behavorial attitude. These dogs r trained to sniff out this child if they wonder off and r always with the child as a companion to help them with social adaptation but these animals cost 12,000 and i would so love to see my child with one. He has so deserved it for everything he has went through in his short lived life. Born at 25 weeks weighing in at 1 pound and 15 ounces and 13 inches long. His NICU stay was about 3 months and was touch and go. He had had many medical problems, and now one of our main concerns is his aggression it has been gettin worse and worse. He is in a local school as of now but just for 2 hours a day, they increase his time little by little, because of change could have such a draw back on these kids. Im a low income disabled woman myself and ive been contacting local people for funraisers, to help me on my quest for my son. He is big for his age and eventually will hurt me or someone from his aggression if we dont get it under control , its not that he wants to hurt anyone, just imagine how hard it would be to want to say something and get ur point across and couldnt? Im unable to work cause joseph is 24/7 care and i want only the best for my son and one of our daily ruoutines Ellen is watching u, kids with autism r very routine based, and i jus want u to know that there is one lil man that looks for u everyday, hes alot like u lovvvvvvvvves music, u dance and he starts lol. He a sweet and intelligent boy with so much to offer this world if he could just get a chance cause nothing with a child with autism is cheap. I know how committed you are to causes, that is why I am writing to you. A very good friend has a little boy that has HISTIOCYTOSIS.
Histiocytosis is a rare blood disease that is caused by an excess of white blood cells called histiocytes. The histiocytes cluster together and can attack the skin, bones, lung, liver, spleen, gums, ears, eyes, and/or the central nervous system. The disease can range from limited involvement that spontaneously regresses to progressive multiorgan involvement that can be chronic and debilitating. In some cases, the disease can be life-threatening.
In some ways, histiocytosis is similar to cancer and has historically been treated by oncologists with chemotherapy and radiation. Unlike cancer, histiocytosis sometimes goes into remission without treatment.
The vast majority of people diagnosed with histiocytosis are children under the age of 10, but it is also found in adults of all ages.
It is approximated that histiocytosis affects 1 in 200,000 children born each year in the United States. This illness is so rare, there is little research into its cause and treatment, and it is often referred to as an "orphan disease," meaning it strikes too few people to generate government - supported research.
Because of this I was hoping that you can place a link on your website to Histiocytosis Association of America to help get exposure. There is a walk being planned by my friend for May 3rd. Her son's team is "Ryan's Heros" . Anything can help. We have been lucky that Ryan is doing fine on chemo and there has been no progression in growth but not all children are that lucky.
I thank God everyday that my two children are healthy and happy.

Hi Ellen, You are absolutely fantastic and I adore you. I find myself in a pathetic situation. I am running for a State House seat in the legislature of South Dakota, district 15. I am a honest, hard-working nurse, mother, wife, and currently taking care of my elderly father. I am running with issues of teacher pay, economy, and woman's rights. There are two positions open with three democrats running. My two running mates are Right to Lifeers and using the Catholic church against me. They seem to have funds and I am in a poor, single parent district. I am a Catholic but believe in a woman's right to choose, gay marriage and right to contraceptive freedom. (Just passed in SD, a pharmacist can choose not to give the morning after pill due to his conscious) Give me a break. What a hardship for young girls in the middle of nowhere SD!! so far for the past few years have not at all been good. 3 years ago my father got cancer. his sister changed his will when he was not physically able to, and set her to have everything. so my mom and i, our financial life has been on hold for 3 years, and not moving anywhere, but down. she is one of those criminals that always gets away. a few months ago my grandma got cancer too. watching my dad go through it all, was-- there are no words. for the past months my mom and i have been in and out of the hospital, even on my birthday. a few weeks ago, it happened. my mom will hardly get out of the house, or even out of the bed. i havent seen her cry like this in all 14 years of my life! she says she doesnt think its possible for her to laugh ever again, let alone smile. ive been trying, but all i get is tears. also, i dont really know all the details, but someday soon, we will have to go bankrupt and only pay for things with cash, no credit cards at all. my mom has no job either,(with me to support) i dont think she could handle a job with all thats happening now. anyway, the point of this post is because on monday, march 31,"ELLEN AT THE POOL" my mom was watching your show,and saw a pair of all blue, patchwork, shorts. this is the first time in months ive never seen her get excited about something like this before. well, this mother's day im really hoping to find her those shorts and im sure that will make her smile and laugh. after all, there is no other cure then laughter! so if you can please contact me, kendalkjd@aol.com, i would be extremely greatful.

On Saturday March 29 6 friends and I went to see your show in Orlando. We had "stand-by" tickets which I get every year and we were able to get into the show and had a fabulous time. Our problem was, that when you swept your arm across the audience and announced "you are all getting annual passes to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure", we were so excited - until we went to leave and were advised by your staff that we would NOT be getting the annual passes (they said, "It was Ellen's choice") because we were sitting on a grassy hill next to the stage - INSIDE the ropes of the show. There were about 40 of us that the staff ushered out the side exit area after the show and then we were told the bad news. We would like for you to explain to us why we didn't get the gift too! You didn't say, "you all are getting passes - EXCEPT those of you seated on the lawn right there!" We were even on the winning side for the orange eating contest too! Please explain because we are all big fans and are all very, very disappointed.

I am a Facilities Manager at a great little hospital in Southern Illinois. As you can imagine working at a hospital is a very serious and stressful job. Every year we have what is called "Hosptial Week", where we let loose and have some fun, playing games, etc. Some of the employees here have seen the Marshmallow game on your show and want us to play it during "Hospital Week". I have been trying absolutely EVERYTHING to get my screenwriting career started, but, just getting a foot in the door seems the biggest obstacle. Agencies don't even talk to you until you've ALREADY done something, and obviously no one talks to you if you're not with an agent... I am seriously passionate about my writing, and really need to get my career started SOON, because my oldest son is 3 and a half, and school starts soon... I want to be able to get him and his brother into the good school with progressive learning and creativity. (Unfortunately, the public schools around here are quite subpar; even the elementary schools have constant need for police intervention, and I would be a nervous wreck sending my babies somewhere like that...)

But anaways i saw that videos on your site on the JONAS BROTHERS. i am a hugeee fan of theirs, like no joke ellen, i LOVE THEM. i saw them on your show the first and second time. I was watching your show today and you interviewed the Jonas Brothers and I just love their music. In the middle of your interview you asked the boys if they would ever date a fanand all of them said yes. When the Jonas Brothers described their type of woman I totally, with out a doubt fit their kind of girl. Ellen, you said on your show today that you were going to find a girl for each of those boys and I want to hold you to your word. I wanted to make a suggestion that you hold some kind of contest for a date with one of the Jonas Brothers and a separate girl will win a date with a different brother depending on age. I hope this sounds like a good idea that you will consider and I hope that I would be chosen as a contestant to win a date because it would mean so much to me. Well Ellen the truth is I would love to watch your show every but I watch but it is a first come first serve between me and 23 month old daughter for the television. shout out from Indiana. i need help, like the potato chip you once bought, i am a scarf that my now owner, has me encased between two pieces of glass ,bought, in rare form, black mostly, red leafy design, scattered, somewhat, a border, big empty spots, with a signature,two words, i can't see, one day she didn't have a curtain , for the window in the room her friend let her set up camp in, and she tacked me on her window. she admired me a lot, and i felt relieved because i wasn't all balled up stuck in a box forgotten somewhere. at that certain time of day the sunlight stood true to it's name. oh the life. it rained for awhile, not a little while, but an Indiana while, the window was always left open for whatever reason, even if just a small amount. with the wind. being our friend,it blew me, on the wet window, when noticed, my owner was upset , i was her favorite. hoping it wasn't ruined she unstuck me from the window and left me alone to dry. life went on, until one day her eye caught me just right , a watermark, she saw. and if you count the faces, there are three. one in flight, perched on what seems to be a broom, looking at no one, headed somewhere . locked in a passionate kiss , are the other two, heads cocked, and you can see the love. that both equally share. being part of the dress, flowing, a single cloud, from nowhere. feeling tattooed for life, why was i chosen, to be the one to hold these images, i try not to question, being the matter that i am, it was only water. why me.

I am a 45 woman in love with another girl and am having doubts about the way I am and the way I am living. Parents don't like it and are suspicious, but don't actually know yet. anyway, the ironic thing is that this girl lives with me, my parents live three doors down, and my brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and nieces, live next door. My name is Allison and I am one of you biggest fans. My family and I watch you everyday. I am a wife and a mother of a 5 year old wonderful little boy. I am going to school online in my spare time to get a degree in Medical Coding and Billing and working full time during the day at a retail store. I am asking for the opportunity for you to read my letter on the show in hopes that someone is watching and can help me know what to do or where to turn and get help with debt. In the past two years it has been the toughest for me and my family. My husband got a job on the rode driving a truck. They made it sound all good about the money you make but it isn’t true. There was a lot of time that he just sat waiting for them to tell him where to go get a load or was waiting due to weather. While he was doing this we were audited by the IRS and had to pay A LOT of money back. Because of this we had to sell one of our cars and it still did not pay them off. They took our income tax two years in a row. So while this is going on I have been with a retail company for four years. They cut my hours so bad that we were getting behind on our house payment and running our credit cards higher and higher just to live. I went to my managers and told them that I could not even make my house payment or hardly pay my utilities. They told me it would not last that I would be back up to 40 hrs before long. Seven months passed and still nothing. Still being cut one whole day off my paycheck, still behind on house payments and they didn’t care. I had to transfer to another location and take a pay cut just to get back to 40 hours. Since then we have refinanced our home with the interest rate so high because of falling behind in payments that we can barely afford it along with the utilities. Between all of this though, not that my story could get any worse, because my husband came home back to his old job in delivering appliances, which it pays good when there is work, which is the key, we had to buy him a another car which has added another payment. Shortly after that I also had to get car because after spending around $1000.00 to make mine like new and keep it running, mine blew up and unfortunately this has added yet another payment to us which we are behind in that as well. I have been looking online trying to find places that can help me and the best thing that I have came up with is a debt settlement company which for the next three years will be ruining my credit. I have also been trying to locate these government grants and federal grants that they say exist, but I have yet to find them. The ones I have found want me to pay them money up front and it’s money I don’t have. PLEASE, PLEASE read this on air so if someone is watching and they have suggestions I’ll know what to do.

I think you should talk about and help promote the GSA at the High School and Junior High level in California. GSA stands for Gay Straight Alliance. It is a club that many High Schools have but get almost no funding, they are there to promote knowlege amoung the student body and it is a safe place for Gay/lesbian/trans gender kids to go, where they are accepted and not judged. Many kids can't be open at home but at the GSA they can. My son is the president of the GSA at his high school Casa Grande High School Petaluma CA. The club changes the lives of many kids.

Well here goes my story, why I think I should win one:)My car is broke down for the 6th time since I have owned it. I am now driving my fiance's mothers car. I work very odd hours at Children's Hospital which is a 60 mile drive everyday. My daughter has special needs, so I need a reliable vehile to get us back and forth to all of her doctor and hospital appointments. I just recently started college and my attendance is a huge part of my grade:( It will be quite a while before I can either get a new car or fix mine because I am trying to save money for a new roof. Everytime it rains or snows, which is all the time in Ohio, I have puddles in my kitchen---Come on good weather!!! So I absolutely need a vehicle, for so many reasons. Hi Ellen, I was watching your show that aired 3/24/08, and was wondering where do you go to register for the GMC Arcadia? I see lots of post requesting consideration for the car. However, is there an official sign-up or do you just post to the site. I am about to welcome another addition to my family (Baby #3). The much needed space for strollers and car seats would be a dream come true for me, not to mention I am a very involved Aunt who has taken on the "mommy role" for some time in my two nephews lives. It's been hard to have everyone together just because the space in the car is not enough to transport safely especially when you have an infant seat, 2 booster seats for two 3 year old toddlers, and two 9 year olds, plus grandma that needs to be in the car. I could use that car and would appreciate every moment in that car! Thanks Ellen.

Hi Ellen, I will try to make this brief, I was wrongfully terminated by a very large prestigious bank after working there for 9 years and 8 months I am in the middle of legal issues right now I am also a student in college and I have a child that was diagnosed with Chrohn's disease last year. Do you know of any kinds of media that I can turn to that will be able to provide me with some media coverage concerning my wrongful termination? I am also thinking about writing a book once all of this is behind me

Dear Ellen please don't make fun of me but i am an 57 year old grandmother who is raising 4 grandchildren. I at one time had a life but now God have put these 6 kids in my life. My youngest daughter has the two older ones and i have the four youngest one. It hard but i do what God tell me to do. I have lost a lot my new car, furniture, clothes and at one time I thought my mind, but God brought us thought. Ellen, My Little girl is trying to save up her pennies and Nickles dimes for St.Jude children hpspital for making the children happy. To just to see them smile and make it easier for them throught this hard times they go through. She wants to work there when she gets older. She only 9 years old. she was a premie and was at Tulane Hospital for 1 month. she was only 3 pounds when she was born. They told us not name her because they did not think she was going to make it. Now.. she is 9 years old. She knows that Jesus put her on this earth to help all the Children that have all this illnesss. She is saving her Money to send to the children to make a differnt in their lives. She wants the world to know that she loves this children please help her do that. She wants to go see the children. She has lost so.. much from Hurrican Katrina. We was living in St. Bernard Louisiana. We lost our house and everything we had. She was born in NewOlreans. We lived there our whole lives. We now live in South Carolina. We are blessed that God has gave us such a happy home.We miss home and our family. God has been a blessing that everyone in our family is happy and safe. I’m tattooed & pierced & I have been making drastic changes in my life. I come from a VERY abusive upbringing & have lived on my own from 15 yrs of age. I have a very long terrible story and my father died of cancer & I found out 3 mo. after his death. My mother is not mentally well & is abusive. This past year I’ve been engaged to a wonderful man, James; w/ a great family. I got pregnant w/ his baby before the wedding & I’m too embarrassed of what I have done to my body to put on a wedding dress. I took out my piercings but I’m left with stretched out ears & scars all over my face. I have SO many tattoos that I’m afraid when we get married people laugh. I’ve noticed the neg. attention I receive when I’m out with my baby girl & a tattoo is showing – they look at me as if I’m a bad mom! I’ve just enrolled in college so that I can be a nurse but I think my appearance will inhibit my ability to get hired. When giving birth they had to perform an emergency cesarean which has left me with a tummy flap that hangs over my pants & I have so many stretch marks! Then I had back surgery from a herniated disc. I have lost 30 lbs. but I have gross hanging skin & I don’t want my fiancé to look at my body cause I’m so ashamed. I want to turn my life around & do the best for my family. I don’t have a family of my own except for my baby, Mariann and fiancé and his family. I love them all so much but I feel like an outcast. I have been going to church & staying away from all neg. influences & I really feel that if I could get my body made over & tattoos removed I would have so much confidence & no longer be an outcast. I lived my life as a Goth for about 15 years and it is time to grow up and be a part of society. I can send photos or whatever. I was a gothic model & now I am a conservative Catholic with a family that needs your help! We have set our wedding date for April 24th 2009 & we both have been “laid off” from our jobs. I'm 13 years old and my dream is to become a comedian. I wanted to ask you what it takes to be a good comedian(except for you can't be shy).
I am trying to find the hypnotist you had on your show last Tuesday. You said he helped you quit smoking. I have tried hypnotism before as well as many many diets but haven't been successful. I've even had my stomach stapled.
My problem is sweets and stomach stapling doesn't help that at all. It prohibits large amounts of food that is good for you. Sweets just slip on through in any amount. I would imagine most people don't know that. It seems to come down to will power and I don't seem to possess that. Please help.

I have taken pictures before but only for my comp card and stuff.This is a dream i had since i was a little girl, i have always dreamed about being on disney channel and having little kids look up to me.There are 3 people that i loo up to most and that i would absolutly love to meet.They are Miley Cyrus,Mariska Hargitay, and last but not least you! I commend you and all your worthy causes. I a writing to you regarding the Tap Water Project. I applaud you for all you do. Did you know that South Carolina and Georgia are suffering a severe water drought? Also, they just had on either the local news or CNN last week that 42 cities (including Atlanta) all have medications, etc. in their drinking water but they say it is still safe to drink. I thank that is horrible. Just wanted to share my thoughts with you.

I am here in Oklahoma and poor Sally Kern has been so confused and bewildered over the past few weeks, I was thinking we should do something nice for her.. I was thinking maybe your staff could make her a special world map.. The Sally Kern World Map.. As you are aware she has stated that all nations that have embraced homosexuality have disappeared from the face of the earth.. Well you and I know this isn't true.. But I think it would be nice if we let Sally be right, just for one day..

I really enjoy your show - you are a funny, sweet and caring lady - it comes through that screen with no pretences! I watched a clip you showed this morning in Australia (don't know when it actually went to air) about two young men who raised a lion cub then had to let it go to a wildlife sanctuary in Kenya. 12 Months later they went to discover if their lion was ok and I was so taken by the look on that lions face as it cuddled the one young guy. I wanted to show my boys who missed it but have had trouble searching for it. How do I find it? I'd love to show them. I was trying to explain it to my eldest son and he commented on how we underestimate the scope of love animals have.

To the best of my knowlage I don't even know a lezbian and I have probly even misspelled it. But to the important issue. I love this show the women on this show are not just amazingly beautiful, but show what wonderful contrabutions to society all women are, they have educated. Through the years i have seen then discriminated against because of there sexual prefrence.I am amazed. On a recent show you had a guest that cured a lady of eating chocolate and another of stress, The procedure was tapping the finger on the nose,on the back of the hand etc. What was his name and where could I find out more about this procedure. I am petrified of needles and therefore procrastinate getting my blood work done and going to the dentist in a timely fashion

Hello Ellen this is shaunna. I am a huge fan of yours. I used to watch your comedy acts on HBO and that is when I became a fan. I watch your show everyday and love everything you do for people. You are an amazing person and more people should be like you but I do have a question for you. Do you ever perform your comedy specials on HBO anymore? I havent seen one in a while but most likely you are too busy and dont have time for one but I used to love to watch it. Me and my mom would sit there for the whole hour and just laugh and laugh. You are hilarious and I would love for you to perform another one.

I'm a 15 year old student at Parkside High School, in a small town called Dundas, in Ontario, Canada. First off I would like to say I'm a big fan of your show.
Secondly, Our school is going to DECA internationals be held in Atlanta, Georgia. DECA is a business club, giving students oppurtunities in leadership and growth in interpersonal and decision making skills. This is also our eighth year of competing in DECA. We are currently trying to raise money to help fund our trip expenses. Thus far, we haven't had much luck. The purpose of this is to ask for any financial assistance that you may be able to offer. This is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity for students such as myself to develop our leadership skills and to interact with students from the entrie continent with similar interests in business and management.

Unfortunately, I don't have their names, but I did see the video of the performance, and they brought the house down. How about tracking them down? They are called the Cactus Cuties, I believe.

I always believed you were a class act, but I am SURE now! My grandson, Jarrett Scott, is working on your new home as an electrician. He tells me that you came out with a cup of coffee and talked to the workmen. You even asked him his name. He is pretty easy to identify. He is 6'7" with a shaved head and earring, the only one of my ten grandchildren who can be described that way. He has worked on other celebrities' homes, but never had contact with any until you. One, who shall remain nameless, even told the contractor that no one was to look at her or they would be fired. It is refreshing and rewarding to know that you care about people and that you don't find those working on your house invisible. THANK YOU! You are the best! I am having a beer tomorrow night with four of my grandchildren to celebrate my 78th birthday. Life is good.

Hey, Ellen, I also find having my ear turned funny when I'm trying to get to sleep annoying.It should be able to turn by itself. We should'nt have to do all the work. I also hate needing to go the john right when you're just about in lala land, and try to think you can make it till morning. It's only 4' away but it feels like you have to get up, get dressed, floss,and run for the station. Maybe I could bark and somebody will let me out. What if I fall and hit my head and nobody finds me till ole Aunt Nellie arrives with keys she ain't suppose to have and raids my place before calling 911? Or until the phone rings and rings and, finally, ya hear a message from Hillary, again, wishing me Happy B-Day, again. She is soo annoying. So, ya think ya better answer that cuz she'll tell Bill and he'll tell the secret service cuz that's their job to keep your secrets. Hillary knows what you're doing cuz she does it too and it's gonna come out cuz of Bill and the secret service. This is how she will lose the election. People will think, well, if she can't even get up to go to the bathroom at night, she surely ain't gonna be answering that phone at 3am. Agree? Your BF, Mary

Ellen, I have one suggestion and one question. OK the suggestion is when you play the marshmallow game you should lower the strings a little so the people playing won't get their faces ripped off when rubber tube slips. Now for the question why didn't you ever design the boots in those cool colors I would buy a pair of those in a heartbeat? The boots I'm asking about were like uggs.
