A Message from Ellen


Maybe it's just the Pilates talking, but I feel great. I'm ready to go. I'm up to the task. Put me in coach, it's time for SEASON 5! (IMAGINE AN ECHO EFFECT)

I spent this week getting ready for the big show. Our season premiere is September 4th in New York City. And my first guest is Senator Hillary Clinton! I have some campaign ideas for her. Like a new slogan: "Girls Rule-Boys Drool." Sounds like a winner to me.

I've been doing Pilates to get ready. It's really hard and has nothing to do with talking "pills" or drinking "lattes."

Speaking of lattes, we got a new coffee machine in the office. I'm telling you, everything's new this year. New coffee, new attitude - I even got a few new writers. And the show petting zoo got a new Gnu. I'm kidding, it's just fun to say, "New Gnu".

The only hitch in the giddy-up this week is that I'm furious with David Hasselhoff. I've been working on a song for "America's Got Talent," and he stole it. But I'm not gonna let it get me down. I turned it into a duet and put it on my website. I think you'll all agree that this is my moment!

Have a great Labor Day everybody. And I'll see you on September 4th!!

Please add a CC for your video links on your site.

The benefits would be for:
1. The hearing impaired
2. If you give a language option - increase GLOBAL viewing because could reach ...well everyone.
3. People like me whom the older computers audio and visual don't sink up too often.

Hello Ellen,
This comment is only a suggestion for your website designers. When trying to view your great video clips my computer lags in sound as or is choppy in visual. That got me to thinking, it would be nice have CC options. This would not only help me and my old computer but the hearing impaired. If they can give a language options it will help others whom want to get the full impact your shows around the globe.

Well you wouldn't believe the dream I had last night, you actually gave my family a home!Never in my wildest dreams did I think you would reaspond to my previous email for help with our housing needs , but I saw your show on how much you love real- estate and sure enough you answered my prayers ! Oh yeah,it was just a dream! Well just to fill you in ,we are still struggling with slumlords and pestides. My son chews on his clothes from nerves I believe, he desperately needs a bed, his feet hang off the end.We need furniture in the worst way, but until we move it's a lost cause because of the pest problems. I'm still in school and looking for employ
-ment in Phlebotomy and still taking Early Child-

Hi again Ellen ,
I saw your resent show about your love for real-estate and was wondering in response to my previous request for home furniture that maybe you might want to throw in a house too! I know this is a big dream , and I actually don't think in my wildest dreams that a star would help a family like mine in desperate needs. I actually did have a dream that you did, pretty wild huh! Just to let you know we are still struggling with slumlords that bombard us with pesticides and no place to go during the act and my son is becoming a nervous wreck always chewing on his clothes. I'm still in Early Childhood Dev. classes and others as well trying to get employment
,I am also a certified phlebotomist looking for work, and a metal artist. But Ellen, never in my wildest dreams did I think you would give me a house. Oh yeah, it was just a dream ! I'm trying every resource possible to get help with our needs. Do you want to adopt ?

Ellen you are an inspiration to the GPLBTQ community and as a person so please, as that down to earth and inspirational women who went after her dreams, watch the Buried Life on MTV. It is a video biography, (true and checked out that it is not scripted or "made for drama, fame, or made to sell for TV), on 4 guys who asked themselves a question "what do I want to do before I die?" They made a list and actually went after their dreams and after a few items got crossed off they started asking random people on the street of the towns they were in the same question and helped them achieve their number one wish. Example: a young Katrina survivor was separated from her mother during the chaos during and after the disaster. She never saw her again because her mother died, shortly after being evacuated without her daughter, of infection as a result of the conditions in the Superdome. These guys worked, asked for donations, and begged to make her wish come true...and they did with them in tow for support. I even cried and am not one who does so easily. Why am I asking and hope you will give these guys a chance? I am a 32 year old cancer survivor of Cervical Cancer (Chemo, Radiation, Surgeries and finally Hysterectomy at 25 years old. This show gave me the idea to make my own list and know that I could do anything-even have a child of my own someday and get married even though some people think I shouldn't be able to because of my sexual orientation. Can't help who you love.
Please make their dream come true and let them come on your show and dance with you!!! I look forward to seeing them achieve this and to see you smile when you meet them. They are asking on their website for fans to ask you and here I am. Please, please, please make this happen.

I love you and your show and the way you are not afraid to be yourself and let the world know "yes I am gay and not afraid to say it." You have been an inspiration and helped me come out so PLEASE don't just do this for me but for all the fans because these guys may even inspire you.

Hi I would like to see someone have Charlie Hunnam on there show...He really don't have a lot of interviews and he is a good actor..He is on Sons of Anarchy with Katie Sagal. He was in more movies then TV Nicholas Nickelbe (Lead) Green Street Holigans ( one of the leads) ect ect. So you would have some people tune in just to see him because you never get to see him on a talk show. He is really hot and I know tons of people who would like to see more of him. Oh ya and I don't want anything other then to say the people who write to you and ask you for stuff makes me ill I understand that stuff happens and there is a story but I am talking about the ones that are just lazy and don't do nothing for themselves and ask you for stuff...WTF

Hi Ellen, as you probably know....our Canadian Women's Team won gold again this evening!!!!!! I know you really were hoping for your USA team (per your show a few weeks ago), but our team just wasn't ready to release it. Here's a little stat for ya:
Canada won the 2002 and 2006 Olympic gold medals and dominated a pre-Olympic exhibition series against the Americans, who won the first Olympic women's title in 1998.

So, not to be a poor sportsmanship as we Canadians are usually really polite, put I just wanted to say...nanernanernaner...(hope you are laughing now). Try next time, but if there is another time, it's not gonna be an easy one for anyone to take it away from our Canadian team...heeheeheeh.

Oh, I know you offered the USA team to come onto your show after the oympics with their medals, so how about fair play and bring our Great Canadian Women's team as well with their gold, maybe even with the USA team there as well. GIRL Power, just sayin sayin. Promotes a good image for young girls and everyone really as every person is a winner.

Hello Ellen,
My name is Deenna Ruhl and im 20 years old. I was just wondering if some one can get back to me. That would be very appreciated, i need help with my rent and was wondering if you can help. I dont wanna live with my parents any more. The reason i wrote you 4 times before is that i wanted you to help me out with my wedding, but i think getting my own place first would be better. I dont like living at my mom and dads house. Its really stressful here, i mean we get yelled at for eating and even taking showers my mom dosent think you should take a shower every day. She says you should take it when you can smell yourself. Sorry but that is not a life i mean greg and i are trying to get a hold of people that help out for rent but thats not helping cause they never get a hold of me. I was just wondering if you could help out with the deposit. Thank you Deenna Ruhl.

Dear Ellen and staff,
I had used your Halo dog food for over a year with woderful rsults. I have now lost one job and with the one I have now I can not afford it any more. I feel I can not afford to be without it also as my dogs health is first. I have even cut into my own food budget so I can feed Halo to my boxers Sofia and Angela, both English boxers. I came from New Orleans to Austin TX for work with Compaq computers to only get laid off 3 years after. I pray you can help me Please, even coupons, any help would be apreciated. I know that your sexual orientation is as a lesbian, which I completely respect and applaud you for being honost with yourself and the world....But as a handsome 22 year old, I believe that I could shake your sexual security. I find you to be an amazing talk show host and even though I have never had the opportunity to meet you in person, I believe that your an amazing person as well. Keep doing what you're doing and make sure that when you become the new judge for American Idol you make Simon earn his paycheck.

Ellen,
I have always loved your show. It is amazing what you do for the community and kids. I was wondering if you would be able to assist me with my children's book I have self published. This is a story of a hyena who has lost his giggle box (imaginary box that gives a hyena his giggle bark)and Ester the elephant who has no friends in the jungle. They come across one another and decide to work together to find Harvey's giggle box. In the end they find more than the giggle box, they find true friendship. I think this would be a great book for you to feature, not only because of the story but because the story behind the story. Part of this story was told by my mother, we always wanted to get the book published. 4 yrs ago she was tragically killed in a car accident and in her memory I decided to get the book completed. The story behind the story is don't give up on your dreams and don't put off what you want to do because the future can change in the blink of an eye. I would love to share this story with you for either presenation on your show, comments on your book review or anything. How do I get the story to you or your assistant ? Dear Ellen,

My son Dalton has watched your show everyday since it aired with Jennifer Aniston. He loves your show and watches it everyday before school at 7:00am. He has Autism and his favorite time of your show is the 12 days of Christams. Which I really dont know why, because he gets all worked up when he sees what you give away and always wonders how and why he doesnt get something from you. I just tried to enter him in the 12days, but there was no spot for our state. He is the most amazing person I know and he has struggled all his life, and if there was one thing I could do this Christams to make it the best one, is to write to you and see if you could give him one thing from your giveaways. I know that this would be his best Christmas ever!!!!!!!!!. He loves you Ellen.

Ellen, I have tried entering the contest for help with Christmas decorations many times, it will not go through.

This is what I tried to send, hopefully you will receive this: Ellen, I started watching your show with my Mom after she had her strokes several years ago. I had to move in to help take care of her. We enjoyed watching you be so great! During the last year of her life I developed Ovarian Cancer. It was only 3 weeks after I had my 2nd total knee replacement in a two month period. I was close to stage 4. Thanks to God and the doctor's I survived. Then unexpectedly, Mom passed 2 days before my last Chemo, 11-12-08. Two months ago, my Cancer blocker count rose above the normal level count - which tells us that my cancer is back. More Chemo again and this time is it rough. Since I'm home more, I found your show again! Yeah!

Because of the Cancer re-occurrence, I'm not able to do what I want to decorate my house, but that is OK, there is always next year. AND there will be a next year!

Ellen, would you please have a show on Ovarian Cancer, most women have no idea what to look for and when it is found it is normally to late to save her....... If I could do anything to prevent this from happening to another woman just by making her aware of the very few signs available, I want to do that.
